Bakersfield resident for 40+ years here. I used to test the water at an environmental lab. The results were over-the-top levels of E. coli. I think it also had Giardia and some other pathogens you do NOT want to swim in. Since then, I warn my friends to not swim in that lake. It's a pretty nice park though. You can hear coyote pups at night, as well as some other nocturnal critters. My club uses it every year to hold a big event in October. Another good camp site in Bako is Lake Ming. I think that one's a bit cleaner.
I'm not surprised. When I was a teenager we had a boat, and I'd waterski/wakeboard/slolem. It was SO FUN! But I noticed afterwards my shower started growing orange mold. So this checks out.

As a pest control technician that lives in Bakersfield, I may be uniquely qualified to address a lot of the reviews, as well as some of your own experiences at this campground. Let me first admit; I've never camped here, or even visited this lake. There's a great lake (Lake Isabella) about an hour's drive into the mountains where the temperature stays about 5-10 degrees cooler throughout the summer. Most residents of Bakersfield travel for camping, during the summer, due to the excessive heat. For lake camping Lake Isabella is the way to go. Now to address all of the pest concerns, let's start with the flies. Unfortunately flies are very hard to control, but it seems they are probably taking steps to do so. Per state and federal regulations you really can't use any broadcast applications of pesticides anywhere near bodies of water. The next best options would be fly bait, applied in shady or high odor areas (like restrooms), followed by traps. I'd imagine they probably are using both methods if your experience was relatively flyless. Okay, now let's talk about the mosquitoes. Over the past 2-3 years all of California, but the Central Valley in particular has had a SEVERE mosquito problem. This problem lead to many county's vector control departments to create initiatives to reduce the mosqito populations. There are a lot of methods they use, alongside private pest control companies, to mitigate these issues. So far in 2024 the mosquito problem has been very minimal thanks to all of the hard work everyone has done. It seems like you visited during peak conditions! If you'd like to know more, I'd suggest starting here: www.kernmosquito.com/wide-area-mosquito-larvicide-spray-wals-treatments Now let's take a look at those spiders. The first spider you showed was a jumping spider, the second a cellar spider (aka daddy long legs). Neither are harmful to humans, and as you correctly pointed out, they do a lot of work controlling other pests. Please folks, if you see these spiders around your home do not kill them, relocate them outdoors, you can safely handle them with your bare hands. On the other hand Bakersfield is rife with black AND brown widows. Both are marked with an hourglass shape on the underside of their abdomens. These spiders can be very dangerous, and untreated bites have killed people in the past. The good news is, if you seem them or their strong, wirey webs you will not be bitten. Most bites occur when someone picks up, or reaches into a crevice of an object where the widow is nesting. They don't just drop down from above or chase people. Alright, sorry this is so long, but we have to talk about the burrowing rodents. The one depicted in the review you showed was in fact a gopher, but I'd suspect there to be ground squirrels present too, as Bakersfield is completely overrun with them, and some of the holes you showed appeared to be squirrel holes. There's pretty much no excuse for this infestation other than a monetary one. They should have someone out weekly gassing these holes, which would be very pricey. Unfortunately, due to camper's pets and carnivorous wildlife, there's absolutely no way they could legally use rodenticides, which would be the cost effective solution to the problem. Either way they need to eat that cost or take the risk of being sued over serious injuries. Finally, the roaches. This will be short, but informative. The reviews stating that they saw "actual roaches" not "water bugs", well that's just silly. Water bugs are actually roaches. Roaches come in so many different forms, but regardless, any that you see at a campground are entirely harmless to people, they're just part of nature. Hopefully the campground is having the restrooms regulary treated for them, but other than that, there's not really anything to do about them or to worry about. I hope this essay comes to help at least one person. 😂
Unfortunately a lot of the issue isn't the visitors, although everyone should do their part in disposing of THEIR OWN trash! But the bigger issue is infrastructure. Everywhere has the same issue with inconsiderate people leaving refuse in their wake, but many cities and counties take better care of their parks and nature sites. Kern County really just does not commit enough resources towards this cause.

Thank you for your channel, as a camper I love your reviews. As a resident of Bakersfield and a frequent visitor of BV, sorry. It’s not the best but not much camping in Bakersfield to begin with.
