    This review might have put me off the game had I not already bought it. I'm glad I bought it.

    @Astro-VR-Gaming is that the woojer vest 3? If so, how is it with the psvr2? Great video btw.

      Yes, and it's great. I went with the Woojer since so few games support b-haptics, and honestly, I prefer the rumble of the Woojer vs. the buzz of the b-haptics. When I play without it now, I feel almost disembodied, it adds that much to immersion.

    WARNING A LOT THE BUGS HAVE NOT BEEN FIXED. especially after the 1st behemoth. Had to reload a mini boss 6 times last time and that's just 1 of the many issues

      I'm sorry to hear you had a buggy experience. As I said in my playthrough, other than some texture pop-in in the second biome, the only major bug I encountered was during one mini-boss where she spawned into the floor. I died on this boss quite a few times, and for me, the bug only occurred the first time. Also, as I mentioned in the review, there were a few occasions where it felt like an enemy weapon would phase through mine while blocking; I think the combat just needs to be tightened up in general. While I did have fun with this game, it certainly fell short in many aspects.

      @TheVRGamerDad Yee course everyone has a different experience, so just letting the people who see it know
      Are you talking about the mini boss that screams?? Cause that's the mini boss I had to reload 6 times lol. Either she was stuck in the ceiling, completely invisible or when she done the scream, sent me flying through walls to another part of the map 😂
      The game is really fun tho don't get me wrong 👌

    • @UnsponsoredVRGaming
      @UnsponsoredVRGaming  16 днів тому +1

      that's the exact one, lol. There must be something up with the collision in that area. And if people are still experiencing bugs, even if they don't affect everyone all the time, it's something that absolutely should be called out.

    • @kingsrky3931

      @@UnsponsoredVRGaming Yee other bugs really haven't been to game breaking apart from an archer mini boss going invisible amd making me invincible to his attacks. But yee I agree devs need to be called out whenever they mess up. We can't encourage complacency. Look what happened to ubisoft

    What's the vest for?

    • @UnsponsoredVRGaming
      @UnsponsoredVRGaming  17 днів тому

      It's a haptic vest. I went with the Woojer 3, which has more of a rumble effect, but isn't really directional.
      There's also b-haptics, which uses something like phone vibrators, and can be more precise, letting you feel gunshots or touches at a specific point. The downside to b-haptics is it's compatibility, as each game has to be programed by the developer (or mods in some cases) to use it. Woojer just works with every game.

    its really sad how VR games struggle so much to have good stories and focus more on the fact that its VR. I really hope we soon get a game that sucks you in like a good old RPG. With lore, characters, meaningful things to do instead of running from arena to arena. But anyway. Thank you for your review. it really helped me deciding if i should buy it or not. And as it seems like, I´ll keep my money for something that´s worth it and also worth the time.

      Thank you, and glad you enjoyed the review. The lack of detail to the world, and the overall art design were some of the things that disappointed me the most with this game, along with its story and lack of meaningful lore. It had some pretty looking skyboxes, but once you looked closer, there wasn't any substance to it.

    Im really curious what happened during development because this game cant be what Skydance had in mind. The combat is borked as can be, and so many inconsistincies with overall game design. There's old footage of item crafting and the girl acting as a vendor, its not in the game though. I just hope the combat gets tweaked because its borderline unplayable IMO and I feel like a few tweaks would resolve the issues. I think it's the physics, it just feels truly awful during melee. Its near 1:1 to what Saints and Sinners offers and to think that kind of speed and movement would translate well to a sword fighting game...makes no sense to me, lol.

      The combat is also held back by carrying over the stamina meter from TWD. It made sense in that game, but not so much here. More than that, they really need to entirely ditch the dodge cool down timer, it completely breaks encounters with enemies that can strike multiple times.
      There were also a few times during the first Behemoth fight that I'd dodge completely out of the way of its foot-stomps, and I'd get "sucked" into it, taking massive damage, almost like it had a magnet attached to it. I could literally see my player character being pulled into its foot after it landed.

      Thank you! I too think that the dodge shouldn't have a cool down. Simply removing that aspect would likely resolve my combat related issues. At the very least, let us use it twice before the cooldown. @TheVRGamerDad

    This game is basically a tech demo compared to Asgards Wrath 2. It can be beaten in 6 hours. Asgards Wrath 2's tutorial is 6 hours long and 90+ hours total. Not to mention far more deep and improved combat. The RPG elements of your followers in AW2 is 10x deeper than this game's entire rpg element. A single side mission can be more interesting/longer in AW2.

    • @UnsponsoredVRGaming
      @UnsponsoredVRGaming  18 днів тому +5

      I certainly see where you're coming from. AW2 is a true RPG, where Behemoth has a few token RPG elements, and they barely count for anything, at that. The biggest reason I, personally, would put Behemoth over AW2 is, with AW2, the world design started to feel stale after a while, and it started to succumb to the open world problem of having too many checklist things to do. I do concede that a lot of people do preferer that kind of gameplay. Like I said in the review, the linearity of Behemoth gave it a stronger sense of progression. Both game worlds ended up feeling like they were just staging arenas for trash mobs, and neither ever felt truly lived in.
      I also slightly preferred the sword play in Behemoth, though the mele in AW2 wasn't bad by any stretch. I liked the physics-based system in Behemoth, where the heavier weapons felt they had more wight to them, whereas in AW2, the weapons all felt light as a feather. Again, a lot of it comes down to preference, and what kind of experience you're looking for.

    I’ve just beaten the second boss. And I’m sorry to say, I’m just bored of it. In between the behemoth fights, in my opinion, are just slow and dull. Hack and slash, climb a bit, move forward, and then again and again. Then a behemoth fight. I feel myself just wanting to get to the behemoths. I have no more excitement to play it.

    • @UnsponsoredVRGaming
      @UnsponsoredVRGaming  15 днів тому

      I'm with you on that one. A couple of the "mini-boss" fights were ok, but there just wasn't enough character to the world, or any real "lore" to discover along the way. And the combat areas felt so gamified. They didn't feel like places that would organically exist in the world, just gamified arenas for trash mobs.

    I’m sick of ps store not offering refunds for VR games lmao. Been scammed out so much money for two minutes of total play time on so many games.

      It's especially b.s. considering PlayStation is one of the only platforms that doesn't offer refunds for digital games. Xbox, steam, even Meta has a 14 day/2-hour playtime policy. The only time I can remember PlayStation offering a refund for a game people had already downloaded and played was for Cyber Punk 2077.
