I didn't realize till my fifth time watching that he already crashed his car in the lake and the movie theater is him watching his life flash before his eyes there are so many layers to this video. Including the burning piano which is was her passion and him burning it to get rid of the memories. Plus the opening of the video is him arriving back home from his near death experience to embrace is (I'm guessing) mother. Hence the soaked clothes. This is the most polished music video I've seen in a long time.

Great reaction Tauri!l This was the first reaction I've seen from you and was very impressed with how fast you caught on to the story of the video. Whichever one of them wrote the music video and made the directorial decisions did magnificently.
The constant jump back and forth in time between his memories and how he's feeling is so well done. It serves to disorient the viewer, much the same as the man is. Then during the more angry part where he decides to take his life and is screaming in the car, the cuts speed up drastically to indicate the state of mind he's in. Mind is running a mile a minute and he's acting without fully thinking it through.
The whole drugs motif works so well. They were both using beforehand, but when they find out she's pregnant, both stop, but she unfortunately STILL loses the baby. This of course then creates a bit of a rift between them and she starts using again, overdosing in the process. It emphasises the importance that baby had and how much they both already loved them, despite not being born yet. They were enough to motivate the woman to quit, but losing the baby led her right back to them to numb her grief and eventually led to her death.
All the imagery of the man sinking as he is dying, and then swimming up to the surface as he realises he doesn't want to die yet, is some of my favourite cinematography of the year. it looks much more epic than it would in reality. It is a mental struggle he has to overcome, not a physical one, and that often times is muchhh harder than a physical struggle, so it IS a great, epic moment when he can make that decision to not do it.
The drive-in theatre being him looking back on all his memories is also a great choice, as initially we think that is a real event we are witnessing. Meanwhile, this is his life literally flashing in front of his eyes as the car is flooding.
I love him going to his (I assume) mother after the attempt is also beautiful, but unfortunately (much the same as you said of everybody not having that realisation) not everyone still has family/friends they can depend on for that support. Often times, they are grieving as well! A good support system is critical and I wish everybody could be guaranteed one.
The emotional acting of both of the main characters without ever having to say a word is amazing. Conveying all that grief and anger, as well as happiness and love for each other, all through only facial expressions and physical acting is incredibly impressive.
That opening/main riff is sooooo good, it's been stuck in my head for weeks now. The switch up in vocals near the halfway point of the song is also so beautiful. Going from the clean, melodic singing into the rage-filled screams and growls as he moves on in his stages of grief is heartbreaking. This song is a bit more mellow/slower than their usual music, and because of its subject matter, I believe it was totally warranted, necessary and the right choice.
I also like making the song approachable to non-metalheads, because this is a very important topic and absolutely beautiful song, video, and message. I view it as more of a short film than a music video tbh.
I look forward to seeing more of your reactions! I loved the empathy you showed the characters and the tragedies that are overdoses, miscarriages, overdoses and suicide. I also appreciate you advocating for speaking to someone, whether that be a friend, family or therapist when you are struggling. It is ALWAYS okay to ask for reassurance, comfort and guidance when you need it and more people should know that!

This song was transformational for me and many others that lost a child (mine passed at 2 months old), gf and i drifted apart, she died a few years later from MS. That was 14 years ago, this song brought it all rushing back, made me realized we never really fully heal, it's a masterpiece and weirdly soothing in a bittersweet way. I certainly didn't expect this song to affect me so deeply. Love it. Not since Alter Bridge's Blackbird has a song hit me with all the feels.

Aiaiaiaiai, Tauri? What is this video? This band? The music, the lyrics, the characters and the drama exposed in the song's lyrics! How well they constructed the scenes of joy/suffering! Man! Your reaction to the song said it all! Your facial expression, your look, your heart that at some point lost its rhythm, due to the drama placed in front of you! Even though I haven't been through this specifically, situations shown in the images always come to my mind, both of joy and sadness! And you gifted us, again, with your presence of mind in observing the scene and letting emotions flow! That's why I follow you! That's why I'm on your channel, that's why I'm here! I'm glad we're here! And somehow, and you say this at the end, pass on to those who are watching, and who live or have lived this drama, to always seek help! Don't stay alone, with all the load of emotions that you will have to work on in your heart and mind! I didn't go through this, but my mother did! And that's another drama and another story! Man, I've already said it and I'll say it again, aiaiaiai! Kiss in your heart! I love you!🌷
