Excellent. It’s fascinating to see how big a role the inland waterways play. The pace and positivity of your content is very restful and restorative. Thank you for sharing.
OUCH on loosing the footage! We have visited that area by car, train and bus and were looking forward to seeing the video from the boat! Oh well, the loss of video gives you another reason to go back on that route. :)
Yep, that hurted. And because I was testing, some of the footage turned out 'ok' and other was really bad. One (at least I not) cannot make a story with just the port cam facing backwards. I guess "I'll be back".
Henk, your new video format is much easier to watch without all the translation boxes, VHF frequencies and subtitles. Making each episode a continuous travelogue accompanied by your narration. Very interesting country you are travelling through with accompaning vessels and a mix of rural and town landscapes. Excellent! Thanks!
Ahh a lovely Sunday morning with Henk, Sunday being the day I watched this video. Also coffee with Henk but no cookie 🥠 The journey was very interesting. Just noticed how crowded the buildings are, packed to gether like sardines along the canal. So until the next time Henk, thank you for the video.
Another enjoyable video. I love the way you keep us informed of the local traditions. It still amazes me how precariously low to the water levels the houses and farms are. Thank you and i look forward to the next one
Hi we really enjoy your new format. We were really looking forward to you visiting Leeuwarden and Sneek as we have been to both of them when we have been on holiday in the Netherlands as well as other towns and cities.
Thanks Henk, great to see that, we did that same trip on our last visit and video, I think we spoke to you when we were there last year but you were up in the north at the time :-). We usually hire a boat out of Alphen. Andy & Chris.
Great that we have some new footage. Thoroughly enjoyable. Please reply and tell me the name of you favourite cookies that feature at "coffee time". Wondering whether I could buy in the UK. Happy cruising.
A Big Mergpijp cookie consists of biscuit dough with a filling of raspberry jam and butter cream. This is covered with marzipan and with the ends dipped in chocolate. Google for mergpijp cookie and you will find out that these are also available as dog food, but as you can imagine I promote the cake version.
Between both I lived 15 years on land. When searching for a boat (see ua-cam.com/video/wWgQCH9jwBQ/v-deo.html) I decided to skip sailboats. I would live on it more than I would sail and with the mast up it's almost impossible to sail her in this area. Now that I am heading for the Med in spring 2025, I still am very happy with the Trawler. Although being on my own, I love the space. The sailboat always felt like camping.
Hi Henk-Jan, I always love to watch your lovely videos. They remind me of sailing Dutch waterways some 50 years ago. Of course I only had 2 weeks of holiday every season on a chartered boat. By the way: for the last episodes I realized less resolution on the main camera filming while you are on the rudder. Or is there something on the lens. The camera looking strait forward alsways has the best resolution. What is the max. resolution you memorize and upload to UA-cam? Anyhow, continue the way you do! Stefan from Duisburg
Hi! We are going from norway to flensburg next monday and the following week. Living in norway we are trying out boating in germany for the next years..😊 have you ever tryed going over the northsea in your yacht? Western part of norway are great place for boating.😊
Well… have a look at the video of season 3 of my trios to the UK and my experience with that part of the Northsea. Half of July I am heading to Denmark and will go to Göteborg and perhaps more up North, but that depends on weather and my schedule.
Very nice destination in Sweden Henk-Jan. I was going there and north of Gothenburg last year with my motorboat. I hope you will have calm and stable weather there. When you have strong westerly winds it is not an easy and attractive coast for sailing with a motoryacht. So keep some days spare just in case.... Have a good journey.
@@bas6983 I have also been in Uddevalla twice and somewhat further north to Lysekil. Especially the trip down there through the fjords was amazing with some very narrow passages through the rocks.
@@LadyLiselot maybe it’s me but I’m getting footage from inside the boat in 360p so you look fuzzy 😂😂 my settings are for highest picture quality and other videos play in 4K . I’d be interested to know if anyone else is having the same problem? Thanks for getting back to me though.
Mooie Urker Henk-Jan.... gebouwd in Waal (Langerak)

It’s great that you always try without the thrusters, good on you! Good seamanship 😊 Great video and such a lovely country to cruise through, thanks!

Yes, we call them ‘polders’ and people live 3 to 5 meters below waterlevel. Typical for the Netherlands.
I do love your videos and the scenery is very beautiful.
Great video. I look forward to the next
Nice video again, but just a detail at 4:05 : canoes ??? Please, rowboats !!!

Quick question, having had a ketch sail boat and now a trawler, which do you prefer? Loving having your travels back on UA-cam, thanks 👍🏻

I love your videos so much but why are you shooting in 360p for the video quality? Please go back to a higher setting
I do not. It’s all HD. Maybe quality of the footage from PTZcams is less. You mentioned that before, I have to work with what I have.
