LEGO TITANIC 2.0 - Histobrick's Revised Titanic Kit

- After the first version of Lego Titanic, we had some suggestions - some mentioned in my video, and some brought up by you fine folks in the comments. Histobrick paid attention, fixed what they could, and refined the model for even further detail. I think she's gorgeous!

This kit is not endorsed by LEGO, but it does use genuine LEGO parts sourced from third party vendors. This isn't associated with the MASSIVE and office LEGO Titanic kit just released. I may eventually do a review for that, but certain things need to line up for that to happen.
Can't wait for a 9000 piece time lapse of Tom fumbling around with a Titanic kit lol. Maybe we'll see more of his old kbar too.
Yes this would be amazing
Maybe
Tom, you HAVE to get the official set. I remember being like 7-8 years old and watching your stop motion short film and thinking “man I wish lego made a titanic set”. Its probably been over ten years since I watched your movie and now it would be like things came full circle for me. DO IT!!!!!!!
That was so pleasant. The discussion, the review, the information, the music. All of it is so wonderful.
After watching the video I do have some tips if you do end up getting the official lego titanic (which I highly recommend you do it looks brilliant). Please do not put all the bags in one pile it makes hunting for pieces needlessly difficult. Try using small containers or at least put them in separate piles. Also, do not simply attach pieces to the model when it states to do subassemblies first. This makes it easy to miss parts. The new set has been called a "masterclass in lego engineering" and is widely regarded as one of the best sets of all time because of its complexity and clever building methods (a lot more complex than any of these builds). For this reason, don't skip ahead or rush the process. Take your time and do it in multiple sittings.
Not only is the kit awesome, the packaging makes it extra special!
I mean these models look great don't get me wrong but the price is just unreal. I saw a set on the histobrick site with about 1600 lego pieces priced at $650. For comparison, the new lego titanic model is over 4 feet long, has 9090 pieces (many of which are large and more expensive), and is priced at $630. That's a price to part ratio of about 40 cents compared to 7 cents. Like i love the idea but the cost is just not justifiable for what you're getting.
Because they make custom designs and they don’t make the price they get the pieces from brick link or any other website they calculate the total of the pieces that they got and they buy a lot of pieces so that’s why they are expensive
“HARD TO STARBOARD!!”
@@why_are_you_here283 wow
Why?
Is there anything ahead?
Please review the giant titanic! You could point out the innacuracies, and also the INTERIOR!
This is ASMR for the Titanic fandom. Awesome as always!
Indeed
Showing those Britannic clips and talking through it would be absolutely amazing. Great video as always, Tom! This kit is a huge improvement.
17:00 Nooooo, I loved that mic!
💐 R.I.P. Microphone 💐
2016(?) ~ 2021
Thumbnail is king
Histobrick really upped their game when it comes to these models. I got myself the Britannic, Edmund Fitzgerald, SS Nomadic, and the Carpathia, currently got the SS Arthur M. Anderson on preorder at the moment. Might go back just to get the Titanic and the Lusitania. Also, the wooden boxes makes great storage for small stuff. Currently have one up on a shelf containing the lifeboats, another one for old baseball cards, and third for instructions.
I really appreciate your dog's sense of humour.
What about upcoming LEGO TITANIC 10294 ? Its a bit pricey but looks amazing. Are you planing to adding it in your collection?
That’s the set he was talking about…
Yes! Would very much like to see. The Titanic and Lusitania videos are very nostalgic to me. Inspired me to make my own back in 2012! They are not that good, but have the same enthusiasm!
Lol that thumbnail 😂 (and congrats on 20K my fellow nor'easter!)
Tom definitely did a far better job on Titanic than before: far more detailed and accurate. As I've said elsewhere, I've stopped collecting Legos a long time ago and don't foresee myself getting back into it. But if I did, and I wanted some Lego ships, Histobrick would be the place I'd go. There's something oddly satisfying about building Legos, and I think that's part of their enduring appeal.
Before I go, just a quick question. So I'm currently working on a rendition of the cancelled Story Mode for THG. I initially plan on publishing it on my online writing accounts when complete, and should I do a good enough job on it, I'm also considering making it a film here on UA-cam. I was wondering if my doing this is ok with you, and I promise to give you credit for the original idea. I asked this back on Reddit and James said I should bring this question to you, since it was your idea.