Yep spent a summer camping at a lake near my house, weekdays Mon-Thur peaceful, quiet and restful. Friday & Saturday the party crowd was non stop, they even set up a disco. Sunday morning people were loud but cleared out. The showers were broken, no big deal as I would stop by my house after work shower, do laundry, back to camp ground. Rangers got used to my routine of leaving the campsite at OMG in the AM to get to work and coming back latter, and seeing hubby coming and going. The Rangers even did more drive byes the campsite when we were both gone. They knew I was working but trying to get in some chill time. Never caught a fish but had fun anyway. Best darn non vacation working summer ever. 😂
Good job going to the camp host for backup. I would’ve done that to begin with rather than trying to explain to them. Those jerks knew what they were doing and trying to get to your spot with better shade. You have every right to stand up for yourself tho! You are very kind.
I think the story about the hobo eating a severed leg was that another hobo got ran over by a train and then another hobo was eating it and smiling while law enforcement was responding. Either way, I've had some great times at this campsite.
You should totally review the Las Vegas circus circus rv park. Iffy reviews but so there are so many entertaining things to do along the way and once you are there you would still have a blast.
Yes they definitely have a ground squirrel problem at Buena Vista. I usually fish the back at Lake Evans. Well the one time I did fish Webb i was prepping my kayak and gear and made the mistake of leaving my windows down. When I went to drive to the boat ramp my ceiling was black with flies. I don’t know why but it’s only at Webb. I never really had that much of a problem with flies at Evans.
Another great review. I make it a point to avoid Bakersfield at all times, but thank you for braving that lovely place. Sorry it actually lived up to the two star reviews and you didn't get a good night's sleep. Looking forward to the next one!
I live in Bakersfield and used to go to Buena Vista Lake as a kid in the 70's. I hate camping for all of the reason given for the one star reviews of the place. So are people saying there are actually places to camp where there are not flies and mosquitoes, no noisy neighbors, and clean and functioning bathrooms????
Another great and entertaining review, I don’t understand people’s laziness on throwing their trash away. Keep it up Jordan! BTW what editing software do you use?
It’s been years since I’ve been to this lake, but I staked out of camping spot in the day use area, put up my canopy, went for a ride on my JetSki and when I came back, they were people set up underneath my canopy with their chairs and using my canopy like it was theirs. Never went back.
LMBO!!! Told you dude buena vista kind of rough...that was hilarious!!! Love it now to wash that experience from your soul hit camp edison shaver lake well done keep them coming. Glad you survived your interactions with the locals and good choice woodales is where i go aswell...
What are you thinking, Bakersfield is the Sphincter of California for a reason and Fresno is the armpit. Living SLO county on the coast we get to experience the best that the Central Valley has to offer ( such nice classy people with great attitudes, manners, hygiene and the ability to really maintain when consuming alcohol) But I will say that they do pick up after themselves. I can’t wait for the next 3 day weekend, Hugs and kisses from Pismo Beach.
@@karrpoollane thank you, come to SLO on a Thursday early evening we have the #1 rated farmers market. 1/2 market and 1/2 food vendors ( Tri Tip cooked over red oak)
Haven't been there in decades, but I have lots of fond memories of it when I was a kid and teen. As a "campground", it might just be sufficient, but for boaters, it is a great place. I loved jet skiing, riding sea doos, and even canoeing and kayaking there, and the swimming is not to bad. Did you know when jumping out of a boat at 50 knots, the water feels like concrete? But still, try to think of it as an aquatic recreation area, and not so much the landlubber aspect of it. Bring a proper boat next time! +1 for the Wood-Dale Market. Great selection of meat for grilling. Have you heard of "Lightning in a Bottle?" It is similar to a Burning Man event, but much closer. Perhaps you could revisit Buena Vista next year and do a review as you open up your chakras? Great video...I would give it 5 stars, but alas, I can only give it 1 thumbs up and a comment.
I feel like it would be a blast with a boat and a RV with AC. I think I’ve been launched from a raft at 50 mph so yeah. I have heard of that. Thats cool that they brought a festival to Bakersfield. I’d check it out.
I did a review of this campground about a year ago and the exact same thing happened to me. Someone was in my reserved spot. The staff offered to make them move but they had multiple tents set up and breakdown would have taken hours. I picked another lakefront spot because it was crazy hot and I wanted to plug in my RV and get the AC going.. I wouldn't give the campground a 1 star rating but I doubt I'll be back. It's a decent spot if you have watercraft. You can dock right next to any lakeside campsite.
