Summary: Jackson struggles to come to terms with Aaron and Hazel's admission and is frustrated to realise that he has no control over anything. Jackson insists that Aaron leaves. Later, Jerry arrives at Dale Head with Josh and it's overwhelming to see Josh's love for his older brother. Jackson is agonised seeing all of the care and effort that everyone is putting into helping him.
Those final few seconds were heartbreaking. The look on Aaron and Hazel's faces when Jackson said "I want out" - they were devastated.
Danny Miller (Aaron) won the best actor at the British Soap Awards twice but I always thought Marc Silcock as Jackson too did a fantastic job and deserves better recognition. Marc’s acting specially as a tetraplegicis absolutely brilliant. It is such a difficult role and he plays it to perfection. Cheers to both of them

Seeing Jax give Josh a kiss was beautiful. But this is too emotional as you know something is coming. Jax words cut through my heart. Aaron and Hazel have gone through so much. Both are awesome actors.
I've felt exactly like Jackson when I broke my back way back in 85. I was able to walk again and be normal. But now with my Multiple Sclerosis when it took my legs I hated it..yes I can walk but I cant control my bladder. When night falls my legs start to ache deep in the bones and my feet there are times when if I had an axe I would seriously consider chopping them off because of the intense burning and freezing in my toes. so I've thought the same. I cant work either. BUT I wont do anything because I don't take it out on my caregiver/husband and I wont kill myself because that is only giving up and being defeated. I refuse to do that. Thank you to the show

Adam really is a great friend, how he immediately noticed that Aaron was troubled and upset when Aaron came out of the house.

AMAZING!! I love it! The writing was what got me! It seemed very real and everyone react like I'd expect them to in real life. The acting was superb! The interaction between H & J was heartbreaking! I can't imagine what any of them is going through! I love the angst & the emotion - the anger and sadness. I love how Aaron made it very real. You can see the anger he has for feeling like he isn't enough for Jackson! Must tear him up! Definitely right near the top as far as episodes go!! Awesome!
This so realistic that it makes totally forget that it is acting
This is more than powerful. And it is not the storyline, it is the acting performance.
jackson doesn't necessarily need antidepressants, it annoys me that hazel says that first (not the character's fault, but the writers). as a clinician, I know that he certainly needs therapy first and foremost, in addition to a weekly group therapy component where he can get support from others like himself. Medicine might help after that. His depression is understandable but he can't continue to stubbornly wallow in it if he's going to live--but that's another question now.
It was so good to see Adam......it's my birthday today and that was the bright spot for me in this episode......well, along with "Uncle Aaron" in a suit!

When Aaron cries he creates a river, but when Jackson does there is so much pain in his eyes that I just can't take it.
Hazel is in denial yet, I actually liked when Aaron confronted him asking how he was gonna do it, he didn't just shouted at him.
And it's always good to see Adam going to help his mate. Brilliant episode, amanzingly sad but I can't wait for more.

and Aaron and Chas on the swingset... omg, such a great setup, like a mom with her little boy.. too bad she didn't seem like she cared enough to find out what was really up, but nice that she gave him his space

Danny, Marc and Hazel were just simply brilliant.The expression on Hazel and Aaron when Jackson said "I want out" was devastating.Don't know how long I can take this emotional torture.These three actors have just taken this story to the next level... Like most of you, I was in tears...
I just hope the story doesn't go as per what we have heard.I can't imagine Aaron without Jackson and vice versa
BTW was the line an indication of what is to come, "a trip to the seaside"
What kind of message would they be sending about disability if they went through with a suicide plot? I'm all for them exploring the depths of despair that would push someone in Jackson's position to seriously consider, or maybe even attempt suicide. Just like I found nothing wrong with Aaron's attempted suicide plot. If they carry it all the way through to a suicide, though, that says that the severely disabled really have no hope for a meaningful life. I would find that message unacceptable.
these episodes are so hard to watch bc it's so realistic! I feel so bad for Jackson and his mom and aaron:(
What really caught me off guard was how resolved Jackson was when he tells Hazel that he wants out during the last few seconds of the clip. The look of calm in Jackson's face and that of Anguish in Hazel's were just devastating. One of the best acting ensemble ever.

i know people are going to be pissed off at me but I am really really annoyed with Hazel. I get that she cares and its her baby and everything. But every step of the way, Aaron has had the foresight to try and pick up on Jackson's feelings and thoughts but all Hazel cares about is making herself feel more secure by smothering Jackson. Today she kept asking Aaron to shut up when he was the one asking the right questions. She's still treating Jackson like he is a little kid which he doesn't want.
why would he commit suicide when he has no idea what happens after he dies anyway? I get that he probably doesnt believe in afterlife so he's thinking he'll just stop, but how can anybody be sure enough of that to go through with it? For all he knows, he could spend the rest of eternity not being able to move in heaven or whereever, but he won't have Hazel and Jackson with him there.
I agree with you. I’d be too scared to kill myself in fear in what the afterlife is like. Let alone if there’s such place as a hell!