(also just one more thing: are you ever going to reupload the SS Titan vs RMS Titanic video here? I quite liked that one)
I'm surprised this guy doesnt have more views and subscribers. I find his Lego Kit Building videos quite comforting, and I think more people should know about this amazing channel!
I'm so excited, I ordered a bunch of kits finally and they're on their way. Tom's been very helpful and kind, I'm super happy to be able to support his business! Thanks for introducing these, other Tom 😉
Going back to this video for that barrel thing part at 31:15. I believe it could represent that overhang of the aft boat deck.
Histobrick Tom should make it splitable! The 9000 piece official set can! And it’s not just to simulate the sinking!
Can’t wait for the 9000 piece version!
I just thought of a way to get the correct number of lifeboats for that model. Take two 2x2 plates and use the UV printer to make it look like lifeboats
Wow! It went from a toy to a masterpiece!
I love titanic
A really beautiful model of the Titanic!🚢
Love this!
Keep it up.
Droolin' at that Titanic but it's pretty much out of our price range. Will hafta settle for our Atlas diecast and the Revell 1:600 kit model we put together.
When we was a li'l whelk we fashioned a 'generic' ocean liner with those 'expert builder' Lego block that came from their auto chassis & drivetrain kit. The holed beams served excellent representation as portholes. No, we don't have it. Gave all our Lego to Brothersnail. He kept them till his untimely death in 1995...
The Spanish company 'Tente' had a neat Coast Guard cutter kit that we and brothersnail got as send-away cereal premiums. Tente offered decent bow and stern bricks - and lifeboats - that if one wanted to and had enough bricks for - they're plentiful enough on ePay - could be fashioned into a Titanic model.
29:40 he sounded like the board of trade when they asked about the Titanics lifeboats
29:45 and the Board of Trade after Titanic’s sinking
I can't wait for the behind the scenes video of the lego stop motion series
LETS GOOO I’ve been waiting for a new video
Great video Tom! I was a huge lego fan back when I was a kid... especially Lego Agents. I do remember watching your stop motion video when it came out in 2007.
Is there any new information about the Lusitania experience? I am really looking forward to it and can't wait!
Tom: finds cool way to build propeller shaft
Also Tom: huh… okay.
One note Tom, recently Histobrick made another Titanic model, this time a 3-1 Titanic lego kit and also it is larger in scale. It would be cool if you could make a video reviewing that kit and maybe other histobrick kits like the Normandie, the new Lusitania, and many other. It's been a while Tom.
Another one yaaaaaaaaaay I really want one
That was fun as the rest. Hope you do the official Lego one as well.
I might get this
You know, Cobi makes a much bigger Titanic set for about a hundred dollars less than these sets. I applaud Histobrick for the effort but this set costs almost $300, and I just can't bring myself to drop that much money on a kit that small. I would be curious to see you do the Cobi set, though. It looks highly detailed.
11:17 I guess you could say you have a final voyage Olympic before the very last part was scrapped.
I had a Brickloot Titanic kit, which I modified to make it able to split ‘97 style, and the Modern top-down theory. This also meant that I could have the forward tower fall. Sadly, I cannibalized the set for my Lego S.S. _Californian_
One more thing; the piece used to make the funnels should be black, so it blends in better.
I may need to get one to put along side the mary
Have you ever thought about separating the colors before hand. I dump each bag into a container then before building, separate each color into its own container. It seems to be quicker for me.
I've bought the SS Arthur M Anderson set.
it was at 25:07 that he realized that a page flipped while he was talking about his dog and jeepers not really playing
I would love to get that and of Olympic and Britannic
Can’t wiat for Tom building the upgraded britannic
Ah the good old Lego films. Haha those are some good stories.
I was thinking about getting the SS Eastland, but the bugger is 700 DOLLARS. Absolute insanity.
Regarding your comment about never seeing an Olympic class toy, I remember reading something about a modelmaker (before the OG "A night to Remember" came out) going into a miniature hobby shop (pre 1950's) and asking for a Titanic model, and then he got a dirty look from the store keeper (wish I remember the source). I specifically remember him saying that the store even had many kits of the Cunard and other liners but none at all of Titanic. I am guessing it was kind of a taboo back then, especially in the following decades after the disaster. It might have been a personal account posted to TRMA but not entirely sure.
Could you check out the new Revell 1:400 scale titanic that has LED lights and sound.