Hey there... I have lived in this area all my life and can count on one hand all the times I have WILLINGLY been at Buena Vista. I have heard so many horror stories from that area going all the way back to the 70s. Then you have the polution in the lake, I recall reading about record levels of e-coli in it as well. They also have the Lightening in a Bottle event out there each year... Kern County's answer to Burning Man, and each time they have there seems to be some drama.
Sad lake Buna Vista doesn't exist considering it was 5x size of lake Tahoe when it was there, family homestead by lake Kern 2x size lake Tahoe when it was there
Love the video bro! Lots of 1 star campgrounds in this state. Some of the five star ones need to be evaluated though. Everyone raves about the lodgepole campground in Sequoia but I'm here to tell you it's not. Campsites are built on top of each other, and it looks like the park service never cleans its bathrooms. Sometimes even dumps are surrounded by beauty.
I think having outdoor showers would be better, those bathrooms are scary! Also it's sad that Bakersfield use to have water slides on white Ln. but was torn down. At Buena Vista leg found in water, expect to pay fee to enter.
This is why i don't like going to these type of campgrounds. People like those 74 people would ruin my whole time being there. I just wanna be in nature w/out obnoxious people nearby.
Born and raised in Bakersfield, thankfully I managed to move away just after the pandemic. But I grew up fishing at buena vista with my dad. Never camped there though, we always left town for the coast to do our camping. It was common knowledge to not swim in that water. And we never ate the fish we caught. It’s a shithole for sure, but I have a lot of happy memories there.
"Uneven ground with holes, flies and other insects." Well what do you expect when you go camping? A 5-star hotel? Buena Vista is a fine location (for locals), but it's definitely better with an RV/Trailer. My biggest complaint, if anything, is the nearby gun range isn't really ideal for camping.
Diapers! need to watch for diapers. The water is that color because of duck poop do NOT drink Lake water. Bathrooms look x10 better now. Saturday & Sundays are crazy loud & busy. Unless your the big party making the noise. Definitely not a camp if your wanting to relax.
Yeah I agree. I just learned a little more about how bad the water is. There was a big group singing Journey’s “Don’t stop Believing” late into the night when I was there.
I think I would ask to have another spot, far away from the spot stealers. They stole your spot, what other unscrupulous activities might they engage in? Such as purloin your palmolive? Whole plan would have been ruined for me. I would have asked for a refund and aborted mission. Kudos to you for sticking with the plan and surviving the maiden voyage of the SS PoolKarr. Looked rough.
Thanks for the review. I’m not big on swimming in lakes or streams, but a body part wouldn’t stop me unless it was suspected there was a person-attacking creature in there.😂🦈🏊🏽♀️
I used to go there as a kid especially when we lived in Taft so lot of good memories but I agree with it being quite trashy. On a note of that missing person in car being found. Not long before I took a picture of my bike, which ended up up being very close to where she was found. In fact if her car was sticking out of water, it’d probably would have been seen in my picture.
No need to be embarrassed if you paid and reserved the spot you are entitled to have your spot The correct thing to do is ask the front desk person which spots are available (not reserved) to avoid problems
Pretty sure the people knew they were in the wrong site, but they wanted free shade so they decided to play dumb until they got kicked out. Plausible deniability.
We’ve watched all your videos pretty much and look forward to more, also in Balch park we just went last week for the day, it was empty very nice, only bad thing is someone released a whole bunch of coy fish into the trout pond, there’s 2 ponds, it’s cheap it’s in the sequoia national forest.
Just up the road from this place is trimmer lake recreation area. I showed up and it was the same thing, two families in my spot, they knew it, they wanted to give me $20 to take another spot and that was a no go. They had kids so I thought maybe things would quiet down around 10, 11 maybe midnight or 1 , but it was nonstop crappiest music I've ever heard and a lot of drunk yelling " NO HECTOOOOOR. DONT DO EEEET". On top of that, the vault toilet looks like it hadn't been emptied out in weeks. There was literally shit overflowing the rim. I had reserved the spot for the week but by that next morning, I was out of there and didn't look back
Ew you came to Bakersfield😅 me personally I would never camp anywhere in Kern county. Always go to San Luis Obispo. Me and my wife really enjoy your channel and we are visiting some of the sites you've been to in San Luis Obispo in the next few weeks to a month keep up the good work can't wait for the next episode
I personally would not camp ANYWHERE in California below 7000' Nasty people do not like altitude. And just mho Buana Vista is a toxic mudhole. Lived in B town for 30 years got smart 12 years ago and moved to Colorado at 8000'. Love it.
