A vast amount of horror doesn’t approach the genre in the eerily ominous, slow-burn way TMA seems to go about it. It definitely sounds like something to get invested in. I’ll give it a listen!

My favorite episode is #27, the one where the man tries to cheat death. It's only a one off, but it's such a an enthralling listen and reminds me of those classic fairy tale deals with the devil

I really don't find it scary and I'm someone who can't handle even the most mild horror movie. But that being said it is an enthralling mystery story and the horror elements give a great underlying tension to the mystery and a great sense of steaks.
I love episode #21 Freefall, the one where a dude is skydiving and then the ground vanishes, that episode was when I was like, hey I’m going to keep listening to this also, enjoy sky blue
To be very honest I started listening to the Magnus archives and promptly stopped, I genuinely was so haunted by the first and second episodes that i literally said cos i couldnt stop thinking about it and I'm a casual horror movie watcher, just something about the way they set it all up i guess

*Spoilers ahead* The thing about a "cat playing with it's food" you say around the end really hit me hard when I realized. I guess subconsciously I understood it, but it when it was made explicit to me in the episode about the dark's monster lurking over the person's bed, when it said "the blanket never did anything" is like everything clicked in that moment. I was honestly terrified.
I swear that episode and the episode where Luke’s head was ripped off, ep 63, manifested a deep rooted fear of shadow demons in me. It is horrifying and I love it.

Episodes 16, 63, and 65. I now have a fear of shadow demons. I’m way too old for something like that, but I do believe in regular demons so 🤷🏼♀️
