I'm pleased that you're wise enough to listen to the folks who advise you from their personal experiences. Wish I'd asked for more advice back in my younger years. We're now 60 years married and living is a struggle. So, get extra joy from your young years ❤. The lives of the Doss family brings me joy.
I just want to be clear on how much I love the shorts of your whole family. I watch and rewatch on all platforms so y'all will keep putting out more lol
Nice seeing Rae with you Chad and to see both of your excitement over the new house build! I hope you don’t cut any corners to get the house situated because it will be there for a very long time! By the way you’re doing a great job with the shorts! Your sense of humour and the animals - win, win! ❤
Love the big back porches on the floor plans. I can just imagine you sitting on the porch with your morning coffee overlooking the pond. Adding a breeze way to the cabin is a great idea to add extra bedrooms.
The land looks great, the house would look good with the back porch facing the pond so you can sit, look at it. The front looking toward the front of the property. Sorry for the loss of the chicken. Take care, enjoy yourself ❤️🙏👋👋✌️✌️🙏❤️
Always a pleasure to see the beautiful Rae. I love her chocolate melter & chocolate dipped strawberries is one of my favorites! Everyone I know plus myself will advise you that bulding a house is very stressful especially on a relationship & I hope you 2 will be exempt. I enjoy all of your videos whether full length or short. You & your animals make me laugh!
Make perfect sense to map out the areas. I added a 20’ x 30’ room to my house for a craft room. I started with several sizes and cutout the various machines, cabinets, etc. to determine how large it needed to be.
Once you figure out where you want your house, its no problem moving the little house. Thanks for sharing. God bless you and your whole family...🙏❤🙏❤🙏😊🙂😀
Lucy!😉😉😀😀😇😇Sounds like they need some NEW BOARD MEMBERS---find people who will become more involved and pay attention to the county members! (run for an opening yourself!) The cabin would make a fantastic shed, storage area for all your tools, where you still could add a double door system that you could keep the lawn mower in and other garden/tools. A shed like you built for the cattle would be okay for the tractor and implements. You could also make part of it into an extra bedroom-guest or eventually Case's man cave! You have so many ideas and changes and options, so whatever you finally decide will be perfect for all of you!
Going through a house build is stressful. Take your time on your final decision. Yes it may take time, but it really is best to know the property. I wish you all the best of luck on your decision.
I would worry if my kids were in a building that isn't connected to the house. I think that putting in a breeze way will make you feel better about the boys in their own house.
Take your time Chad. Like you've said- you live in a nice home. It's not like you have to get out in 3 months! Hopefully this will be your & Rae's forever home. Love seeing all the animals. Blessings on your Family 🙏🙏🌹 Love 🌻 from NC 💜
For the water trough, place a cinder brick in the trough, and the chicken can use it as a step to get out. I used to lose birds all the time until I added the block.
Chad and Rae, you have accomplished so much on the farm. The land looks beautiful and the animals are happy and content. There is nothing wrong with changing plans. The house plan looks beautiful. Thank you for sharing your plans with us. 💕
You might want to build your storm shelter the same time you do your cement base for your house. Just a suggestion. You all do so well at planning things. God Bless you all.
Loving the shorts Chad. The nice thing about that shed is no matter what, it will make a great place to camp out in, a great office during a house build, with a bathroom, storage for gear and tools at one end, or the coolest hangout space for a teenager at one end with a guest room/office at the other. Or any mix of the above. No matter what, it is a great investment. I'd throw a covered and screened in breezeway where you could bbq and picnic between the buildings you could L- shape it off the house and punch a door in one end. That way it wouldn't block too many windows of either building. Love that you are taking your time and getting the feel and flow of the land and seasons before diving in. God bless you guys and keep ya'll safe.
I agree, I'd put the new house where the small house is..and I would stay away from a slab or run the water and electric in the attic...cause it sucks when you have a leak and have to dig up things...love the videos bro...
Great seeing Rae with ya!! I agree with ya 100%, stake out the house and put it approximately where the tiny house is. Put a deck off the back looking over the pond, great view while your grilling steaks!!
So good to see you and Rae on the farm and listen to your plans. I'm excited!!! 🏠 Sorry you lost one of Magneto's babies. Love those chicks. Great video Chad. Love you guys!! God Bless! 😘😘
Stake it out it will give you a true perspective of how the two will work together. Breaseways are a awesome tool to give the family defined but separate spaces to work with. You and Rae are right on, young man. Keep on the good task.
Hello Chad & Rae You two are so good together I believe you could accomplish most anything you set your minds to doing!! I think The house should definitely go where the cabin is currently sitting at...It will all fall in place & come together Enjoy your day & thanks for sharing!
I just recently started watching you guys and I find it so easy to Bing watch you guys all day. Love you easy going family. I have watched so many videos I'm afraid I'm going to run out. It's nice to watch a G rated video.. Thanks for the content. I'm a 70 year old granny and I've had a total knee replacement. Your videos are making the rehab time easy to tolerate. Thanks
We bought a house built on a slab with copper lines through it. Built in 1965. In 2000’s had hot water leak in the slab on living room. Capped it off and ran overhead. Now I live on a slab with PEX lines through PVC piping. A connection at the shower sprung a leak, the water drained down the PVC and out to the outside at other end of PVC. Saved soaking the inner part of house or under the slab. I highly recommend this arrangement.
