I remember when my oldest brother brought this home in 1970. It was one of his first albums he purchased. This and a few other albums got me hooked on a path in music. He passed away this summer on July 21, 2024. I am listening to this now in memory of him. RIP big brother.
Jack Carney was born August 23, 1932 in Los Angeles and died of a heart attack on November 27, 1984. I believe he died in St. Louis. He attended UCLA, intending to study to be a lawyer, but was enchanted by radio. He was at WIL from 1958-60, and had a short stint at WABC. In 1971, he came back to St. Louis, this time on KMOX. He had a talk show there from then till he died. Quite a man!
I was introduced to the "Cruisin'" series in about 1972, this was the first one I heard and thought it was really cool, still do. In a short time I had the entire collection (at the time) of 1956 through 1962, on 8 track of course! Thanks for posting these, some I am hearing for the first time.
Yeah! The best compilation series ever!

The year Madonna 💋 was born !!! Elvis had the 1# song in America on August 16th '58. 😎
Wait, there are songs played/referenced here that were definitely released post-58. How authentic/careful were the compilers of this series?
These are recreated not original with very little energy
When radio was radio discjockeys were allowed to be on air personalities not the way it is today.
