In todays review, we take a look at the GWR Steam Railmotor from Kernow Model Rail Centre. Though I originally wasn't going to do a review, I had a change of heart.

Hi Peter, recently picked up one of these and it is a stunning model, just a quick note the cab roof vent does actually open if you haven’t been told already, it opens on mine and when I found out I posted a couple of photos to my Twitter page and I got a reply from kernow saying that it is a feature with this model, many reviewers have missed it or said that it doesn’t open, kernow do acknowledge though that it is quite stiff when trying to open it.

Ahh right, thanks for that info, I thought that it wouldn't open as is a bit stiff. Will try it out again later

An excellent review here peter, I would have to agree with everything you have said here, kernow really a have done a fantastic job on this one, as I originally said on your running session video it is a model I will look at getting just because it’s such an interesting looking vehicle, I do still have my reservations about the livery on No.93 though, to my eyes it looks more like a red or orange colour compared to photos I have seen of the real thing where to my eyes it looks more like a brown but that’s just me, it’s not something that I’m going to let put me off getting one, definitely one of kernow best models to date, do wonder what other new exclusives they have in the pipeline.

Cheers David, glad you enjoyed. For the shade, I think lighting can make it look brown in some lighting as in other photos it definitely looks crimson, but in other photos it does look a darker shade. I think Kernow have gotten the shade right. Though it will be interesting though to see how the Dapol Auto coach in GWR Crimson livery turns out, I just hope its the same shade as Kernows
