Na, this means very little. Rosenburg's season is still going, so they're entirely match fit. Plus, they played their entire first team in the 1st half against United's on average 3rd team (for the most part) who have just returned from holiday. You can gauge next to nothing from this.

1 - 0 loss to Rosenborg isn't the start we were hoping for. The kids in the 2nd half played much better than the 1st team players in the 1st half, unlucky to concede at the end, although Rosenborg had more chances of scoring. I hope things get better from here. Rangers will probably beat us as well if we play the same as we did today.
On the bright side, Vitek was great, hope to see more of him in the cup games rather than leaky Onana.
It`s a miracle ManU only lost 1-0 in this match. However, Rosenborg is not a joke.

To all the negative stop being stupid, this is a pre season a warm up. This is just the kids playing not the first team, remember that before having a pop at the manager or claiming we ain't ready. Pre season gets players back to match fitness, also best time to seek any injuries before the season starts and also it's useful to get players fit if they being sold. It doesn't matter if we lose this, honestly it's eye opener for ETH to view who coming through to first team.

In pre season games you can always see the young players chase the ball like a schoolyard game. 5 players chasing it, and then just kicking it into each other in such a mindless fashion, just desperately looking to get touches on the ball rather than paying any attention to their training. You can watch this game and point out the few who will never make it any further than a few seasons on the bench at Crystal Palace.
