I legit say this all the time but Carla is the GREATEST videographer of reveals! I was watching HGTV yesterday and literally said out loud, "I wish Carla would do this reveal" because I just wanted to see an entire piece of furniture and not just a random corner with no context. Carla is literal perfection, from the initial sweep to the details. Makes me so happy!
I'm a first time viewer so I have no idea who Carla is, but the videography of the reveal in this video is indeed amazing.

Agreed! One to match the other finishes.
The twist on ones eventualy slip down with steamy walls and wear while closing or pulling the curtain back. They're temporary and eventuallly useless.
Yes, a brass rod like the other hardware would've been nice -- especially after you took the trouble to change the vent!
And brass shower fixtures? Everything is so luxe, but right now I feel like the makeover ends at the shower curtain.

A trick to remove a bathroom mirror is use painters tape in a criss cross pattern to keep it together. This works will and you won’t have broken glass all over if it happens to break.😊
Just a thought - you could go to a stone yard and choose a remnant piece of stone for pretty inexpensive to use as a countertop. Sometimes people sell them on marketplace for really inexpensive as well. So we don’t have to rely on cheap ikea especially in a home that isn’t a rental.

or a remnant of something like Corian. (Solid surfacing is great because it can be worked much the same way wood can)

100% a bright and interesting pattern on the shower curtain would have been great and in theme. also those ribbons are gonna get so gross and moldy as its constantly gonna be wet
Love the wallpaper, mirror, vanity, and light. The medicine cabinet was a huge miss for me...color and shape. Definitely was not expecting a white bath rug and shower curtain, I feel that was a missed opportunity to make it really eclectic, as well as the tiny piece of art. Easy fixes for her to change. Bones are there, just needed different finishing touches!
Totally agree. I was hoping for a fun shower curtain and bath rug, as well. Not to mention the shower head needed some gold to match!

Not a fan of this bathroom but as long as the client is happy,that's all that counts. Medicine cabinet is not cohesive in the space and the offset light would get to me after a while. All that said, Alexandra and team AG did a fantastic job for the client! Hopefully no pink and green in next weeks video. Love your channel and hope you get to 1m by the end of the year!
Love the wallpaper and pink sink. Very refreshing! The shower curtain rod looks cheap. Maybe add a 'Hotel style' half moon curtain rod. ❤❤❤

I was hoping for the shower rod to be elevated also. 😢 The tension rod looked inexpensive compared to the rest of the renovation.

I love the makeover and the wallpaper :) but I don't want to see any more squiggles. Alexandra uses squiggles in every makeover, and now, it feels overdone.
Graham is like a mom, whenever there's something really hard or you're afraid of messing it up you get him to it. Somehow, no matter how old you get mom has a magic touch that seems unattainable. Graham had the same energy.
The yellow box hanging over the toilet, is not good. The color of the mirror frame, is just off. Maybe a charcoal gray? You do better than this on a regular basis, this makes no sense. I’m confused
The mirror works with the vanity, and the soft yellow is right...
What's off is the blue in the WALLPAPER. It clashes with the pink.
It’s beautiful overall - the only thing I would say is that it started to veer a bit boho with the shower curtain bows, the tasseled towels and the cupboard handles whereas her inspo photos looked more upscale.
Agreed. The bows & tassels are very much Alexandra's style and could have been omitted. The green from the vanity could have easy been picked up by some decorative shower curtain hooks instead.

Such a bright and fun makeover! The only thing is that the yellow cabinet felt out of place. I feel like it would have tied together more nicely if it used one of the colours in the wallpaper or the same colour as the vanity

Make over was almost perfect
! Exception the shower curtain rod. Why would you remove a fixed rod to put a tension one that will fall 🤦🏾♀️. I understand removing the silver definitely should have gotten a white fixed one
That cabinet above the toilet is awful! Why would you pick a colour that resembles smoke stained or sun shot bakerlite? Yuk!
I agree with a lot of the comments - the medicine cabinet,'s color, but my concern was that it looked like someone could hit their head on the cabinet when standing up from the toilet.
Also, i noticed that the toilet was changed out for a new one. I feel that should have been noted in the reveal.

