I will also be starting mine this weekend. Compost delivery arrives tomorrow. Then it’s accommodating c.50 pots in the house, so I hope for temperate weather to get them outside as soon as possible. I have seeds trays everywhere so it’s quite a juggle! Your three grades of medium makes sense. And I agree, peat free compost is hugely variable, and the good stuff is beyond normal people’s budget. Hello Jan, thanks for posting up. Ahh making your own compost is the gold standard. We make a lot but we never allow it to reach the stage where we could use it as a neat growing medium - we mulch our beds with it throughout the season. Sounds like you have things nicely under control, bravo! I hope you have a great season, dahlias and everything else.
