Hey :) Just as a side note as I've seen a few comments. This video does not include any story spoilers outside showing a couple of characters in case you have not made it through the story as of yet. When making the series I wanted to make sure to avoid impacting any new players first time through the storyline. Cheers!
@@phaus5815 i dont think its that overwhelming. when i started gw2, the only game i played was temple run. when i bought expansion thats when i got overwhelmee
@@phaus5815 I'm pretty new, been at if for just a few months. Imo, start with the story, preferable with a friend or two if you can. I had the good fortune to get introduced through other friends, and we played the story. They were very patient with me, and there was lots of laughs as I accidentally aggro'd things, dragon triggered off cliffs countless times, accidentally broke the game one or two times, etc. Was a very fun and hilarious experience.
I remember the sense of wonder, logging into the game on day 1.. massive groups of players completing world events.. fighting in huge wvw battles, it was truly amazing.
This may sound weird, but I’ve watched these GW2 videos of yours several times. As a veteran playing since original beta, it warms my heart to hear someone talk so warmly about my favorite MMO game. It makes me want to go back with a new character and re-do the whole story with a fresh perspective. THANK YOU 😊
OMG thank you for sharing, I made the fatal mistake of trying to watch this at work, My colleagues were very suspicious as I kept laughing, Hilarious coverage and as a veteran player., really enjoyed your coverage,. thank you.
After 10 years and a lot of reviews and videos about the game, I didn't expect to find a new one to raise the bar. I enjoyed all of your previous videos, but this "recap" of Gizmo's journey had everything really: funny moments, serious thoughts and opinion, wonderful footage and great edit. Those moments when you decided to let the music speak were also great. Thank you for your take on Fear Not This Night. I'm an old man, but almost cried.
Really enjoyed watching your journey into Tyria. It's refreshing to watch someone so fully engaged with this unique MMO before reaching a conclusion. Minor issue, the Living World episodes are only paid content if you weren't playing during it's release. The content is completely free for players that login during it's release window.
I agree, I played the main story without the paid living story episodes and most of my reactions were : Who the hell is this? Why do I know him? The heck are they talking about?
It's been an absolute pleasure to join you on your journey! And as an aside to anyone who may be discouraged by the Living Story Seasons being additional "paid DLC" in a sense. Keep in mind they can be bought for free with ingame conversion of gold-to-gems, and that Seasons 3-5 are each effectively an expansion but for the fact they don't include elite specs for the professions. Outside of that fact, each season easily contains an expansion-worth of content :)
I haven't played yet, but GW seems very "fair cost" to me. They charge for expansion content that cost a lot of money and effort to create and it works out far cheaper than a sub-based MMO if you don't rush/nolife your way through the content. The full expansion set is < $50, which is less than a single AAA game or ~4-5 months of a typical paid MMO sub. I might be missing something, but this seems fair to me. If I were investing time into this world, I'd feel reassured that there is a working business model there to keep it going while not ripping off players. Have I got this right?
@@paulie-g GW2 is very fair. There's a handful of convenience type things you might want to get from the gemstore (Copper-fed Salvage-o-matic is great if you've bought the expansions so have a shared inventory slot to put it in. infinite salvage kit for all characters) but the game is entirely playable without them (e.g on the salvage kits if you make a habit of keeping about 4 of the basic 25 use kits in your bags, and restock back to 4 when you pass by a merchant every so often, you'll rarely find yourself out of savage uses). Many veterans will keep an eye on the gold conversion, and when it dips down to below 120g for 400 gems, they'll grab a few (note with "custom exchange" button, you get get less than 400 if you lack the gold to get that many) Once you hit lvl 80, if you make a habit to salvage your drops and sell the mats from your bank regularly on the tradepost, you will have little trouble earning the gold to get gemstore shinies when you want them. 99% of gemstore stuff is cosmetic, the rest is simple convenience (again you don't really need the convenience stuff, game is more than playable without) and account upgrades like additional character slots and the living story season (always buy the full bundle for a 20% discount, not single eps via the journal). I make loads of gold, of which I drop quite a bit into gems for skins, but I still drop some cash down now and then as well to support the game. I suppose you could describe it as a voluntary sub except you get neat skins and stuff for it, or character slots, if you decide to put down some cash. But you completely don't have to if you can't/don't want to :)
only an expansion for a F2P game. it is nowhere near a wow expansion. and LW is some of the worst mmo content i have ever tried . both in story and gameplay. if i had known where they would take it, i would never have started in the first place.
