Such a huge difference in the way shaq moves and embiid. Shaq looks smooth and fluid, every time joel takes a step it looks like he's going to snap something.
If Shaq took his health more serious with staying in shape he would have been right behind Wilt Chamberlain in Rebounds , Blocks, and he would have passed Wilt up in scoring... Shaq should be ranked in the top 5 in every statistics category ! Maybe even Top 3 .. With more Championships , MVPs , Rebounding Titles that shockingly he never got but too me he is still the Most Dominant Center Ever to play in the NBA..
I LOVE Shaq but even with Kobe's work ethic, Wilt would STILL be the goat. There are several rule changes today due to Wilt's dominance; not MJ, Kobe (RIP), or Kareem.
Shaq STILL being the last player to 3-peat as Finals MVP should strengthen his case as GOAT center and top 5 ever. It's been 2 decades and the likes of LeBron, Kobe, KD, and Curry have failed.
This man would be a dominant paint beast in todays game, especially if he was in orlando shaq shape. Easy 27/11/3 a game for that man for the next 7-8 years
The fact that Kobe stans use these rings as some kind of differentiator to put him in GOAT talks is hilarious. In one of these finals Shaq averaged TWENTY THREE MORE POINTS than Kobe. + this is some of the weakest finals competition in NBA history lol... the 6ers, pacers and nets? LOL

I also only have him ranked as the 5th best center, behind Kareem, Wilt, Bill Russell, and Hakeem. He’s definitely top 5, but I’d have all 4 of those above him for overall career. Shaq had the best peak besides maybe Wilt tho.
Smits, Mutombo and MacCulloch...of course he was unstoppable. In Miami, he went up against Dampier and Diop. When he went up against Hakeem, not so much.
He was, how about how he get there? The wedt playoffs? Now the real answer is he's n0t. He needed Kobe to carry at least 60-70% of the workto carry him to the NBA finals. Now that is something that anti Kobe cult don't want to be mentioned.
Even before maddog said he was the 5th best center, I already thought he wasn’t all that. It’s the lack of skill and free throws for me🤷🏽♂️. Winning with the 2nd and 3rd greatest SGs isn’t all that impressive
Kobe had Pau Gasol for the other 2 out of 5 championships. Wade had Bron and Bosh on the Heat in the earlier 2010’s. Shaq was the best player on that Lakers 3 peat. He was clearly much better in 2000 and about equal or slightly better than Kobe in 2001 and 2002. I actually agree with Mad Dog, but let’s not act like Shaq was some scrub.
If it wasn't for kobe, Shaq wouldn't have three rings, Shaq could not win a championship for 9 years, until the great Kobe Bryant was with him Kobe stepped back so Shaq could be great, and a lot of people don't know that, cuz they don't pay attention to the sport, as a Laker fan I respect them both, but you got to remember, Kobe was a big factor of Shaq winning three championships. 8 /24

@silewis9396 against a Lakers team with prime Shaq it wasn't about old Pippen vs Kobe it was about old Sabonis vs Shaq. Kobe was gonna get his and Pippen was gonna do the best he could do make it inefficient, but that series came down to if Sabonis would be able to keep up. Not saying he was the best player on that team tho if he were younger he easily would be, but Sabonis was the most important Blazers player in that series.
