- Here's how to use reaper's media explorer to play samples
Control-alt-X or cmd-opt-X to open media explorer
Search for a sample sound that you like
I'll use this one ( I download most of my samples from Cymatics.fm )
Right click to say insert into sample player, Inser sample player on a new track
Close the media explorer
Open that FX
Click on obey note-offs
Change it to note semitone shifted
And then Detect Pitch
Close the FX
It's about that simple
Bro you sampling the regular show intro pretty much 😂
However, the running time of the sample changes with each note. So this use of the samples is definitely not the same as in the Reaper Media Explorer! Because if I transpose a sample in the Media Explorer, the running time of the sample remains the same...which is not the case in your example. 😉
If you want the samples to play the same length of time, the set RS5K to sample mode, not semitone mode, and follow it with ReaVoice in the FX chain.
@@DThompson55 Can you give me an example, please? I don't understand it. I just tried it, but you can't transpose note values with the same sample duration using the keyboard. And to be honest, I don't know what to do with the ReaVoice.
@@DThompson55 Reaper was acting up for me earlier, which is why it wasn't working. Now after restarting my computer, it works. You're the first person to give me the tip about ReaVoice. Thank you so much! It's a good thing I watched your video short clip. Buddy, I'm really impressed because the quality of the Reaper sampler with real-time transposes is much better than the TAL sampler. With the TAL sampler, the samples often start to clink and distort after the 3rd note up or down...but with Reaper, the quality remains pretty stable even when going up or down an octave. So thank you again! 😉👍
@@3d-marabu Glad to help. My usual chain is RS5K, then ReaVoice, followed by ReEQ or ReaEQ.
@@DThompson55 I am totally enthusiastic about the ReaSampler. Up until now I had always neglected it because I had no idea what it was capable of. I have the TAL Sampler... well, as of today it is most likely no longer of any use because it cannot achieve the same highly professional quality.
