Oddly enough, the message of this song is still relevant after nearly 40 years...
it will be relevant as time goes on, because the end game will always be you (family line) ruling over the world.
Of course it is , it's in our nature as human beings. It will be always relevant.
80's music in many ways was never my jam.
Tears for Fear is a gem from that era though, and this song especially. This song is a masterpiece and this cover is excellent.

My friend introduced me to Leo on a long-ass ride home from Miami to Orlando. I listened to a ton, but couldn't see the video on his phone (driving). Yeah, I'm home now and I love it even more! haha

I remember when I was first learning drums at about 16, I really listened to them in this song. Though I'd heard it for years I realized how they're actually much more complicated than I had thought. Really made the song for me after that. I just thought it was a cheesy 80s song with a straight up 4/4 rock beat when I was really young.

The movie Real Genious is free on You Tube right now. I watched it yesterday for the first time in years. The original is used at the end of the movie as the kids rum in to play in all the popcorn.
Rewatched Heavy Metal from '81 te other day and I'd really like to see what a truly metal version of Veteran of the Paychic Wars would sound like. There's a few out there but they don't have that magic Leo seems to add to songs.
