I am a turbocharger manufacture from China. I like your video. This turbo is used on Suzuki JIMNY. It's a very nice choice. It's almost the smallest turbo I have ever seen. My suggestion is to put the turbo under your engine. The engine oil must gose into the turbo BEFORE it starts to work.
Your turbo oil drain MUST be at the bottom. You only need to loosen the bolts that clamp the turbine and compressor housings and you will be able to rotate the centre housing. I see others have mentioned a oilfeed restrictor. I use the same turbo on a bike which has 60psi oil pressure and have a 1mm restrictor in the oil supply line. If you do these mods the smoke should disappear. Nice job on the bike

For the people claiming it isnt making boost 1- the gauge is in bars i think.. meaning he is making 2-3 psi from what i saw. 2- give him credit. some people slap plastic turbines on their cars in the name of science. when the question has already been answered. it doesnt work. If anything the fake turbos reduce air into an engine XD, but this little motors can be boosted with the right setup. if u watch the gauge he does make boost, and an engine doesnt jump to the limiter like that n/a ahahaha
@sourand jaded Does this result in an increase in preformance? i thought i was seeing 3 psi maybe no? Im not an expert but it looked to be working to me.
@sourand jaded I think i see what you mean now after slowing down the video. so in basic terms what does that mean? why does it need a plenum for boost? Is it because there is nothing for pressure to build, so it just jets straight in? Again not an expert but i think your saying its not making boost because it cant build enough pressure?
@sourand jaded To my understanding, the timing in a 3-cylinder is even better than in a 4-cylinder... But a 2stroke-variable-lenght-resonance-chamber is easier and cheaper to make, in order to keep boost of a single cylinder always at optimum... ua-cam.com/video/0odVzSgufjk/v-deo.html Automatic system ua-cam.com/video/xgj-_vdcO7w/v-deo.html 12:35 manual system (he changes the buffle-position with a screwdriver, but it´s a proof-of-concept for you to watch)... Chamber-rear-buffle has been moved by 3cm for each run, so torque stays at maximum, but for a higher rpm at each run. Conclusion, by moving the chamber, or even solely the chamber´s rear-buffle, you can match the exhausts resonance-length in a way, that you always have optimal, total combustion (always functioning in resonance with the expansion-chamber, at any rpm, means, that no fuel escapes unburnt through the exhaust anymore), and maximal boost... With simple low-tech, no turbo or cylinder-head-valves needed.
the amount of boost he is making for the size of the motor and valve count is respectable. I have a 180cc 4v makes more boost but that comes down to turbo sizing. great vid.
Looks like the turbo has a dynamic seal for use above the throttle valve not the carbon seal needed for use downstream of the throttle/carburetor.......meaning it will be sucking oil in thru the turbo seal and into the motor whenever its not making boost pressure.
In addition to other comments. I also noticed what looked like the air bubles in the turbo drain going upwards. It might be that there's back pressure in the crank case which is pushing vent air back through the inlet side of the turbo bearing slip rings. A idea to would be to run the drain into a bucket for 30 seconds (don't run out of oil!) and see if it made a difference.
G'day from West Australia, 😉 Think your turbo needs an oil restrictor in the feed line. If you do have one it needs to be a lot smaller. Otherwise you engine sump will end up dry, and a blown up motor with no bearings left. Otherwise nice build, 2 thumbs up from me 🙂👍👍

Damn that’s cool, wonder how much boost you could run on propane with liquid phase injection into the intake (liquid to gas expanding would have a big cooling effect too coupled with the high octane). Or even n/a with maxed out compression ratio to take advantage of it for efficiency,
What's the A/R ratio of the turbo you chose and the impeller size? For a 125cc engine to not induce excessive turbo lag in my experience, you would need the NLA IHI Brand 17mm turbo with a computer controlled electronic wastegate, as this would be the only type that could respond quickly enough to the input signals of this tiny engine. If we go back 30-odd years, Honda had fits with their original CXT500 turbo in what '83 with a 33mm turbo? When they upped the engine displacement to 643cc's in '85 and the turbo to a 35mm and went to a full electronic fuel injection management system, it became a docile, fine running roadster competent to almost any liter plus Superbike sold, with superb handling due to it's lighter weight and mass centralization.
