The instructor at my school brings his Izzy to school every now and then, he drives a Ford focus Rs... and when he asked me to help him load his marimba into his car I was surprised with the fact that all of it fit...
UGH!! Being a Hornist and Violinist (if you don't know about the Horn we're known for being blendable and getting strong, soft.. and really under chord or beautiful melodies or Harmonies. So something like this brings peace to my and others mind XD ) this is perfection in my eye! I've always wanted to play Marimba's and man!!!! Just eases my mind! Do you just do reviews (I'm new here. First vid! ) or can I give a song you can try to learn? There's this song from the Santa Clara ( Drum Corp/Profession marching band) that is beautiful and I'm curious on how it would sound on this gorgeous instrument!
Musician Friendly It is indeed a beautiful instrument! I do all kinds of percussion videos but yeah send me the song, I'd be interested to hear it regardless 😀
@@AdamTanPercussion I'm guessing they meant Send in the Clowns. It's their classic post show tune. It's gorgeous as gorgeous can be. Here's an address to the video: ua-cam.com/video/GB8VxlYVl6s/v-deo.html
I am trying to decide between a Marimba One Izzy with Enhanced Keys and Basso Bravo Resonators versus a Malletech MJB. I haven't played on either, but have heard that the Malletech has a better bass end, and the tunable resonators are really nice. What do you think? Why did you choose Marimba one? Thank you! Love your videos :)
Wonderful video! Thanks for posting. Now I can't decide between the aged copper and the black resonators, they're both quite stunning! I would like to ask, what made you go with the traditional resonators as opposed to the Basso Bravo ones?
Ahaha it was definitely more out of necessity, basso bravo costs an extra $5k or so for me! They do sound great though, and I do personally prefer the copper in real life as it looks more suited to the finish of the resonators ☺️
I absolutely love your enthusiasm for performing as well as for the instrument itself and everything about it! I only wish I lived nearer to you as I would love to have you as a teacher!!
Do you know if ordering from Steve Weiss will guarantee the marimba to come with the copper resonators? I've ordered an Izzy from there recently and we've gotten no word on what the resonator color will be, even though on the marimba one website, it says that that color is exclusive to Steve Weiss
Thanks Anna! I do sometimes let my students play on it, but only with my mallets because I know they haven't been too worn out. I play it the most though of course ;)
Yeah they're so expensive. But if you ever want to get one Majestic has good prices on padauk wood marimbas. Their 4.3 padauk is 2,600 (which is relatively cheap). Rosewood is waaayyy more expensive tho
Austin Shoupe Awesome man, I actually wanted to buy an Alpha at first but I bought the Izzy because it packs down a lot easier and the cases are really nice. Also (I know I'm a bit biased ahaha) the service from Marimba One is more personalised than Adams cause they have a small company mentality even though they're becoming one of the big ones now. In terms of sound I think they're pretty close, the Alpha actually sounds really nice! I like the frame better on the Izzy for the gas lift and the rock solid hardware though. So yeah really down to personal preference, I like both 😀
Adam Tan thanks! been playing on one of three marimba ones for the last 10 years, so feels weird seriously considering an Adams. but the alphas are so pretty...
interesting points ,if anyone else wants to uncover try Corbandy Simple Instrument Crusher ( search on google ) ? Ive heard some pretty good things about it and my co-worker got amazing success with it.
+popeye sailor Hahaha, there will be more! Marimba One will be releasing a whole lot of new concert percussion gear in the next few months though so stay tuned ;)
I just saved up a loooot of money over the last few years - I'd only managed to buy it during my 5th year of university so it did take a while! No loans though, I am proud of that :)
Can you recommend a marimba for more marching style muisc? I am interested in doing WGI type activities but I am not really sure what brand to search for.
Unfortunately I don't know much about marching instruments since I'm a concert percussion kind of guy ahaha, but I do know that Majestic make a synthetic 5 octave with a road frame that's pretty popular for marching :)
Michael Coonce - Just curious, have you found a marimba for marching style music? When performing in a Drum Corps I used a Premier marimba. It's nice and loud for outdoor playing but it's also nice for indoor use. I loved performing on it so much I bought one after my drum corps days. I'm now ready to upgrade to another marimba so I'm selling the my Premier. Feel free to let me know if you may be interested in it.
Dallin Benson If you are interested in obtaining more information about the marimba I own and see pictures and the like, please feel free to contact me at sdy03@juno.com

I will get a marimba one izzy in 8 months! I‘m really excited!
Imma get a Majestic padauk 5 octave in like 6 months 🙂. Will probably be the happiest day of my life when I get it
Pascal you got it now???
5:29 that's exactly what I first did when my school bought their Izzy! Students lined up to do it😂
+Tom Baxter Hahahaha #justizzythings

After seeing the production quality of your review, they should! Great job!
+Daniel Zell Hahaha, maybe one day... Thanks for watching :)
@@AdamTanPercussion this aged well😌 congratulations! (I’m assuming this is surrounding sponsorships and whatnot)

Did it come with cases? I’m getting this instrument pretty soon and if that’s the case(no pun intended) then that’s an awesome deal
what mallets did u use? looks like innovative percussion?
I think they were ITs :)
however,a marimba one marimba costs me more than 200000 yuan (about $30000)in China
Almost cost me that much as well! :| #outsideofUSAproblems

I'm so jealous of your marimba +_+
nathanpiazza I love it! ahahaha
Omg I'm really wanting to buy a marimba or vibraphone. Maybe later when I have a job and space to place one lol
Absolutely man, it's a lot more rewarding when you get it yourself :)
Great video! How much is it? I am looking for a Marimba to put in my studio
oh well, I found this marimba at a music shop near me... it's price was €21.499,-
It's about $15k USD but sometimes they do deals on demo versions :)
nice!! way better price!! We have import rights and extra taxes for non europe stuff... so that sucks pretty hard :/
Hahaha me too man, here in Australia I paid about 1.5x the amount for taxes and shipping -_-
Love your vids! Do you let other people play on your marimba, for example students?

Makes sense. Thanks!
How much is it cost to purchase that nice standand marimba
Imagine owning a marimba,i could never. (It would hurt my wallet)
i don't even have a wallet lmao

in the market for a marimba.... debating between M1 and the Adams alpha. why should I spend an extra grand on a marimba one in your opinion?

Pretty sure with the new price cuts that M1 made, the M1 is considerably cheaper than an alpha.

One Chord? Thats it? I wanted to see you play. I wish Marimba One would do drum corps equipment.
+popeye sailor Hahaha, there will be more! Marimba One will be releasing a whole lot of new concert percussion gear in the next few months though so stay tuned ;)
I'd really rather them not. I REALLY don't like the sound of these boards and don't think it would work well outside.
Any advice on how to save for one of these? 😂
Well, I had to save for a looooong time hahahaha
How did you come to afford this? Did you have to take a loan?
I just saved up a loooot of money over the last few years - I'd only managed to buy it during my 5th year of university so it did take a while! No loans though, I am proud of that :)

I want one sooo bad!! As a fellow Australian - how much did it cost you and how/where did you get it cause all the websites are confusing me!!!
I also figure if it ends up at about $22,000 I may aswel just get one from Optimum percussion which is nearby.
