Farewell of Slavianka is a Russian patriotic march originally written in 1912 by Vasily Agapkin. It gained popularity in the First World War and was even the unofficial anthem of Kolchak's White Army.
During the Battle of Moscow, the song was played during the parade on Red Square. It gained in popularity due to the Soviet film "The Cranes are Flying" in 1957 with new lyrics added, marking the march that most of us hear today.

Even though this song was originally meant for the Tsarist White Guard and was laer adopted by the Soviet Red Army, it's a very good song that is always stuck in my head.
Это песня русского народа. Не важно кому она предназначена - народ решил. Так в России всегда
does this song count as a soviet song or a tsarist royalist song then?
It is strange, but songs with catchy tunes will often get adopted by both sides in a civil war.
It never was meant for Tsarist white guard, the composer Vassily was a bolshevnik and did the soviet version.
@@alexejfedorov427 wasn't the original version banned by the soviet union? en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Farewell_of_Slavianka

Sewcio PL You like when 90% of a population is peasants who cannot afford medicine, and 99% of those peasants are illiterate? You like when progresses in both social well being and infrastructure are met with violent backlash because resources have to go to the royal family and their rich pawns? You like when soldiers are sent to war with the wrong ammunition for their rifles? You like national embarrassment and defeat? You like a famine to wipe out more and more relatives each year? I must be talking to an absolute buffoon, makes sense.
@@user-zj1uf8hs6t Well maybe in Russia it was 90% on the west it was better, but there were kings (same thing). " resources have to go to the royal family and their rich pawns" you can say same about oligarchs/party high members. Wrong amunition is not case of Tsardome but bad organisation/logistic and it's not unique problem for Tsar, there were more situations like that in different countries. And about famine... say it to Ukrainians or Cossacks (Don,Kuban) when communist done they'r "colectivisation" ,holodomor for example.
Sewcio PL You actually just said that the tsardome should be upheld. Then you go back on it and take the position of monarchy. Monarch organization is literally the reason for the shitty organization. Monarchy and feudalism is over with. You want to go back in time before Capitalism and industrialization. Obscure like those primitivists. Holodomor was a heat wave that destroyed grain that swept through several countries hitting Ukraine the hardest. The Weather pattern was exacerbated by landlords hoarding grain, slaughtering animals, burning crops. The tight fisted landlords obviously didn’t want to give up there privileged position in society, so they selfishly decided to starve the society and all of its toilers who seeked to collectivize. 7 million Ukrainians died to the actions of the counter revolutionary bourgeoisie. In the aftermath, the Communists brought many rations and crop shipments from farms within the RSFSR and brought new farming methods and efficient farming industrial machinery setting up the new collective farms. Famines would never happen again until the invasion of the vile fascists.

This is neither Commie music, nor Tsarist music. The music is russian. Doesn't matter the ideology.
@César Correa Fun fact: the composer of this piece, Vasily Agapkin, started his career in the imperial Russian army and then later in the Red Army. He particularly became the conductor of Dzerzhinsky Military Band of the NKVD which performed in the military parades both in 1941 and in 1945. Farewell of Slavianka was also played as one of the marches in both parades.

Quite ridiculous to hear that, as supreme goal of Wehrmacht was to destroy, divide, kill or enslave Slavic people as they were doing until marshal Rokossowski turned out the tide and begun destroying German army in ww2.
