I have never had a deck I felt very back and forth about that I let go. I've never re-bought. I have some I'm not sure about but when I pass something along, I'm decisive. I do have a hard time deciding sometimes but am definitely an "air on the side of keep it til I'm sure" kind of a person. 🤣 I have re-homed a fair amount of decks though! Like you mentioned, in several instances it just came down to having gotten something before I was certain in what worked for me.
That’s very sensible, I like to think I’m more like that now and I don’t just reflexively get rid before I’ve given things a proper go. It’s hard figuring out what works for us, particularly when we know decks work for other people it can be easy to get swayed!
I've only rehomed four decks: Reclaim, Wild Unknown Archetypes (large version), The Dragon Tarot, and Heavenly Bodies Astrology. Reclaim I did not jive with AT ALL. I got some really, really negative cards on my first pull and could never quite shake the feeling that the energy was... off. I'm well in-tune with my emotions, so I didn't feel it was playing a role in my collection that I needed. I gifted Archetypes to a friend who gave me my first real tarot reading because I wanted the pocket. I love the pocket ed. ❤ My best friend was making a crocheted pouch for me and needed a deck to use for measurements, so I lent her The Dragon Tarot. I'd say I accidentally gifted that, but I'm okay with it never coming back. 😂 I never really enjoyed the artwork of Heavenly Bodies Astrology, but I did purchase it to learn more about astrology and it suited that purpose well. Oooh that’s so interesting. I’ve backed the new edition of Reclaim and have both the WU Archetypes and the Heavenly Bodies, and I’ve dithered over the Dragon Tarot when it pops up on eBay! "Smith-Waite but make it modern" perfectly describes why those decks bother me a bit. I've been meaning to get a Smith-Waite clone deck since I don't own the original deck 'cause I'm just not into it, but I thought having a clone with more appealing colors or something to study would help me. But I run into these types of decks often when I decided to look into "RWS-based decks" I'm going to start using "positive-washed" 'cause I also have complaints about that lmao
It feels like such a low-effort brief for a deck, I tend to find them so uninspiring! And I'm totally with you on the Feelings about overly positive-washed decks, I want to see all of humanity in the cards dammit!
This intro music was so dramatic, I had to replay it 🤣 Witches' Wisdom, I have a similar issue with other decks - it sounds great in theory (and I totally support people changing up the tarot system for their decks), but do I have enough interest to put in effort into learning it and getting good with it? I said goodbye to the Cosmic Slumber too. It was gorgeous stunning beautiful but reading it gave me a big fat nothing. My first oracle diaries instalment was 50% just a rant about the Earth Alchemy, it was not for me - I didn't even notice the fae stuff!
I personally find the Witches' Wisdom hard to use too because it's such a different system than RWS & Marseille. I'm still looking for an alternative way to use it, either as an oracle or as nature inspiration cards or as postcards for on my altar. For me the Herbal Astrology oracle is more interesting to learn about folklore uses of herbs across the world than for medicinal herbalism.
I can definitely see the Witches’ Wisdom being interesting as an oracle and the artwork would be beautiful on an altar! That makes a lot of sense about the Herbal Astrology oracle, I’ll keep that in mind thank you!
Tarot can sometimes do an uncanny thing where it seems like it predicts a future. But if you want a properly predictive reading there are probably better tarot readers out there for you!

In terms of help with bad luck etc, there were some really good recommendations in the last WWYD Occult Edition on Ivy the Occultist’s channel. In terms of professional astrologers, I haven’t ever been to one but there are some very educated and insightful people over on instagram!
