Having driven both MaxxPro and MATV, I can vouch I felt safe in them whenever I rolled out of the wire and into highway IED. Much respect to both soldiers.
Now the taliban have this amazing technology at their disposal.
What a shame.

Why did it take such a long time to figure out that armored vehicles must be mine resistant, and protected on all levels including the gunman, so many soldiers sustained horrible injuries in the humvees.
Military vehicles must be impenetrable capsules. Why didn't we have this back 50 years ago, it's just thick metal armor hooked up to rotating bearings, thick glass, and extra metal reinforcements and other protective elements.
So many people could've have been saved.
how do you get to drive the mrap? what rank? or MOS?

Awesome! I'm so glad these guys have such a vehicle! Don't know what it costs, but I'll bet it's just a fraction of what we spend supporting illegal aliens every year so it's more than well worth every penny.