I love your channel !!! Yes , listen to your viewers' advice . You have no immediate need to build your new house as you already live in a very comfortable home . Take your time and once you finally decide on the build and the location of your new home - then do it and you'll never regret it . We bought the land , 68 acres of black loam and 33 acres of trees ( fruit and hardwoods ) but the old house on the land was not a good looking home as it had a very definite lean to the south and the west . This was okay with us because we had already decided when we bought that we would build our new forever home . So we replaced some old rotten boards in the floors of the kitchen and bathroom , threw down some plywood and some peel and stick tiles and lived in that old leaning house for 2 and a half years . Then the members of our community helped us to build our beautiful new home . Almost half the community were Amish and the other half were Mennonites . Lovely people who accepted us '' youngsters '' even though we were Catholics . Our build cost just about half of what contractors had quoted us and the skill , experience and knowledge that our community brought to the build was priceless . We built exactly where our community suggested and never ever regretted it .
Small world my Dad's birthday was May 29th, sadly he passed before his 61st birthday. One of the big reasons I left California for Texas and started homesteading.
The Plans are great for 2 bedroom , I am assuming you will add another bedroom for your oldest boy and the two younger boys will share. I would suggest possibly adding another bath. Love the front of the house. The open plan reminds me of a cathedral, beautiful.
Rae's eating those strawberries like I did when I was carrying. I wanted everything strawberry. I'm looking forward to seeing the staked out area for the house. You may decide you want it bigger or smaller.
Great video💛 Moving the house to around where the cabin is will be better cause of the water run off that goes to back of property. You need to walk the property once you move the cabin just to make sure on where to build.
I love the plans y’all are good together. God bless you and your family and your farm family. May you new house be blessed and filled with love and happiness. 🙋🏻♀️♥️🇺🇸
Chad when you were breaking the ice with your feet while filming i kinda held my breath for a second thinking oh crap he's going to bust his a** and fall into the water 😂
Greetings from East Texas! Progress on the Property is looking great! Yes! Home builds are stressful! My Kids are moving into their new Home next month on 20 acres. Started out initially as a big Shop building … morphed into their home. It’s essentially been a Family Build. I’m so excited for them. Peace and Blessings to yall
My favorite videos are with you and Rae. The look you give to the camera when you’re teasing her or telling a fib makes me laugh out loud every time and Rae is such a sweetheart. My 4 year old granddaughter likes the videos with your little boy wandering around with you. Something great for everyone to watch, thank you.
I hate to tell you …… the boys will never ‘get out of your hair’. Lol Just look at you parents, Chad. Actually, they begin to be best friends and you enjoy having them close. 😁 I do wish you the best. Kyle is building a very nice building out of that free lumber! Cool.
Hi Chad , Rea , Chase , Carter and Adler the transformation of the land is amazing also the location for the house perfect and if you are concerned about to much water you could put a French drain around it also a crawl space is good idea and sending a prayer of good health, love, happiness and may God bless all of you always great job love your Canadian subscriber Kevin James Stout in High Prairie Alberta 👍👍👍
You should use the green and white metal stakes to mark the pad layout because it gives you a better visual. When you have the excavator build some storm and root cellars also.
If you decide not to add the cabin to the main house, maybe you could move it and yard it as the shop. And just add a carport type for the tractor etc. Looks great out there. Good to see Rae. God Bless you all❤️
You can do the same thing for indoor rooms as far as stick & string. I used to draft and cut out furniture to move in the space on graph paper. May help Ray get used to the size of the rooms.
I love the floor plan, only for me, I'd take the plan's screened porch out, move up the second bedroom, and bathroom, and make the laundry room bigger. Then, screen in the two side decks...but, it's not my home! lol I love that you are getting closer to your dream! ❤ God bless!
The main n no. 1 thing is making sure before you do the foundation is making sure no water stands there with heavy rains it's Always priority to see the land a full year so ya'll are doing great n I agree with a crawl space also... We're not young forever n as busy as life gets the less hassle of axcess to such as plumbing with freezing temps n power has lines is a must. Stay safe humble n Blessed
If you can, go with a crawl space. You will not regret it with the water your land gets plus another layer of insulation is always a plus, not to mention water and sewage line repairs, etc.
You are so cute together, Thanks for sharing the videos I enjoy watching them and I go over and watch your dad and now brother and his wife. Others you talk about so nice
You 2 are just too funny…Thanks for the chuckles and thanks for taking us along on your journey. We’ve got 58 acres in SE Michigan and I’ve learned a lot from you. God Bless.
Just want to drop in right quick and just say hi. Truly enjoy your channel and I don’t think I’ve ever seen your sweet wife before. I’m usually watching your videos and clicking the thumbs up, but I normally don’t leave a message/comment. But I thought I’d do it this morning before I head out and get my chores done, it’s always fun to see improvements and things moving along and other peoples lives living out away from the cities. Anyways, y’all take care many prayers and blessings for your family.♥️
Since sheetrock and plywood are generally four feet wide. If you make your rooms divisible by four you can save having to cut the width of the sheetrock, etc.
Listen to one another. That's what makes life easier and happier.
A crawl space also allows for easier plumbing and ductwork for heating and air systems and future maintenance on such systems.
I'm pleased that you're wise enough to listen to the folks who advise you from their personal experiences. Wish I'd asked for more advice back in my younger years. I So agree!❤
I love the animals and it is fun watching a young family making their dreams come true.
I love the shorts and regular prayers for fox, Jason's family and selma
I just want to be clear on how much I love the shorts of your whole family. I watch and rewatch on all platforms so y'all will keep putting out more lol

