Oliver I woke up this morning and went to UA-cam. Your site came up and I watched many shows and decided you were one of my many favorites. Now I watch this one and I feel sad. Happy for you like the person said since you have a vision through everything. You have to move forward for what's best for you. My husband and I had a daughter that is challenged with metal situaltions. I'm not saying you are, but some times she needs to break away from everything and just go a different direction from where she is going. Desperately sad to hear there'll be no more content but of course, I understand the reasons. I also walked out of a job (as a primary school teacher) to be a full time gardener! 10 years later I'm still doing it. Don't regret it for one minute. I ran a small online plant business here in California and when under and ended up having to reassess my life in doing so lost a partner and nearly went into bankruptcy. You're not alone.

A genera of plants that may fit in with your new lifestyle while still giving you a source of calm and mindfulness are cacti and succulents. I have been coming to appreciate them more and more lately. Though not as pretty as the orchids and carnivorous plants, or as difficult to care for, they abide and thrive through those periods of life when things get in the way. Because they are built for that. You eventually come to see a kind of beauty in their ugliness and resilience. You can find some very interesting and uncommon varieties for a few dollars at cacti and succulent society meetings. Anyway, just an idea for the future once the new business is established. Having a large collection of high maintenance plants is nice but it's also liberating getting rid of them. You are always a slave to the plants and the commitment is just as demanding as having pet dogs. Where you can go, when you must be home. I traded most of wetland cps for low maintenance cacti and bromeliads that require no care and live outside. The few Nepenthes are more than enough now. Best of luck to you Oliver.

I fell in love with one of your little carnivore pitcher plants a little tiny one from Australia been shopping for one but have yet to find one. I do wish that you could send a few of your babies to the USA but I do understand paperwork. The less hassle you have in life but happier the soul is. It doesn't make you happy remove it.