Why oh why HGTV doesn't hire this young woman and her entire team for their network is beyond me. Alexandra is fun, super creative, a natural in front of the camera-and a breath of fresh air in the design biz. Love that she tackles small spaces like so many of us have. There's really no one quite like her which is why she's become so popular so quickly. Adding Graham and his talent to the mix has only made the show stronger. So impressed by all of you!
I thought they did though? There was a HGTV digital series Buy or DIY with Dani too , and in May2022 there was a press release announcing a new HGTV Canada show
Well for one they went the lying reality shows. I dont think credible artists, designers etc. want to do that with contracts and schedules they cannot control and manipulated videoing. Also they may have contract restrictions like appearing anywhere from other shows or conventions, who knows what. They also get a share in the ad money from youtube too and can get brand sponsers and make their own partnerships.
Cable TV is no longer the standard of success. Who watches cable anymore.

Probably to have more creative freedom and not be influenced by the pressure of ratings - but also I don’t know anything technical about TV so this is just my assumption
Wow! I love that wallpaper and just the fact that you use colour. Love the mirror! I have to say though that the ribbon shower curtain will be a pain in the booty when it comes to washing the liner. If you like the bow detail I would purchase shower hooks that allow the liner to easily be removed and and tie the ribbon to the front of the hooks or use a shower curtain that does not require a liner. Also the plain white shower curtain is a bit ho hum for me and feel that a thin grid pattern in one of the other colours used would have created more interest. No criticism, just my humble opinion. The bathroom overall is a helluva lot better than what the owner started with! Kudos!

So pretty! Not sure how I feel about the cabinet on the wall, it feels kind of small and random but I’m always here for extra storage. One thing that would have really elevated it would be to go to a gold shower curtain rod just to match the rest of the gold hardware around the room or even a white one that’s fixed. I feel like my shower curtain rod randomly falls down so having one that’s screwed in would have been super nice. Either way, beautiful makeover as always!
my bathroom is the exact layout/feel. its ready for a makeover too! (planned for 2024). thanks for the inspo. amazing what a few changes can do to a space. the mirror creation was great to watch. unique for sure. happy holidays to all!
That off-centered light by the mirror would bother me every time I saw it.
Fans of raised vessel sinks, tell me what you love about them because I would like to understand.
I liked mine until I had a toddler. It just made my bathroom feel like a pretty spa. Then I switched it out for a sink she could reach. She would’ve needed a stepstool like a metre high to reach. I don’t miss it. An Undermount sink is way easier to just sweep extra water into. And I don’t have to try and reach under to clean.
What Graham makes is not DIY. That's custom work and his time should be figured into the cost - at like 7 x min wage.
I adore this team and their makeovers are wonderful; they bring me joy. However I think we should give the mirror joke a rest; we saw Graham accidentally smash ONE mirror not a million. So everyone behaving like he is a complete disaster with mirrors seems harsh. He is a hard worker that is very talented and highly appreciated by us viewers. So the joke should be put to rest permanently unless if he does it again and you want to make a reference to the one and only time before.
Love the bathroom except for the cabinet over the toilet. It comes off as mismatched and I think it should have been painted either white, green to match the vanity or cover the sides with wallpaper and paint the front to match the vanity or white. Definitely want to see more full home renovations!
I was hoping someone would agree with me. I also think over the toilet is a horrible place for a medicine cabinet.just what you want to hit yiur head on…or drop your medication bottles into.

I’m not loving it either. It’s so square and rigid, compared with all the other curving lines.. And it’s a weird shape; it feels like it sticks out too far into the space. If it were larger and the same depth, or larger and just a little bit less deep, it would feel more in. proportion. Less intrusive.

Not a fan of the mirror. Needs a good paint job, not natural, because it commands too much attention. She is spot on so much of the time but not this one. Needs a more feminine elegant mirror and the box can go too

Hi Alexander, Gram and team! Been watching your videos for a while now and love your designs. I love love love this makeover! But please don’t give a client a spring-tightened shower curtain rod, especially when they already had pre drilled holes for a curtain rod. I bought my house 8 years ago and went through 3 different fancy shiny expensive spring rods. Every single time I had a guest come stay and use that bathroom, they would always throw their towels over the curtain rod to hang dry. Why? I have a cute towel hook right beside the shower, and a really cute over the door hanger for your robes or wet towels (and a hamper for dirty clothes). Those shower rods fall every single time. So I called a contractor and he put in a permanent shower curtain rod. Fixed the problem!