If review of the game give you chills, you know its hella worth it. Also cheers to you for one of the most complete yet easy to enjoy videos. Well done PS: i am sold and instaling…. 😂
Off the bat with this game the community and the soundtrack are both incredible!! Within the first few days I went on exploring missions with peole I met in game (especially marveling at traveling via siege trutle haha) and because of that I noticed how well the music changes and adapts to what you're doing and where you are, and the transition from one soundtrack to another is seemless (this is also an awesome thing during world bosses)!! Love the videos and how you showcase the amazing world of Tyria! Hope anyone reading this has a great day!
For FFXIV players I think Guild Wars 2 is the perfect side-game to play during patch lulls. It has a really good story, the second best I've played through next to FFXIV itself, it has a much more dynamic open world to scratch an itch that FFXIV can't with many map metas being an extremely popular part of the endgame, it has more closely-integrated PvP content (crystalline conflict was an excellent addition but like all PvP it's extremely different from how your job plays in the main game) and you can put it down when FFXIV content picks up again with an extremely low level of FOMO.
Its been incredible watching your adventures through GW2! I've really enjoyed following Disco Gizmo's story in your videos and livestreams, and seeing your enjoyment of my favorite game. And you've quickly become one of my favorite content creators. My day is brightened when I see a new livestream or video of yours to watch. I hope we get to see more GW2 content from you going forward, but either way I'm excited to see what's next. Thanks for all the great content!
Dude, you've become one of my favorite content creators, I see your vid, I instantly click it. XD thx for all your work. I Will always remeber the Disco Gizmo journey as a great time. =P

This channel should have subs of at least over a million by now. Mitchmanix is imo the best content creator on this platform by a very long stretch. The amount of work he puts into his content leaves others, including the top hitters, to shame. You deserve great success my friend
Wow. This was probably the most entertaining and best put together review for the game I have seen to date. More entertaining than quite a few movies I have seen lately. You've done an amazing job, putting this together. Well done. And thank you for all those kind words about my favorite game. It was a delight to watch. :)
Had this recommended to me out of nowhere and as someone who couldn't get into GW2, I thought I would watch the first 5 mins and see where it went. Sat completely immersed through the whole thing and incredibly inspired, you are a fantastic story teller and I loved the adventures you had with Disco Gizmo! As someone who ruined the game for myself by using boosts and hurrying to end game, this time I want to try from scratch and explore the whole world instead of rushing. Now I need to decide on my race and class lol
As a long-time GW2 veteran, it was a joy to watch your journey; it brought back a level of nostalgia and missed appreciation that I didn't realize was absent. It is a great introduction to new players and a wonderful reminder to us old-timers of what the game offers. Thank you!
I love this game , after playing wow for 14 years this is a breath of fresh air. You can do it all here pvp, realm vs realm, raids and 10 man content, exploration and world meta events, pure story if you so wish, festivals. So many amazing zones that range from fairly easy to omg wtf hit me lol. It is a beautiful game also, the graphics for being older are amazing, and they are upgrading the engine. It isnt a pay to win game either, the best gear comes from you creating it with materials and achievements in the game. Thats another thing if you are an achievement hunter then you have a whole 50k soon to be more achievements to accomplish
This Video is just amazing and I have to be honest the beautyful end of this great recap of my absolute favorite game actually brought a couple of tears out of my eyes. 🔥👌
A great & fair rewiew as ten year veteran player all i can say thank you Mitch....NOW have completed all the current content You are now ready for the True end game of GW2. Fashion Wars 2
Thank you for highlighting my favorite game better than anyone has done before you. Your character was perfect for capturing the fact it doesn't always take itself too seriously to focus on fun. My only wish is that season 4 had gotten more of a spotlight, because to me, that era in the game was its pinnacle for amazing storytelling and visuals. The trailers for each episode of it were pretty epic too. Living worlds 3 and up are like expansions in their own right with the amount of content offered. They probably should have been sold as such after their completed release, to be more straightforward for those who missed them fresh, rather than the confusing model they chose. But, I guess being able to buy them with gems is the upside.
