    Love using him in 23 The Show. Best leadoff man. If he walks, steal 2nd. If he gets a sharp single, steal 2nd. If he gets a regular single, turn it into a double. A gapper? Get a triple. An automatic 1st inning run to be honest.

    As opposed to thinking of stretching a single into a double, Duran’s approach looks like it’s a double, unless he’s convinced otherwise

    A good combo of scouting the outfielder and some speed. Feel like he knows who he can pull this on and who he can’t pull it on

      No one learns how to hit at that age. By then you either have it or you don't. You can develop more power though

    I think this is who they were talking about when they said batter hit a line drive up the middle & the ball hit him in the head sliding into second!

      Our ownership doesn’t really care about the Sox anymore. They are diversified billionaires who own a soccer team in Great Britain and the Pittsburgh frickin Penguins. Fenway pays for itself through tourism and business. They don’t care about the real fans anymore. I will keep following the club because it’s a reflex since my folks moved us to Boston when I was 11. And I’m glad I finally got to see the “curse” reversed and four WS wins in my lifetime. But I’m not expecting anything big anytime soon. It would be super if we could retain Jarren - he’s special. But when Mookie was allowed to walk, the writing was on the wall.

    Plays like this make the game exciting. Wish we saw more of it. Did he get thrown out any doing this?

    • @SoxContent
      @SoxContent  8 місяців тому +8

      He wasn’t thrown out a single time attempting to stretch a single into double this season according to Baseball Savant!

    Now show how many singles he turned into doubles in CF

    • @TwenOalley
      @TwenOalley 2 місяці тому

      This season he's in the 95th percentile for "outs above average" among outfielders, so he's getting to more balls than most people.
      He does have a weak arm tho.

    • @blklbluvr
      @blklbluvr Місяць тому +1

      I saw him nail a guy at home to save the game last week or the week before. Saved what could’ve been a loss into a win. I agree not the strongest arm but he’s not like Johnny “chicken wing” Damon.
