+Killian Just wondering, but shouldn't plastic straws be recyclable? If they're not, then they should be. I'm totally aware not everyone recycles, but I feel like most people actually do or at least are starting to in order to keep landfill off the beaches and out of the oceans. Even though there's no recyclable logo on the straws themselves, they should still at least be considered as something that's recyclable because as far as I'm aware is that recyclables don't end up in the ocean.
But the good news: There is a such thing as Biodegradable plastic straws (and for those who may not know, those go in the green bin--at least in CA, for other states, I'm not quite sure which color your Composting bin is). But anything that is Biodegradable goes in the compost bin. And I forgot where I learned this, but fun fact: Cardboard is biodegradable. For ex: If you're recycling is too full from too many boxes broken down, put the rest in your compost bin.
CherishLife straws are actually recyclable. I studied for a month for this about saving the sea turtles as a school project that’s an article. They are too lightweight so they go into a separate area that goes to trash. And yes, my dad breaks down cardboard for that. I usually yell at my friends for using straws. It’s funny cause like at party city, there is like a 24-pack of plastic, reusable, dishwasher safe straws for like 2 dollars.

Also, oh dang about the reusable straws from party city. I never knew they could be dishwasher safe because most reusable straws are *not* dishwasher safe. When I went to visit my dad a while back in Florida and it wasn't me, but someone had put a plastic straw in the dishwasher where I noticed that it had completely melted from being in the dishwasher, so of course it had to be tossed.
