I love my 12" American Bass Elite. The sub is hits very hard and is well built. I had a wreak on the interstate where my suv flipped about six times throwing everything except my and the subwoofer box out of the vehicle. The box was broken and the subwoofer frame was bent so bad the voicecoil was stuck. I took a small sledgehammer to it and after about 50 hits the cone was freed. I built another box for my new car and that sub is still banging hard!
Damn yea my 3 brothers and me got cut off and brake checked on the highway doing 90 and we flipped 3 times and my Orion cobalt 15s and box were fine amd they weren't secured in a acura integra hatchback my jl 500.1 had one broken heatsink fin but was fine I had to get rushed to a bigger hospital because I had internal damage and my my brother Matt passed away in February this year his head got scar tissue damage that has caused seizures and he had one and it cut his oxygen for to long. The accident was back in 2005.

Skar is great stuff I’m running a skar ddx 12 dual 2 ohm powered by skar skv2 1500.1d and it is ridiculously loud skar stuff is really good don’t sleep on it it’s not junk at all when installed and tuned properly
I run Rockford T-1000.1 BD with (2) Sundown SA 15's in one car and ORION XTR2500.1D with (2) SKAR ZVX 12's in the other . Both setups sound great👍 and have no issues .
Those first 2 subs are probably the best subs for the money. I've seen so many videos on YT rating "best bang for your buck" and those 2 are always on there.
I have a Skar SVR-12D2 powered by an RP800.1. It is my favorite sub/amp combo so far. I am able to get a good quality tone out of it. I am considering swapping it for a Dayton Audio Reference 12" as my music tastes shift more towards SQ.
I have 2 Alpine 12" Type R that are over 15 years old and still sound great. Back then they could handle 1,200 watts RMS, now I think they are only 800 watts RMS. So they aren't made to last like they used to be.
Very true JP. Interesting fact is that David Hafler started fosgate and was his 3rd and final audio companies where he was a true pioneer and visionary. He start dynaco way back it was diy, then Hafler and fosgate. You can still find fosgate home amplifiers that have hafler guts but it was there testing ground for new chassis that would later be adopted on the first 3 punch series amps. He sold to jbl/Harman before he died. Know you know. WORD!
Great video Mike. This is realistic. We all want to have the big boy subs, but just can't afford 500-900 a piece. They end up settling for these right here. To be honest, you are absolutely correct about the customer service of these companies versus the fanboys subs. I moved on from Orion. After the tariffs were set on China, Orion completely ran out of product. Then there were a few recones for HCCAs. I snapped up 4 124s real quick just because. Turns out, all 4 of them were junk. The quality of the materials made me think that Orion changed build houses. I bought 2 sets of the 2020 6.5 neos, and they're already rattling. I don't know if that's what happened, but I do know that Orion dealers decided they were going to double the price for HCCA subs. There's no way. Just saying as a consumer of their product, there's no way they're worth that, $720 a 12" sub. I just wonder what kind of black Friday sales they did? Lol. I'm going to start shopping around for more midbass and midrange woofers. Keep your videos coming Mike. Really liking the Genius brand, but I need something that takes a bit more juice! Hahaha. Hey big Mike maybe you should check Sica 8 inch midrange speakers they claim to be full range without the need for any tweeter because they kinda have a second layer on the cone acting like a tweeter they are made in Italy and they go for around 100$ per pair 150wrms I thought to let you know 👍
I buy from Audio Apex and G2 Dynamics. They're real bassheads and have excellent deals on equipment. I just ordered 2 G2 10s and got a $500 amp for free from G2 Dynamics.

