I agree with these choices. The thing that baffles me the most about some modded Skyrim players is why a lot of them do not use RS Children overhaul. How can you go from town to town and see this fat-headed identical freaks running around. It's such an easy thing to fix. The RS children look great. There is a bit of variety and most of all realism to each child. I get what you're saying about the mountains. They're everywhere. So are these NPCs. They run right up to your face and start talking to you in every town and village. In some cases you have to interact with them for quests. You spent 4 seconds or so no the kid from Riverwood's face when you were trying to convince us about the mountains. They're just as absurd as the ropes and chains.
That's because RS Children makes the children too beatyfull and glamour for Skyrim. In may fit in and unimmersive playthrough with Bijins and other waifu mods, but it doesn't fit with Skyrim or other realistic overhauls like WICO. Especially the hair stands out like a sore thumb. I get that vanilla skyrim had little variety in children hair, but that doesn't mean it RSC should add supercomplicated hairdos that doesn't fit into medieval setting for anything less than nobility... Simple Children is much much better mod than RSC...
@@fakesummer3942 so the website where you install enbseries? so just use that and then turn on ssao? what's the difference between enb AO and skyrims AO?

ENB is super performance-heavy, but the particle light effect makes it super worth it. It’s ridiculous how impactful a little change like that can be to your immersion. One thing I wish ENB also did was add in better anti aliasing. I’ve noticed that shimmer is horrific when one has an ENB installed, even compared to vanilla Skyrim.
There are a lot of people on UA-cam that think they rant but they don't they just scream at the top of their lungs Gopher is one of the few who is a master at the art of ranting, he is the Rembrandt van Rijn of ranting.

Till now I've been feeling something was wrong with the appearance of the game, but I couldn't understand what. Now I know. Now I know how to improve graphically my games. Thanks Gopher, that's what I've been missing.
Have you checked out "Majestic Mountains - Northside"? It's a mod that combines different versions of Majestic Mountains and another mod called Northfire's Photoreal Mountains. I personally think that Northside is the best mountain texture mod for Skyrim, and you may want to check it out.
Yeah, you convinced me, I need an ENB. I already have SMIM and RW2 and I had some issues with the terrain mods so I'm not dealing with them, but the ENB seems vital now that I've seen it.
So after 4 years of playing last play through of Skyrim on and off and again not finishing it, I am looking for mods for SSE, yea I never thought I would want to buy SSE! Of course I look for a few people who do amazing coverage of mods. First thing I notice of Mr Gopher is that his style of talking has changed! You are more excited than before. Its not bad, I am just like wait, what happened to calm voiced Gopher! When did this change come across! Hahahaha. Still as always loving the content. Thanks for making content like this so we can figure out which ones to install! AR
Gotta love how vanilla friendly Gophers' setup looks. To me, the vanilla trees or at the very least the vanilla enhanced tree mod are the best looking.
@Ron T I have been modding for about 7 years. Sit your ass down Ron. I know and talk to many people in the modding scène, respected modders as well, like Rudy, L00ping, Spiffy and we all agree vanilla trees aren't as bad as "everyone else" thinks. Sometimes less is more and vanilla is beautifull. But that's something you will learn if you're modding long enough.
Gopher, as someone who has done everything to avoid using an ENB because I couldn't get used to the performance loss I got with any of them last time I tried using it (and setting up the options to my liking was going to take WAY too much time), so I have two requests, neither should be hard to answer in a quick response. 1: Are you planning on posting your preset on the nexus? I would 100% install ENB and use your preset as it is exactly what I would be looking at recreating as my core. 2: Are you still using lighting mods like ELFX or Relighting Skyrim? Or just the ENB? I know almost nothing about ENB so that's why I'm asking.
@@gameroxi from what I read "The Truth" is a good enb, or at least the not super performance-needy light version of it, but I was just researching before I start playing skyrim for the first time and can't tell you how big of a difference it is to his, didn't play skyrim yet.
The fact that SMIM and Majestic Mountains weren't part of either Special Edition or Anniversary Edition is baffling. If you're gonna rerelease a game that looked dated in 2011 a million times, at least pay someone who, in their free time, made the chains look like they were made after 1996 for their hard work and incorporate it into your rerelease

