My maths teacher basically told me the same thing. I’m not argumentative but I definitely let him know that it wasn’t ok to disrespect me when I was honestly trying my hardest. Teachers who support and encourage hard workers (even if they don’t immediately grasp concepts) make much more of an impact than they think.
My history teacher told me “good riddance” I still love history. She couldn’t ruin it for me

Teachers have always buttonholed some pupils and told them they'd be nothing. It's down to the child and the other influencers in their life to prove them wrong!
My maths teacher told me once ill become a cleaning lady ill not know how to count m2 ive swiped! Now im a senior manager in finance. I hated that mean lady.
My uni tutor told me 3 weeks before final deadline that I wouldn't graduate. Proved her wrong!
It wasn't her remark that spurred me on to get that result but more so not wanting to let my family down who had supported my choices my whole life.
Ruth, you just made the peanut counter worker feel very bad. It was a perfectly acceptable job in its day.