Yes skar is good. Look at the EVL or VXF series though if you can afford them and can afford an amp to push them. I have 2 VXF 12s with 2 RP-2000 amps and it's hard to beat for the price.
Audiopipe sounds great but don't over power not even by a couple of hundred watts the triple joints are first to go I've already killed 3 of them 2 12s and 1 15

I have been installing car audio for decades however I am not a professional installer am a carpenter, and enthusiast of car audio. With my carpentry skills I became very popular in my area for building boxes, speaker pods, and Mountain full range woofers tweeters mid-bass drivers, and many other accessories including subwoofers crossovers digital processors the list goes on. In my experience stated above, these products are mainly geared towards entry level. Sales would be high it Amazon due to the fact that they are the lower-tier of products although several top-tier companies( Rockford Fosgate, kicker, skar audio...) is on the list, none of these Subs are flagship items. These are the scratching the bottom of the Barrel products.
I used to build my own subwoofer boxes but then when I realized just how nice they are built by somebody else and you just buy the darn thing and all the money that you spend in materials for yourself is so much more expensive than you can get a premade box for? It's pretty much a dead end deal for me. there's that one box that's made out of birch plywood that Big D did a review on a little while ago and that box is amazing for what you're paying for it and realizing that you can easily hit just about any SPL in that box and the fact that it is built like a tank? Yeah there's really no reason to build your own boxes anymore since they finally have given the consumer some good stuff that you can just put in and just roll with it.. if you're really interested in actually making your car shake like that then yeah you do need a custom box but then the best thing to do at that point is either designed the Box yourself or have somebody who knows what the hell they're doing design it for your car and that's actually the most important part to get that kind of bass response or you're able to go ahead and actually shake your windows and your doors and so forth. I much rather do hair tricks since it's fun to do.

I’ve owned both. I own the skar evl 12s. They hit good. Outdo My old terminators for sure. They were ok but different type of monsters here. Now my sundown z18 would put all 4 together to shame. LOL get what u pay for. I’ve been running the z18 on a proven 1920 rms for quiet a while in a Tahoe and never any probs. Except the Tahoe is getting demolished.

i had kove armageddon in my 4 runner for like 8 yrs they were top of the line when i bought them and their still very good products but they blew and i didnt want to spend all that money again so i bought skar i was absolutely shocked the skar sound better then my kove that costed my like 500 a sub i paid 250 for two skar 10s and the refurbished skar amp ill never buy any other car audio product
IMHO I believe the King of budget Basshead subwoofer here is the Skar SVR 12", the audiopipes look good and the Kickers look like Pile which are 1 of the worst brands you can buy, don't get me wrong kicker make outstanding products but these here are not them, right now I am using 3 Skar zvxsv2 18, like our host stated Sun Down audio with the Skar sticker, this will not go well with Sundown or their customers, but to get the same quality in Sundown you have to pay more just for the name, I've been in and out of car audio for more than 20 years and I've used pile, pyramid, boss, Kenwood, pioneer, kicker, Rockford and many others, I've found the good ones and the bad ones, and I'm always looking for for the best in my budget, I have to admit I've been going over my budget in recent years LoL
Skar is no way affiliated with Sundown . There is a lot of videos explaining this . They are not even from the same build house . Skar are just trying to copy the looks but are way different in specs and t/s parameters.
Normal use not the bass head kind of use? What bass heads do you know? People go through subs like Candy if they can’t tune for crap, I have 2 of the American Bass Elite E1244 on a Taramps Bass 8k in a neon for about 3 years now daily abuse and not a single issue.

I have 2 pyle subs, don't laugh. I use them for home cinema and they do a decent job and they are CHEAP, so cheap I don't know how they make and ship for £26 each. Madness.
People get paid to do reviews and give good ratings for stuff on Amazon so I don't trust none of that. U can get better stuff then some of the woffers if u take the time and do some research
I can see the audiopipe sub being on the list, coke on... anyone buying the boss audio or planet audio, maybe one day they'll realize they're buying trash with fictional ratings.
I have had kicker,Memphis alphasonic and planet audio is actually pretty nice and fir what your payin your gettin an amazing deal they rly aren't bad at all

Skar SDR series is a good quality series of subs I run a single 12" in wife's car she loves it
Also the Kicker Comp C very good for small space in a truck very loud subwoofer. Easily handled 800 watts RMS
They also last a long time. They are great for rap music and play loud. For any other type of music they do not have very good sound quality.

I have had kicker,Memphis alphasonic and planet audio is actually pretty nice and fir what your payin your gettin an amazing deal they rly aren't bad at all
