    I’m 70 now in 77’ was working as Keyboard Guitar Bass Technician for the The Crusaders and in ‘80’81 with George Benson.. Watching this took me back, thinking I worked for these amazing legends listening to their music their stories or enjoying a meal with them traveling.. love the music love the memories..

    George was on a TV special one time along with Stevie Wonder. When George's turn to come on stage came, he wound up walking out on stage looking completely perplexed and without his guitar. A few seconds later a stage hand came out with Stevie and handed him his guitar. Stevie apologized profusely saying he couldn't resist trying it out backstage but he apparently didn't tell George he was borrowing it! These guys really love each other and it was a fun moment in music history. George laughed it off and then just ripped into a song. Masters both. I love the way he is handling this song here. Stevie breaks your heart when he sings it and George does the same thing with the guitar. Just beautiful.

    I have a CD of a concert where George Benson and Joe Sample are playing this song...as well as "The Ghetto". It's awesome to see them here practicing for that concert!

    I knew two sides of George Benson growing up. The singer, and the guitar player. I did not know they were the same person until after I called the Jazz radio station in Philly, and hummed Breezin until they understood what I was looking for.
    He is the master. He uses his thumb like Wes, but somehow, be does more with it. He definitely got his octave runs from Wes.

    Love the juxtaposition. In the studio, on more ‘sensitive’ material, George uses a floating-pickup archtop - one where nothing impedes the vibration of the carved spruce top. While out on big stages, he uses the laminate Ibanez in order to resist feedback. Great playing here, and great musical thinking.

    It's amazing how he Just pick with his thumb and picks so fast!.... He's such a genius on the guitar been a huge fan since I was a little boy listening to smooth jazz stations by mistake thinking it was the R&B station 😆. But I got to appreciate his music early in life as I got a bit older met people who enjoyed as well and levitation to a wider scope of new artists but Benson and his playing will always be my first love and one inspiration for picking up the guitar....thanks George

    P.S. GEoege loves his DYNAMIC microphones instead of Neumann condensers. He did "This Masquerade" with an EV 666,he did his recordings with Bruce Swedien and Quincy Jones with a Shure SM7B, and in this video he's using an EV RE20

      He’s a windy crooner when he is and a shiny belter when loose so I could see him beating up a large diaphragm sometimes and missing the deep bass of occasional proximity.

    Just great. So nice to see Joe Sample in there.
    From reading George’s autobiography he was singer well before he was a guitar player. He also really struggled with the guitar at first. He always got knocked by the ‘serious’ jazz musicians when he ‘starting singing’. GB just sings on the guitar. Aldo pretty sure he is playing his Gibson Johnny Smith here that he used record the album Breezin’.

    You can heard this song in the album "absolute benson" Sunscream1;
    And Jacopoj,Bireli is not only a "jazz manouche" guitarist!!listen what he did with jaco pastorius or even his last album "electric side" , he come from manouche style but he have a lot a different influence like george benson or wes montgomery, Slesspygypsy is right.