If it were me... move your cabin and build the house there, that way you are facing the pond without anything in your sight
Agreed
Love the big back porches on the floor plans. I can just imagine you sitting on the porch with your morning coffee overlooking the pond. Adding a breeze way to the cabin is a great idea to add extra bedrooms.
Just wow how amazing the farm looks now and it was good to see Fred too ! Sure miss him but hopefully you will get a calf soon that will be like Fred!
Where is Fred?
Love seeing "Fred" on Rae's sweatshirt....I love mine (turquoise)
Use the Cabin for your workshop and place to keep the feed for the animals.
The land looks great, the house would look good with the back porch facing the pond so you can sit, look at it. The front looking toward the front of the property. Sorry for the loss of the chicken. Take care, enjoy yourself ❤️🙏👋👋✌️✌️🙏❤️
Plans will always change but we just adapt and go with the flow.

Staking out where your concrete pad goes is a very good idea. Rae is right that it was hilarious when you tried to read your Mom's text.
Rae those are the best kind of shows.. I love the shorts too
I enjoy your shorts. It was nice to have Rae in the video. We don't get to see her very often. Sorry about the loss of the chicken. 🙏✌️🥰🇨🇦

I think the idea of putting the cabin perpendicular to the house that you've had earlier would look good with a breezeway attaching them.
Good evening from Syracuse NY everyone thank you for sharing your adventures and your farm
That's right my friend

Awesome video! Love all the Doss families shorts. Blessings from Proctor Minnesota!
Bruce is in out up down around under on off and repeat. There’s never a dull moment. TFS it’s fun hanging out especially today.
So nice to see Rae! Miss seeing her smiles and hearing her giggles!
Love your house plans especially the huge back deck.

I'd use the shed as a laundry room, pantry and storage
It is Good to change your mind, you grow and learn so much more . Blessings
The changes you’ve made in the property is nothing short of amazing

Great video💛 Moving the house to around where the cabin is will be better cause of the water run off that goes to back of property. You need to walk the property once you move the cabin just to make sure on where to build.
I loved seeing Rae out with you for a change! I sure hope you get those coyote! Well sounds like you guys have some great plans.
Maybe once the house is built have the tiny cabin attached by a car port between the house and tiny cabin.
I love dipping strawberries too! They are the best. I do up a big tray and keep in the fridge so I can nibble all the time.
I love the shorts! Awesome to see you and Rae!
I love the plans y’all are good together. God bless you and your family and your farm family. May you new house be blessed and filled with love and happiness. 🙋🏻♀️♥️🇺🇸
It's always nice seeing the couple together in the videos.
I enjoy your shorts and videos. Love to see Rea. God bless you both 🙏 ❤

Hello from New Zealand
Love the biscuit and gravy sign.
I love the shorts. I see them in Facebooh and instagram. Gives me a chuckle in the morning.
Good evening Rae and chad

Just like a waiter/waitress, always waits to ask questions when your mouth is full lmao. The shorts are hilarious!!
Can always bring some soil or gravel and build up the area where house goes to elevate so is higher than standing water or run off water
I have enjoyed this video and the shorts.
You 2 are just too funny…Thanks for the chuckles and thanks for taking us along on your journey. We’ve got 58 acres in SE Michigan and I’ve learned a lot from you. God Bless.
You and Rae are so cute together!
YES I LOVE YOUR ‘SHORTS - THANKS ❤❤❤ HUGGGS
