ICG seizes heroin worth Rs 600 crore from Pakistani boat in Arabian Sea enroute Sri Lanka, 14 nabbed

  • In a breathtaking operation, the Indian Coast Guard on April 28 carried out anti-narcotics operation. Based on intelligence input, the anti-narcotics operation was carried out in the Arabian Sea. ICG ship Rajratan, which had NCB and ATS officials embarked, identified the suspected boat. Speaking on the successful operation, Gujarat DGP narrated how the whole operation unfolded. Approx 86 kg of Heroin worth Rs 600 crore was apprehended along with 14 crew from the Pakistani boat. The operation was carried out in coordination between inter-agency wherein ICG, ATS, and NCB carried out successful operation. The Pak boat along with its crew has been apprehended and is taken to Porbandar for further investigations. Notably, Indian Navy in coordination with NCB seized drugs of over 3300 kg off the Gujarat coast under Sagar Manthan-1. ICG and ATS have led a total of eleven such successful operations in the last three years.
