Hey Jake! Are you from Northern California? I don’t host these myself, but a monthly event called “Soulful Sessions” (soulfulparties on IG) happens in Sacramento, and “Rebearth” at Dance Mission, SF and “Days Like This” in Lake Merritt, Oakland happen weekly. I live in Sac now, so you’re more likely to see me at the first event, but I’m thinking about going to the second event occasionally now too.
@@JardySantiago oh wow, thanks Jardy! But no I’m in miami Fl sadly. Though I do have a pal in Westminster California I could bunk with to help make those northern Cali events potentially. So that would be awesome to catch you there, I’ll try to look more into it. Thanks for reply Jardy 😊.
Hey there! Learning while facing the dancer is also a learned skill and once you get the hang of it, it becomes much easier too. Pretty much all of these steps can be started on either foot, so it’s totally ok to mirror my movements rather than trying to start off with the same foot that I’m starting from (which can get super confusing). Alternatively, there are also websites that can flip these videos for you, plus one other thing you can do is face your computer screen towards a mirror to emulate a studio environment. Good luck! :)
I’ll never forget your house dance workshop at Wayne State University years ago. Great to see that you are still putting out quality content brother!
Aw man, I loved that Detroit trip! It was so memorable, I really hope to come back one of these days.

Loose legs is the guagua in Cuban guanguanco dancing.
