While I absolutely agree with your personality, your idealism and courage, I am one of those Nigerians who believes that Nigerian musicians and, especially young Nigerian musicians, should demonstrate responsiveness and intellectualism in their songs, and especially in the content of their lyrics. Music is a powerful tool and in the hands of wayward artists all we will ever have is a generation of detached irresponsible young citizens deluded by profane lyrics, who do not know their rights, responsibilities, and obligation as Nigerians. Some of these young artists are so base so that politicians think all Nigerian youths are irresponsible breed without a genealogy. Now tell me how these youths can stand up to the kind of degradation in the Nigerian socio-political-economic sphere? But I am sure if self-aware musicians can stimulate the intellectual radicalism in the Nigerian youths, things will be a lot more different!
Yet the APC govt keeps denying there's untold hardship in the country because obviously they don't feel it. Thank you Tubaba, and I expected by now that more artistes should have thrown their weight behind you(us). Personally, I'll boycott patronizing any of your colleagues who goes against this move!! #istandwith2face #february6th