i would add imaginator to this list as well. The oldrim mcm version works perfectly fine with special edition and it lets you adjust saturation contrast to give skyrim a less washed out look without the need for an enb which basically just means prettier game without the performance hit or better yet it lets you fix that damn overblown face lighting when your character is facing the sun
Had me laughing! Please upload your ENB preset. I've always been a bit overwhelmed by them but I like how yours is basically just a vanilla + look. very realistic.
I was on the fence with Majestic Mountains, but you have convinced me. And apparently I also need to learn how to install dyndolod now...and also to look at ENB stuff rather than just ELFX.
What some people may not realize - you dont need to look closely to chain or fence to see...perceive problems, many people would just feel it w\o realizing sometimes. Mods like better meshes fix such things, even if you dont look closely, its about overall experience, general perception of the game world. Me personally - I can play with lets say vanilla mountains, but cant play w\o darker night and denser forest mods, among other things ofc :)
If you are worried about modding or really don't want to mod Skyrim, I honestly think installing SMIM is a great thing to install, its a basic mod that improves so much graphically.
I enjoyed the SMIM bit. Gopher pointing out everything wrong with the vanilla mesh. On another note I’m still waiting for Gopher to make his ENB preset and upload it to nexus. I want to try his cause I’ve tried several and nothing seems really that good.
Now to add the other 40 visual mods you need now that the unmodded stuff really stands out 😂. Looking at the 4 door mods, 2 table clutter mods, and 1 cheese texture mod for example.
Honestly these videos couldn't have come at a better time. I have been away from my computer for some time, and feel that as a result I became disconnected from my current play through. I find many of my preferences to be the same as Gopher's when it comes to mods, and am going to do a hard reset on my mod list (more than one reason for that).
One of my favorite mods is Enhanced Lights and Effects. Lighting is one of things that the vanilla game gets really wrong. I cannot live with the vanilla lighting. ELFX means that you actually have to use aids to see in dungeons and at night. The AI is not quite as smart as Fallout 4, so making the game darker does little to effect the AI detection unless you install a mod that requires SKSE. In OG Skyrim, with SKSE and enhanced camera, ELFX also means that you see your own shadow in the first person and it works with modded gear or gear mods like Visible Favorited Gear." It is so immersifyingly immersive.
@@Fion355 Relatable. It's been a long time but I still remember getting so many errors I just gave up after a day or two trying. Didn't help my OS stopped booting after a power outage and I just recently started modding Skyrim again, still can't get over losing a level 120 Khajiit with all quests but DLC ones finished :')
FYI Gopher recent versions of ENB also let you crank up textures' specularity, so you can now make both the environment and peope's skin and armor look wet when it rains (and imho it looks so good and immersive that it's 2nd big reason to use an ENB, right after particle lights).

Would definitely watch a hour long rant on SMIM vs Vanilla that was comedy gold
I've never heard someone else so hyped up about a fence.
Thanks to SMIM, I am too now.
All hail fences.
I enjoyed the SMIM bit. Gopher pointing out everything wrong with the vanilla mesh.
On another note I’m still waiting for Gopher to make his ENB preset and upload it to nexus. I want to try his cause I’ve tried several and nothing seems really that good.
😂😂😂😂😂 I LOVE THE BIT ABOUT THE MOUNTAINS!!! The passion of Gopher!!! 😂😂😂 I AGREE 100%
Now to add the other 40 visual mods you need now that the unmodded stuff really stands out 😂. Looking at the 4 door mods, 2 table clutter mods, and 1 cheese texture mod for example.
@Haku infinite lol
"LOOK AT IT!!!!!" LMFAOOOOOO hi Gopher, I'd love to see a DynDOLOD mod install! Or just a new mod sanctuary 💖
Yes please! Last time i tried my game was dead....i dont know what i did wrong to this day...
Gotta LOVE Gopher expressing MODS.
FYI Gopher recent versions of ENB also let you crank up textures' specularity, so you can now make both the environment and peope's skin and armor look wet when it rains (and imho it looks so good and immersive that it's 2nd big reason to use an ENB, right after particle lights).
Its so funny when he is getting "mad" :D
I miss Gophers Skyrim (SE) Mod Sanctuary :// .... I hope it comes back someday :)
Well... Alright then, I'm off to Nexus now. Thanks for the recommendations.