I'm asking for the histobrick titanic for Christmas also would super love to see you do the Lego 9000 piece titanic
imo, the audio actually got better after the mic died
28:57, and 31:28, I bet Tom Wished he had is Kabar to flash at that Biker, I mean he looks like he's about to go in the house and get his 30-30 Winchester and fire a shot, lol.
Will you ever do the actual lego titanic model? if you have the will power and money.
Made on my birthday LOL
There is actually a vintage Titanic model called the Titanic submersible model. It's a model of the ship that is made so it can sink. It was made in 1999 and it came with a book.
Those were pretty cool! I’m referring to toys from the time of the ship though
@@PartTimeExplorer ok. Sorry.
@@alexcruzellor9247 Don’t be! That’s an awesome toy and well worth mentioning
@@PartTimeExplorer I am a big fan of your videos because they r informative, specially your videos about historical events. I am also a big fan of the Titanic and of histobrick.
Please do the official lego set I'd love to see what you'd think of it
Can please Bismarck and hood video
I love these kits but I can’t afford them 😞
When will you review the queen Mary?
were is all the other kits
I would love to see a review of the LEGO Titanic, if you wanna spend the $630 of course haha
Next one up: Brittanic Remastered
Yo I'm wondering does hictobrick have the carl d Bradley in lego if so can you please do a review my great great uncle was frank mays
Hey um do you know what the best way to contact histoBrick about an order
Ahh Yes the cabar knife
I looked on histo and there are great model’s. 100% but they are super like super expensive!!!
I want the 9000 piece monster
Do Lego RMS Queen Mary
sadly my dad can`t afford the lego titanic. because we are moving to a new house soon and the house is expensive. anyways in the USA it cost 275usd. In Malaysia it cost RM1,100. Wish i can have the lego titanic for Christmas.
Tbh i think the brighter red might cater a bit better to younger kids, so both might have a point in selling in two different markets..
Legos aren't for kids anymore it's takes some serious building to make some of these things today
im sorry i called u tom i thought that was ur name, anyway great vid keep it up 👍👍
Idk, considering this set its almost half the cost of the 9000 piece lego one.
I understand that some of the parts are custom printed but £300+ for this set? I’d raver save a bit for the £600 Official titanic that has like quadruple the parts.
Also what about the nomadic? The poor ship has almost to existence on UA-cam
Question is the histobrick sets safe to buy? And how much will it take to get to your location?
Safe in what way? I mean, they’re kits of lego, so don’t swallow or step on them and you should be good. He usually ships via usps, so if you’re in the US, it’s takes a few days.
@@PartTimeExplorer ok
@@PartTimeExplorer I don’t eat or swallow Legos besides I’m in Puerto Rico 🇵🇷
@@PartTimeExplorer so it’ll take longer if I’m in Puerto Rico 🇵🇷
@@justricky12 Hopefully not too much longer, but I think it'd be worth it
rip mic
*HE IS A IMPOSTER!*
I love the kit, the idea, and the packaging, but I simply cant understand why they use Lego bricks. Other manufactuerers, such as GoBricks produce bricks with better quality for a fraction of the price. Oh and the management doesnt want to scam you, like legos
Honestly I'm kinda happy the mic died, the sounds of the leaves and stuff was very good background sounds
It is nice, but makes it much harder to hear the words
tim
The lego kit at least
in my opinion, the whole lego ship should be in one solid piece, not two separate peices...
thomas
Only thing I see wrong is the funnel color
It’s hard to get right with lego pieces
@@PartTimeExplorer true, but overall a solid 9/10
im english soooooooooo not american so its idk how to spell it atameo ima go with that
It is 600 not 1000
Nice, but waaaaaaay to expensive.
meh nope but its defntly not called fall cus im engilsh
The Lego Titanic is 630 not 1000 dollars
Why don't you do reviews on theroller3d models made by Andy & is wife, kids they are amazing models. I have is premium 2023 1:900 scale titanic. 12 1/2 inches long. He also as bath tub models as well.
oh god i just realised ur tom 💀💀
I still think histobrick is overpriced, I understand that there’s some printed prices but £300 for a small model? I’d say £150 as enough.
yeah still a boxy mess imo.
automn shall we all meet in the automn shall we all meet in the automn *titanic sinks*
Its cool and all, but ridiculously expensive. Normal lego sets would be cheaper
What’s wrong with your eye dude?
one final comment, do you think you and you're new team will ever do a 9/11 Anniversary Livestream and Animation, I've always wanted to see something like that.
(Goes to Histobrick website.) Whelp, going to be broke for the next few years!
