Yes, that's been possible since day one. In the Mac App Store you can switch to "iPhone and iPad Apps" with any search. However, a lot of app developers have specified that their apps only be sold on iPhone and/or iPad, often because they require touch or features specific to those devices (like mobile features, etc).

My M1 SUCKS!! do you have any video on this? Any thoughts. Thanks!! KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK! (Mac user since 1986)

    • @macmost
      @macmost 2 роки тому

That feature how nothing to do with what type of processor is in the machine. Something else must have changed. For the most part, email is a function of the server you are working with. The Mail app is just a "client" that accesses it. Or, it could be that you are using search a little differently now (selecting the wrong space to search in, for instance). Throw away the premise that it has anything to do with M1 vs Intel. Now focus on trying to figure out what else could be different since you moved to a new machine. Call Apple Support or consult directly with an expert if you can't figure it out on your own.

That was interesting. I think for many old timers there was a time when we wanted to be super organized and not have groups show upon the “all accounts” section. Then we forgot about it and now, years later can’t find anything.
Speaking of being organized. Is there a way to turn off sharing to iCloud but be able to share amongst devices with a local router? Additionally, is there a way for the mail app not automatically download email but be able to send?
My reason is, I’ll be traveling in the near future and internet connectivity will be limited, spotty and expensive. So I want to be able to manage data transfer priorities. Any ideas?

If you stop using iCloud, that could cause a lot of issues too. Make sure you know what you're doing. But if you wanna share files without it, you can always use airdrop. Email preferences, general, there is a setting for how often email is checked. Just set it to manual.

Question for Gary: Recently in my Mac mail I accidentally clicked an email from a company and marked it junk. Subsequently, every email from that company name is going into my junk folder. I have clicked on the emails and noticed at the top right there was a tab for, "not junk" and, "move to inbox". I have clicked on both many times to identify the sender is no longer junk but the emails continue to land in my junk email.
Is there a method where I can permanently undo the junk email designation?

I’ve noticed you have to be careful if you don’t want an email to put it in trash. If you mark it as junk then every subsequent email from that sender goes to junk. Moving it back to the inbox usually solves the problem.

    Good afternoon,
It's to continue with the excellent videos, very informative, they work very well!
But if I can ask a separate question, if it's okay.
I have on my MacBook and iPhone, in the email application predefined by IOS, an email from work that I added, which has its own domain and everything else, I had to add an Exchange account.
My question is about the new updates of IOS and MacOs, which has a field to create a domain, in email, if I'm not mistaken.
Is there any difference from the whole process I did in creating the Exchange account and now creating an account with my own domain?
I don't know if I'm able to express myself well. . . it was just to know if there are advantages or not, if it's worth it . . .

Thanks, Gary. I've run into the problems that you've covered in this video. You've explained it all in an easy-to-understand way. Much appreciated.
One issue that I have not been able to figure out for some years now, relates to Calendar. The default reminder is set for 9 a.m. I've tried setting mine to 5 a.m. That results in the reminder notifications coming up at 7 a.m. Don't ask me why ... I have absolutely NO idea. I've searched for ways to change this, but can't find a solution. The Calendar Prefs doesn't allow you to change the default reminder time. I've painstakingly changed each and every reminder (several hundreds) in my Calendar to 5 a.m. only to find that it doesn't work - reminders come on at 7 a.m. And then the event seems to switch back to the default 9 a.m.
It's like one of the circles of hell!! I'd love to hear your thoughts on how to get this to work ... thanks again for all your wonderful videos.

I did not realize that this would wipe out e-mails that I had moved to other mailboxes and folders within Mail.
