After spending the last three years on my suburban yard I am making plans to moving to the country, getting true acreage, and "expanding". Your site continues to be one of my inspirations. Thanks for the continued updates.
Now we know that living in the Garden of Eden was no sinecure. Thank you all for making this visual presentation of the chores on a small homestead, your gardens and animals look wonderful, and p hope your efforts are richly rewarded.
You have come so far from when you started it has been awesome to watch. And your fairy tail will happen your just slowly building it the way you want it. Great recap of the time.
At times it can be brutally hard, but that makes the good things seem that much better. Living in the Midwest, the winters can be tough but sometimes a bit of hibernating can be a good thing. I always get revitalized on that first sunny spring day by peeling off the clothes and letting the warmth of the sun onto your skin again. It just feels so good and I know how much you love it too. Something about soaking up sun's warmth can really make a difference to your whole outlook. I've been living in the country now for a bit over 40 years and I don't see myself ever leaving. As you get older the hard stuff gets even harder but you just learn to pace yourself. After living in the country for a year or two, you come up with things you want to do, but that would take a couple lifetimes to accomplish. So sometimes you have to scale it back a bit and get down what you can that gives you results, even if it isn't as much as you originally dreamed of. I have found that getting started on things is better than putting them off, because often once you get started, your vison may change a bit and what you end up with is better than what you first had in mind. If you just put the project off, you will never know and allow your vision to evolve. I have found that even things that have to get done, that you aren't looking forward to, can often develop into easier methods with better outcomes. But they aren't easy to see until you get started. It doesn't take long to realize that you will never run out of work!! No matter what you have accomplished, you can almost always revisit it and make it better.
I love the way you have fixed up the place. When I get my settlement next month and I buy the 40 acre's in Mississippi that runs right into the river - I would love for you to come join me and help me with planting my Tropical Fruit Grove . I'm going to start ordering the tropical fruit trees after I get the property and I am going to get a Log Cabin Kit and put it on the front of the property. Who's that man talking to you in the video?
You are a farmer!!!!! Not a farmers wife!!! But, a good farmer in your own right!!!❤ And, a worthy woman for any partner!!! And, attractive as a Siren😊
You should wear a face mask when cleaning out the chicken coop manuer. Especially having to remove it when down so close to the ground with the dust. It can contain bacteria which is harmful to humans.
I absolutely love your story. Your grandparents sound just like mine, with the big gardens, growing their own food, in rural midwestern US, on a farm. I think it would be wonderful to have you on our weekly television show, “Outdoors People“, to you share your experience with our audience. Would you be interested?
Yeah goat math is way worse than chicken math 😂🤣😅 but year's down the line you won't be able to imagine it any other way remembering the joy they've brought you
The absolute definition of a gorgeous strong woman
You are an amazing woman. I love watching what you do, never give up.
So glad to see you show a reality check of what homesteading is really like for a lot of people new to the life. Nicely done! 🤠
Thanks so much!
Thank you, Young Woman!!! This episode only served to make me feel more impressed of your strength and intelligence.
It's nice to see a wooden bowl being used and not a plastic one, I'm a wood turner by the way so really appreciate seeing a nice wooden bowl.

A lot of that stuff costs a small fortune. Be aware of that of you decide to do any of this.
It can be, but knowing where to find deals where you can and others who trade helps
