I actually Adore pv3 and pv1, I don't care much for lightfastness at all and I believe many don't as they prefer to scan their work rather than selling original paintings.

0:51 There are indeed cobalts in the new set of granulating colours. This doesn't bother me at all...but someone else might want to avoid them. All colours can be toxic (i.e. if ingested or rubbed in eyes) but not if they are used as intended and not consumed.

I’m a big fan of PB1 and am very interested in this as the only brand I’ve saw using it was WhiteNights. It’s a really amazing blue for me, I use it even more than Ultramarine, mainly alongside the granulating yellow oxide from DS, the pigments separate and the painting will have both blue and yellow without it turning green. It’s magical hahaha. It’s sadly fugitive tho, even tho I scan my works; I’m gonna try your replacement too!!

Not sure how I missed this for a year! Thoroughly enjoy your choices here. I would not mind your palette at all and I totally agree with you CYM choices, and I also prefer PR209 for a "warm" red. I do have a thing for DaVinci Raw Sienna, over the TYO (and I do appreciate some semi-opaque choices in my palette). I'd probably use DaVinci's Cobalt Teal instead of turquoise. And a Raw Umber rather than TRO. I'd probably skip black, or maybe use Mission Gold Cobalt Black which is amazing. I kinda can't live without a nice cool Raw Umber though... I like Daniel Smith's, but I want to try Qor as well. Another staple in my palette is Indanthrone -- Qor's is amazing. And I do really have a thing for purple, W&N makes a great Cobalt Violet and Schmincke makes a wonderful Manganese Violet. Oh and how can I live without PG26. Funny enough, I'm trying to decide on how to fill a 33 well porcelain palette from Meeden right now.

I think there is a sizable audience of Japanese artists who use "designer" paints to be transitioned into a digital media and if not printable formats, so fugitive paints are usually not an issue. I believe special effect granulating colors are also trending in Japan right now, so the extra staining colors are more options to mix with granulating colors as they tend to separate better in mixes?