@fierte I'm not pissed at you, I totally agree with you. In one moment when she told Aaron to shut up I told her to shut up. She is trying her best but it's making things worst for Jackson.
7:50 God these actors and writers and directors are so brilliantly realistic.. so much like the conversation me mum and i had a while back almost exactly.. Seein a helpless mum in pain for her child is so hard to sit and watch...

Wow! Again tears. Finally they allowed Jackson to express how he feels and discuss his wanting to die. I think if I was ever in that situation I'd like to die too. No sense in wasting people's time, emotions. It's best. I hope they don't kill him off but if they do, I'll understand.

It's weird to see Jackson before and after the train accident!! It's not same person, now he's angry every time. I understand that but the very funny Jackson was great! I know it's important to talk about disabled people. And Marc is good actor!!

I'm liking Jerry more and more as this goes on. Far from perfect, but I like the way he's growing.
I feel so sad for Jackson. If it were me i'd feel the same way. however, Jackson is loved by Aaron and his family, and he should think about them as well. If Jackson dies, i'm not gonna watch anymore. I'd be to heartbroken to watch

I wish Aaron would stop giving Jackson a hard time about wanting to die. Especially as he’s the reason Jackson is paralysed in the first place! 🙄
I know that people want to see Jackson live but a part of me do think it would be a really interesting storyline if they would handle the subject of "help to suicide'" or whatever the english term for it is. Would be interesting morally if nothing else. Have Emmerdale ever brushed on that subject before?
The look on Hazel's face at the end is just unbearable. So sad. I teared up a bit.
I absolutely despise the writers of Em, First they went and fucked up a perfectly beautiful love story. Then they put us on this emotional roller coaster of tragedy only to pull the tracks out from beneath us in the last leg. UGH!!!
The writers are really gonna make us to dislike Emmerdale eh by killing off Jackson! But I tell you what if they are gonna do it,, then please do it soon!! because I truly don't see a point of keeping Jackson around with his loved ones if all he wants to do is die and not care about anyone's feelings. I mean does he even realize what are Aaron,Hazel and even Jerry are doing for him? They all have tried very hard to help him out but obviously he doesn't realize and instead hurting them!!
This is too depressing for me now. They all may be amazing actors, but it just makes me want to vomit watching the same vapid sadness over and over again.
For me, there was something missing. I kept waiting for a scene minus Hazel where A and J tries to make the other understand.
Otherwise, great performances!

I don't think there is anything Aaron and Hazel can do if Jackson remains keeps this dome and gloom attitude, if he is determend to die he will find a way to do it.

@sanyrub lol Obviously you didn’t read the comment. The acting is exceptional and both Marc and Danny are doing a brilliant job with their roles. The dislike had nothing to do with it being sad, the storyline has become a little redundant and I think killing him off is an easy way out and a dig for ratings. It’s a big FU to the people who have been devoted to these characters. And I agree some people do live in a bubble.

@patroclus33 oh please how long is this gonna last? Because to be honest with you, i'm just not seeing any signs that are showing me that he can continue to cope with the situation! He's already excluding himself from A&H&J, so I really have doubts about having external, skilled people helping him!. Look all i'm saying is that either he's completely okay with facing the upcoming counseling or he continues to exclude himself and becomes more alone and sad that A might leave him eventually:(

@jelj1961 Adam was with Scarlett (Jimmy's sister). Mia came to the village to live with her dad (Declan). They started flirting. Adam broke up with Scarlett and is with Mia now.

@samanthapetrelli Yes they are too many for Eastenders but it´s great both of these boys won it. I think it´s Marc´s first. Danny already won some awards last autumn. Now if only they could win the big ones, the BSA... They deserve for damm sure. And I´m also voting for Pauline as best actress. She has been superb from the start

If you think about, the writing of this storyline is very circular. In the beginning, it was J asking A to confide in him and advising A that not believing that anyone could help him would lead to a sad and miserable life. Now we have A trying to get J to open up to him in hopes of improving J's life and possibly saving him. Did the writers pull out the old scripts change the storyline a litt

@Frankc0619 The writers will transition or end it but they want to milk it for all its worth. After all, this is a daily soap opera and they have years of storyline content to come up with.

@lancasterjd oh i see now, i agree, it was upsetting and this is one of my favorite stories of all times, it would just kill me if that happened, i just wish he would go through the stim-cell(or however u spell it) research thing, i mean what else could he lose?he could get better, or not, and if he died then he gets wat he wants, and him not doing that cuz he is afiad of dieing, makes him a hypocrite.....or some strange miracle and he is healed, either way idk,