I use to camp here every summer one summer a beaver made its way to this lake and was building a damn when they installed that pipe that every slides on
May I suggest investigating the camping at O'Neil Regional Park in Orange County someday?! It's relatively cheap to camp there but it has some bad reviews including it being unclean, having a spider infestation, sketchy people, even police patrolling and harassing campers!
LOL - Have stayed here! On drive down south pit stopped for one night. Ponied up the money for a west side shoreline campsite. Confirming the squirrel hole hazard ⚠️ For sure a place you’d find a body part floating, and not out of the realm the whole enchilada. There in the early spring - 95°. Night view across the lake with lights in the distance and full moon - spectacular. Won’t be back. Great review!👍🏼

Sounds like a good time.
Good job going to the camp host for backup. I would’ve done that to begin with rather than trying to explain to them. Those jerks knew what they were doing and trying to get to your spot with better shade. You have every right to stand up for yourself tho! You are very kind.
Thank you. I was just shocked at their idea of where the spot boarders were. I was like this is pure delusion.
I think the story about the hobo eating a severed leg was that another hobo got ran over by a train and then another hobo was eating it and smiling while law enforcement was responding. Either way, I've had some great times at this campsite.
😂 perfect 👍🏾
Yess this actually happened in Wasco, not Bakersfield lol
I’ve been loving these videos. Keep up the investigative work!
You got it Greg! Thanks for watching! 🤘🏾
We take our sail boat on Lake Evans (the smaller lake next to the main lake.) it’s always super empty. Absolutely no shade at all though.
Haven't been to BV in years! Ants used to always find their way into our trailer there! Loved having the water to cool off in though.
Yeah I’d love to have fun with a boat out there
You should totally review the Las Vegas circus circus rv park.
Oh no! Thats horrible 😬
I hate camping but I can't stop watching your channel. Keep up the good work.
😂 thank you for watching
Another great review. I make it a point to avoid Bakersfield at all times, but thank you for braving that lovely place. Sorry it actually lived up to the two star reviews and you didn't get a good night's sleep. Looking forward to the next one!
Not all heroes wear capes right 😂? But I did actually enjoy the lake and it was prettier than I thought but not pretty enough to forgive experience.
Hahaha I have yet to camp at any place that doesn’t have at least two of those things
These videos always make me laugh. And reminds me why I never camp in developed sights. Dispursed or wilderness camping 100%.😂
Right? I need a good dispersed camping trip soon.
@@karrpoollanecan’t wait
Thanks for the tips and will be steering clear of this spot.
Another great and entertaining review, I don’t understand people’s laziness on throwing their trash away. Keep it up Jordan! BTW what editing software do you use?
Sorry for the late reply. I appreciate that. I use Davinci Resolve
It’s been years since I’ve been to this lake, but I staked out of camping spot in the day use area, put up my canopy, went for a ride on my JetSki and when I came back, they were people set up underneath my canopy with their chairs and using my canopy like it was theirs. Never went back.
Sounds about right 😂
Glad you’re still alive
Me too 😂
Good to see you back in action Jordan…Hope life is treating you good
Thanks Deborah. It’s been a busy and tough month, but I’m doing my best. Thanks for the support.
Absolutely. Hang in there. Your videos are great and make so many people smile. Thanks for being you.
I kinda expect flies and bugs when I'm camping in the nature.
You’d be shocked at the amount of people that are surprised by them 😂
@@karrpoollane 🤣🤣🤣 I think those type of people need to stick to Glamping 😆
I’m from Bakersfield been there plenty of times and enjoy it
I love slo. Love when people are able to maintain whilst consuming alcohol. Xoxo pismo
@@karrpoollane thank you, come to SLO on a Thursday early evening we have the #1 rated farmers market. 1/2 market and 1/2 food vendors ( Tri Tip cooked over red oak)
Can’t get much worse than BV 😂 Appreciate your sacrifice for the content, brother!