Loved this video; it's beautifully put together, and the touches of humor are a hoot. I think you hit the positive points of GW2 on the nose and, for me, captured the magic of GW2, in that it has such a variety of things for a player to engage in. After 15k+ hours, I don't think I've yet 'done it all', and still enjoy playing. World vs World is a really fun part of the game that you can easily sink a lot of hours into, it can be full-on pvp while roaming around engaging in duels, or it can be more pve-ish, by scouting objectives or taking supply camps (always some good fights around camps, too) But, I think GW2 does really shine with it's open world events - which seem to be rather unique in comparison to other mmo's. Additionally, many collections and achievements keep players coming back to the early maps, so I don't think you see 'dead' early maps, as much as I've seen in other mmo's. It's a good system. Btw, I also enjoyed catching some of your Twitch streams of GW2. Hope you plan to do more! Thanks for sharing with us!
Someone I use to know always talked about Guild Wars 1, and how great it was! Guess you could say thanks to this video I want to look into it, and try Guild Wars 2. Already looking forward to the upcoming Steam sale next week for the game. Thanks again.
Stellar presentation! Fantastic job putting together/cutting/editing this video, your sense of humour was icing on the cake. In addition highlighting what makes GW2 so enjoyable. Thank you

Truely an amazing vid and story of YOU that journeys deeper within GW2, just well put and really well done, this shows new players how and what is actually done in the game thanks for making this game Bigger as Myself love this truely unique game on his own.
You was either everquest ,wow, guild wars , or runescape..idk if you have covered everquest yet ..but I'm really enjoying your channels content it's real nostalgia trip❤
@MitchManix fair I will look up that everquest one then , cheers.. Your online character , dry humour is top notch my man. Will continue to watch your vids Thanks man
Even though this is "just" the previous videos stitched together, they were all so great that I really enjoyed watching them in one go. In addition to that, this video is perfect for explaining other possible players why I love this game so much, as you captured so many of the great aspects perfectly and in a very entertaining way.
Excellently summarized, and oh man that solo at the end is still so good! GW2 may not be for everyone, but the community we've got is by far my favorite of any game. People look out for each other, and there always seems to be someone around who's happy to help new people get their bearings. It's really refreshing!
WOW! What an amazing video. I laughed at your other series while marveling at how authentically humorous they were and how well scripted and editing they were... but this video was on an entirely different level. As a GW2 player who started PRE-LAUNCH and played for quite a few years and who loves ANET and GW1 and GW2, it's so wonderful to see someone brand new to the game experience and appreciate it so much. Thanks for sharing this with us and I look forward to not only watching all your current videos but watching your new content for years to come hopefully. You have real talent and passion and it shines brightly in every single one of your videos I've watched to date. P.S.: Have you saved all your VODs of your entire GW2 playthrough? Twitch hardly has any left on there and I noticed you've only recently started streaming on UA-cam. I'd love to go back and watch some VODs of your early days in this wonderful game. Maybe you could post them to UA-cam as an unedited "playthrough" but regardless I love you work dude. :D
An 11 year old game that has smoother/more detailed animations than most games of any genre. If one thing made this game age very well, its the animations. I've never understood people saying the game looks dated. It truly doesnt look dated, in fact I'd say it looks better than most MMOs out there. Loved this adventure, this is the video I show people if they're curious about switching MMOs
I just started playing the game around August. Playing the game, it felt nostalgic when I was playing MMO when I was still in high school, staying up all night and grind to my hearts content. But what I love about this game is it respects your time. You can play the game anyway you want and you won't feel left out. You can take a time off the game then come back and things are still the same and/or new content you can play.
