I myself thought this version was pretty danged good. Good solid picking and dynamics and drive. You have to take into account that the tune is a vocal tune and there's really only so much you can do on it without getting extreme but it was a good version. There's a lot of hate in the world I guess. Anyway, good job on the picking!
Looks like some of the negative comments have gone away/were deleted since they were originally posted, but for the guy who had mentioned something about "where's the melody..." yada, yada, yada, perhaps he didn't know this was done as an instrumental by Jimmy Martin and the Sunny Mountain Boys....pretty much spot on by Lynwood here in this performance.
Thanks for great pickin', Lynwood..always enjoyed your drive and contribution at Rosine, KY. with the Cumberland Highlanders.
I just don't see how that didn't take first place, extremely well played! Congrats on your recent win.
Sounds great! You made me want to learn this one.
So who won first place? I’m having trouble imagining anything better than this.

As Grandpa Jones once said: "He kind of wants to make me, want to make a hen's nest of my banjo.
no fair, he played for Jimmy Martin