Thanks for watching 😎
Hello from NYC 👋🏽Not sure why this video was recommended to me, but I gave it a view and found it very entertaining. I think I’ll watch a few more 😃
I did a review of this campground about a year ago and the exact same thing happened to me.
No way! 😂 I should have asked to be moved lake front 😂. I would love to have a RV and Boat for that campground.
I live in Bakersfield, and if you thought the camp ground was bad the city is worse. Lol.
Good to know 😂
Can ya believe they throw a whole music festival there in May?
I don’t know how the youths survive it. 😂
Sad lake Buna Vista doesn't exist considering it was 5x size of lake Tahoe when it was there, family homestead by lake Kern 2x size lake Tahoe when it was there
That is sad.
Yeah these campgrounds have all kinds of different ratings depending on where you look. Good to know about lodgepole.
Wow cool my hometown info. I always want to know what’s going on. Love this and am subscribed and liked video😊❤
Thank you so much for subscribing and liking the video. 🤘🏾
Great video bro! Thanks for exploring these places for us camping lovers😅
No problem friend. Thanks for watching!
Huge fan of the Karrpool Lane! Was telling that guy parkes your videos are good I enjoy em!
Steibbbss! What’s up buddy! Thanks for being a real one. Unlike Parkes 🤝🏽
0:53 this actually happened in Wasco, CA. about 30mins north of Bakersfield!
2:46 heads up In the valley some folk take those Spanish land grants seriously 😶🌫️😋😉
I felt it 😂
I think having outdoor showers would be better, those bathrooms are scary! Also it's sad that Bakersfield use to have water slides on white Ln. but was torn down. At Buena Vista leg found in water, expect to pay fee to enter.
I think they charge extra because of all that. 😂
Wow you don't look old enough to remember the water slides😮
Yeah I think I’d actually have a great time with a RV.
Honestly this only sounds good during fall/winter time when all the mosquitos are gone and the sun isnt brutal
His name is Micah Holsonbake and his family has had to find his body in pieces since 2018. RIP MICAH
That’s a different case. Thats the Bakersfield 3 case. Which is also Tragic.
Diapers! need to watch for diapers.
Purloining my Palmolive would be the last thing they’d do 😂 🥊
Thank you for another great video and review.
Oh the good ole BV watering hole😂 I live here and haven’t been to that lake in at least 13 years.
Would you go back?
Eww 🤢 gross you live here?
People are just babies. Stay home and turn on the ac. Camping is for people that enjoy the outdoor not babies that are scared of mosquitoes 😂😂😂😂
Amen
Thanks for the review. I’m not big on swimming in lakes or streams, but a body part wouldn’t stop me unless it was suspected there was a person-attacking creature in there.😂🦈🏊🏽♀️
Yeah I agree 😂
I used to go there as a kid especially when we lived in Taft so lot of good memories but I agree with it being quite trashy. On a note of that missing person in car being found. Not long before I took a picture of my bike, which ended up up being very close to where she was found. In fact if her car was sticking out of water, it’d probably would have been seen in my picture.
That wild!
You should check out Holey Meadow, Quaking Aspen, Lower Peppermint, Balch Park, and any of the other campgrounds near Kernville and Porterville.
They good or bad?
@@karrpoollane They are good. In beautiful locations. More remote, though.
Balch park 👍🏽 it's pretty nice there
No need to be embarrassed if you paid and reserved the spot you are entitled to have your spot
The correct thing to do is ask the front desk person which spots are available (not reserved) to avoid problems
Thank you 🙏
Pass on this place 😂 Raider fans aren’t budging 🤦♂️😂🔥
That used to be a great place back in the 90s
Wood-Dale Market is Bomb! The staff is awesome and all the meat is fire!🔥 I highly recommend this place.
Sooo good! I love that place!!
I don't camp there but the heat is expected in the summer, it's more of a family group type of place.
Would be fun with some sort of floating vessel that isn’t a mattress.
Pretty sure the people knew they were in the wrong site, but they wanted free shade so they decided to play dumb until they got kicked out. Plausible deniability.
born in bakersfield and you handled that family very well by grabbing the workers they would have never gave them up and put up a fight
I appreciate it. That’s so true. I’ve got another Bako campground coming soon 🙃
Watching this one right now, there is nothing nice in Bakersfield. Hart Park is kind of Okay, but yeah. Your brave 😂 😊
Thank you for recognizing my bravery 😎
@@karrpoollane Definitely nothing nice in Bakersfield!! Also we recommend Big Sur have you been?
