Out of all the slx series reels the mgl is the best one in my opinion I own all 4 models including the newest slx a model released last year the new 70 series is gonna take the place of the mgl this year I have been Shimano loyal for close to 30 years for reasons why dependable and reliable and built like tanks…………….
I really enjoy my SLX. I was a big fan of the old green Curado and Citicas. I’m not too much of a brand loyalist and use and try reels and rods from everyone. Shimano definitely does deserve their loyal fan base those. Thank you for watching.
Idk I've found the mgl 70 is a good all round reel. I use It to throw finese style baits really far. The dc xt if you can order one from Japan is also a great reel.
I agree 100%. I looked at my 150 size spools and I always put backing to not waste my main line so I typically only put a 100 yards of main line anyway. I love my 70 for everything. I have not tried any DC models yet but I plan to.

@@ChanceBrownFishing slx dc xt is way better than the regular slx dc. Being able to fine tune between dc settings makes the dc xt s9mething special.