I'm a long time gw2 player, and tbh, i can't thank you enough for giving this game a chance and making such gorgeous and awesome videos about it and your experience! Amazing work man
What an amazing objective video on one of the Greatest MMO's, your commentary and opinions are very well done and thought out, plus your sense of humor is amazing. Thankyou Mitch appreciate what you do for the often overlooked MMO community :)
well done, you got me wanting playing it again i only played the "main game" so i got some experience to be done good vid, well edited, good amount of humor, i enjoyed it
The last bit of guitar is the best. its very emotional and thanks u for enjoying the game, to give the game the respect that it deserves.. thanks and I hope u enjoy it more.
Always looked forward to your review of each expansion. Honestly disappointed you've reached the end of them, but thrilled you enjoyed them so much. You captured exactly what makes the game so special, and with a sense of humor that perfectly matches the energy of the game. I still hope we'll get to see more of Disco Gizmo, but thank you again for these wonderful videos chronicling his adventures!
very well made video. playing this game since beta, this is my favorite MMO. I come and go as I please. I got emotional hearing the song at the end "Fear not this night"
I'm just getting back into GW2. I played around 2017 so I barely remember anything and this was an amazing watch with some good funny moments. I will say out of other MMOs I played I truly love the feeling of the world being alive and not just at hubs and things but you get so engrossed that time just flies by.
ive been playing for about 7 years now (with a few breaks inbetween) and i must say that guild wars 2 has actually shaped me to some degree, thank you so much for covering it, your Video on this is more than worthy of the game's marvel and is sure to attract new players, thanks ❤
Your videos and content are incredibly well done. If I was a game developer I'd throw stuff your way to cover on behalf of the company. GW2 is an amazing game and very underrated, your video encapsulates the game perfectly. A great advertisement for the game and ArenaNet. Kudos
This video truly is one of the best I've ever seen. Thank you for this creative, informative and beautiful work. As a GW2 player since open beta, I loved Gizmo's journey. I subbed to your channel and look forward to watching your video library 😊
it was so nice following along and seeing your journey through the game while seeing you out and about and playing with you. Made me so happy you felt at home in the game!
Many are talking about the masteries system on their 1st impression videos but almost no one mentions that they are effecting your account, not just your character. Many afraid to take the wrong class and then delete and lose all the progress. It is important to mention how gw2 allows you to do mistakes without you feel like you waisted you precious time. Alot of new players heard that gw2 respects your time, but didnt see a good example of that before actually playing
Wow. Looks amazing. Played EQ2 a long time ago before I dropped out of the P.C master race. Wish I’d tried this. Love the exploration. Came for the detailed breakdown stayed for the hairdo.
The guitar in the end gave me tears. Thank you for the nostalgia and reminding me (even tho not lost) why I love this game and why I kept playing since launch. THANK YOU. Will you be covering Secrest of the Obscure and Janthir Wilds aswell?
Glad you enjoyed it :) I think I will yeah. Rather then doing like a GW2 in *insert year here* I want to make sure the follow up video has a decent amount of new content to cover 👍
Ah crap. I'd watch the whole video but I'm still a new player and don't wanna get spoiled. I left a thumbs up for you and will have to watch this when I'm caught up!
Been playing 10 years, there's not a single game I've played during that time frame that has even come close to pulling me away from GW2. I can no longer play single player games, at all, as I miss the activity of others around me even if I'm not actively grouped with them. It's going to be hard for a company to create a game that will pull me from GW2, it might be Diablo 4, but I don't know if I can deal with the isometric view any longer after glorious hack and slash ARPG action in full 3D within GW2. Thanks for promoting the game, hopefully it leads to more success for GW2. And I hear, there is a GW3 in the works! WOOT!
Griffon acts more like an advanced glider is a normal misconception in Gw2 before someone has learnt to utilize it properly. One thing to start with is to do a wingflap as you dive with the Griffon 🙂 Instant full speed. I got some videos if you want to see what a Griffon can do. However, I am not nearly as advanced in flying as plenty of my guildmates 😅 Many of them has made tutorials where you can learn to do the same.

Wow, Mitch! This review is second to none my friend!