We’ve watched all your videos pretty much and look forward to more, also in Balch park we just went last week for the day, it was empty very nice, only bad thing is someone released a whole bunch of coy fish into the trout pond, there’s 2 ponds, it’s cheap it’s in the sequoia national forest.
Just up the road from this place is trimmer lake recreation area. I showed up and it was the same thing, two families in my spot, they knew it, they wanted to give me $20 to take another spot and that was a no go. They had kids so I thought maybe things would quiet down around 10, 11 maybe midnight or 1
, but it was nonstop crappiest music I've ever heard and a lot of drunk yelling " NO HECTOOOOOR. DONT DO EEEET". On top of that, the vault toilet looks like it hadn't been emptied out in weeks. There was literally shit overflowing the rim. I had reserved the spot for the week but by that next morning, I was out of there and didn't look back
Thanks for another good video and love the humor.
Thank you for watching and loving the humor. I appreciate it!
Imagine trying to enjoy the outdoors and there’s flies and mosquitos OUTSIDE
Unimaginable 😂
Need to try Meeks bay in Tahoe the tent side .bring your bear spray. Also try yellow jacket camp ground .
I’m hoping to get to Tahoe next month 🤘🏾
Ew you came to Bakersfield😅 me personally I would never camp anywhere in Kern county. Always go to San Luis Obispo. Me and my wife really enjoy your channel and we are visiting some of the sites you've been to in San Luis Obispo in the next few weeks to a month keep up the good work can't wait for the next episode
Happy to help. Thanks for watching. Tell San Luis Obispo I said hi!
I personally would not camp ANYWHERE in California below 7000' Nasty people do not like altitude. And just mho Buana Vista is a toxic mudhole. Lived in B town for 30 years got smart 12 years ago and moved to Colorado at 8000'. Love it.
Wind Wolves isn’t bad at all.
Whatever Kamala voter
Thats what out doors camping is there’s gonna be pest and uneven ground that normal you want no pest go to your backyard
I use to camp here every summer one summer a beaver made its way to this lake and was building a damn when they installed that pipe that every slides on
Oh wow. Thats crazy 😂
May I suggest investigating the camping at O'Neil Regional Park in Orange County someday?! It's relatively cheap to camp there but it has some bad reviews including it being unclean, having a spider infestation, sketchy people, even police patrolling and harassing campers!
Oh yikes. I’m excited for that 😂
LOL - Have stayed here!
😂 “won’t be back”
Thanks for watching 🤘🏾
Good old jail toilet. I lost it 😂
😂
might need a tetanus shot after that table jumped out and attacked your toe with a rusty screw ahahaha
My toe is still healing and it’s been a few weeks 😂 I probably should have
I’m from Porterville like 50miles north of Bakersfield there’s a park Called Balch Park up in the Sequoias 1 of my favorite places it’s like a piece of heaven the camping might be crazy packed in the summer but the scenery alone is amazing huge!! giant red woods some fallen over hallowed out you can go inside them some standing you can climb inside 1 cut in half you can climb inside an see through the top you gotta check it out dfg plants trout there June-July it’s closed in the winter but man you gotta check it out they have 3 ponds an a small waterfall in the area with a river that cascades down just the stars at night are cool to see being so high up it’s a awesome park to visit n camp
That sounds amazing! I’ll add it to my list.
You should check out the San Luis Reservoir campground outside of Los Banos
Is it good or bad? I’ll add it to my list🤘🏾
@@karrpoollane Welllll... There are only like 15ish sites and they are all on the waterfront and there were only a few people there when I was there (last April on a Wednesday). The firepit where I stayed had beer cans, panties and condoms in it. the only bathrooms are outhouses *like the construction site ones. However being parked with my Tacoma 5 feet from a personal site beach and watching the sunset over the reservoir was honestly amazingly beautiful!!! Its full name is San Luis Reservoir Madeiros. Oh and the host was extremely friendly. Keep making these awesome vids and hit me up if your ever near Los Osos/Morro Bay area I can point you to some awesome spots!
A long time ago before covid this lake used to be quiet. Now a bunch of people for some reason wherever they came from crowd up the lake
I mean kern county, the leg was Wasco, the lake is more Taft area.
