    I wonder if the wavy ceiling in the lecture room has an effect on the acoustics, and if so whether or not that was intended as a function of the design.

      You are absolutely correct. The ceiling will help bounce the sound from the speaker towards the audience. There are many examples in Modernist architecture where the acoustic properties of a space is the main driver for the design. Alvar Aalto is well known for his user-friendly and functional approach to architecture. This is a perfect example of how a balance can be found between aesthetics and function.

    Nice video. Did you know that the word aalto translated to English means a wave? I wonder if that might have inspired him.

      Thanks for the compliment Finn! Wow, that's awesome! I didn't know Aalto meant a Wave. I'm sure it would have been part of his inspiration.

    alvar è stupido perchè una normale sedia a sdraio per lui è un'opera d'arte oppure quella chiesa orribile che ha una forma che potresti trovare in un comune palazzo in qualunque città...con diecimila lire il mio muratore la faceva meglio.