Stellar presentation! Fantastic job putting together/cutting/editing this video, your sense of humour was icing on the cake. In addition highlighting what makes GW2 so enjoyable. Thank you

(god, how I love your entertaining videos ❤️👍)
Amazing comment mate 😂🥳
Glad to be able to see this game as a whole through a narrative driven walkthrough of the beginner experience. I might try this
this was just beautiful mate!
Amazing video in the end really gave me chills with the epic music and all those moments we experienced in game.
Is there an award process for best content creator in this genre? This video deserves greater recognition, unbelievably skilled piece of work!
Glad you are enjoying it :) I've done a vid on Everquest and Runescape, no WoW as of yet.
@MitchManix fair I will look up that everquest one then , cheers..
Your online character , dry humour is top notch my man.
Will continue to watch your vids
Thanks man
@@MitchManix another good one to do that's quite big is eternal lands
The vods are here friend: ua-cam.com/video/1n5jnbZV3Y4/v-deo.html
@@MissFirefly11 Oh that's awesome! Thanks so much. 😃
I love the sound tracks on GW2
Also a veteran player since GW1 days and GW2 beta here. Just wanted to say, you did a great job capturing the game's appeal. Great videos my guy
Man i wish i had discovered your channel earlier, I got hooked to your content after watching the galactachad supercut.
you sir, deserve a sub. Thank you for this entertaining yet informative morning coffee.
This video is so great, it makes you want to dive into the game immediately. I really love it.
such a well crafted video, u can tell how much effort this took. good job man
An 11 year old game that has smoother/more detailed animations than most games of any genre.
That was so entertaining to watch! Amazing sense of humor and storytelling skills!
well done, you got me wanting playing it again
i only played the "main game" so i got some experience to be done
good vid, well edited, good amount of humor, i enjoyed it
I really love your way of presenting stuff in your videos :) Also I had to chance to play with you on drizlewood meta :)
The last bit of guitar is the best. its very emotional and thanks u for enjoying the game, to give the game the respect that it deserves.. thanks and I hope u enjoy it more.
@MitchManix If you were playing the guitar at the end, I'd really like to hear more of your music!
He definitely was
Always looked forward to your review of each expansion.
Such a great recap. I enjoyed seeing this summary of your journey.
ive been playing for about 7 years now (with a few breaks inbetween) and i must say that guild wars 2 has actually shaped me to some degree, thank you so much for covering it, your Video on this is more than worthy of the game's marvel and is sure to attract new players, thanks ❤
I just re downloaded the game after a 8 year break, thank you for all the videos, they help
You have GOT to release a full version of that song so I can have it as a ringtone. Please!
I truly enjoy Disco's adventures. It is a refreshing as Guild Wars 2. Hope to see more.
Been enjoying your journey through tyria💜 glad you did enjoy gw2 as much as i did :D
【Shades Finnish Pirates】Pretty cool game, guitar solo was humorous and epic at the same time
47 min felt like 10 minutes, very nice video!
WOW! What a video. 👏
I hope someone from ANet sees this amazing video :)
Criminal if they don't reach out to him!
Incredible video! On my way to try the game again since 2012 .
Welcome back!
ooo goodo a Disco Gizmo documentary✨😍✨
I’m new to the game and I’m having lots of fun with it. Picked elementalist azura and I have no idea what I’m doing. Such a joy.
this was a love letter to the game i've spent nearly 4000 hours in over the past 7 years. thank you.
Wow. Looks amazing. Played EQ2 a long time ago before I dropped out of the P.C master race. Wish I’d tried this. Love the exploration. Came for the detailed breakdown stayed for the hairdo.
Great job on this Mitch! Loved it
The guitar cover at the end!! 🤘🏻
great job! really enjoyed, thank you man!
Thank you so much for you streams and videos. Now you know what it's all about. And boy was it worth it. Really enjoyed the ride. See you in Tyria.
Goddammit, almost had me drop a tear at the end of the video
lol the asura character creation is anti-thesis to the seriousness of the intro. well done
God I love these reviews for GW2. 36:07, that face xD
WOOT!
ok that's it, you've convinced me to give GW2 a go. great video