I knew Gram's name was Graham. However the constant pronouncation Alexandra presents is Gram!!! lol . Anyways very busy design. Loud n Soft at the same time. Does look a little cheap. Would have been lovely if there were more repurposed materials ... we are all a critic hey lol 😊

The moisture in the bathroom will likely makes this wallpaper peel off. This is the one time peel and stick would be preferable

Totally agree. The concept was great and the wallpaper is fab but there are definitely too many colors going on in the room. None of which are blending in with the black tiles. I was so surprised they didn't bring the black (or even tones of black) in with the metals and/or the medicine cabinet.

Have you ever thought of using curtains instead of a shower curtain
That way you can take the curtains up higher and you don’t see any tiles
I use one rod for the plastic curtain and a second rod for the drapery

Even though I like that green color on its own, I think in this space, a less desaturated and brighter green-blue color might've matched the palette of the wallpaper more! I know it's hard to break away from the safer desaturated colors, but in instances where you wanna go bright, there's def room to go brighter! Love love LOVE the wallpaper and all the fixtures though, really beautiful bathroom!

@@serenakoleno9338 I understand that train of thought! However, black is a "bright" color rather than a desaturated one, so a blue/green with less grey in it would suit the color palette better. I personally prefer desaturated colors myself, but this is just a suggestion for when someone wants a "bright/colorful" palette! ☺The cabinet can still be a "dark" color, it just needs to be a few shades more saturated to feel cohesive. But of course people can do what they want!

Great transformation, perfect blend of colors, patterns and whimsy- except for the wall shelf which is now the focal point 😢. That and a better countertop would be more appropriate to the now-wonderful space. Cabinet color was brilliant.

Same. They are among the few who offer makeovers to others, instead of redecorating their own house for the tenth time in the last 2 years. The advantage of this format is that we always see new spaces, with different layouts and styles. Not to mention the joy they bring to these people.

How did I go from hating the wallpaper choice to loving it so much. Buy that mirror is so my vibe! Gram is truly a master of his craft. Again, market that mirror, PLEASE!
Love this transformation and great design choices, plus love the custom mirror and switch plate by Graham. Especially love the Mitzi light fixture but wish it had been relocated to be centred over the vanity (I’ve never seen a vanity light off centre like that - is that a thing?). Great videography and editing work as always 😊
Colorful...shower curtain underwhelming & question whether ties at top really allow for smooth operation.
Sometimes I just wish the execution could be a little bit more refined. Like an inexpensive natural stone countertop and something other than a dorm room tension shower rod.

Taking out a solid shower curtain rod and replacing it with just a _white, plastic_ tension rod is *definitely* _a choice…_ that’s for sure! Really hoped for a gold rod hung all the way up to the ceiling with a much more _lux_ curtain and funky gold rings to match-but, hey, I understand you’re still _use to_ doing *less permanent* fixtures and changes in your designs.
Oh, _wait…_ come on, you changed the vent to GOLD but *_not_* that shower rod!? I’m sorry, but I just can’t get over why you changed it to such a -terrible- _cheap_ option! Hope to see you guys branch out more, come 2024, when doing the homeowner projects- Like, you actually tiling a space instead of just using peel & stick options… I know you can do it! Or Graham can, anyway. 😜 I know most homeowners want more permanent options because it just adds more value to our property! Why didn’t you change the bathtub hardware? It looks unfinished and that shower curtain bar looks incredibly cheap.
Lastly, it’s super easy to remove a toilet and it would make wallpapering much easier.

Love pink love green! I'm so happy these colors are used. For such a long time having feminine colors was looked down upon. When in reality, they're gorgeous colors!

I can't believe you didn't screw a good rod in. And the showerhead should have been changed too, to match the test of the hardware. At least it could have been spray painted

Uhm, yes and no. Light pink has always been a thing here. Then there was a sage green kitchen phase. Now it's pink and green together. Signed: someone who's been subscribed from the beginning.
