This level on Reach always broke my heart. Just watching civilians running around and dying, and watching the plane go down when you've just finished helping them get boarded. All the major feels.
Honestly on the flight over to the end of the level too shouting down at what's happening on the rooftops to try and help out the marines and civilians but you definitely don't do enough damage on legendary to actually kill any during that. Definitely a better level story/feels wise
one of the silliest things that makes me laugh in the laso series is that they call the helmets “hats” like them talking about the chieftain’s expensive hat really tickled me

@@sirlyon3333 I mean yeah they did a bit but this is kinda one of the fast LASO levels cause I believe there are only 7-8 shielded brutes in it. So its pretty quick until trying to get in the falcon part and trying to activate the missiles in the end.

honestly not to really argue this but thats not much of a counterpoint. that satelite was there for narrative reasons. each of these "camera" perspectives all imply cortana is watching noble teams journey.

It's probably a lot of dead air if they are concentrating, I've also seen youtube mark videos as too long. Seems like they are cutting back on their operating costs with the algos

At least even the shortest level in Reach so far is longer than 4 levels from the Halo 3 LASO. The New Alexandria LASO video (posted on Rooster teeth but I can't watch it), is slightly longer than this video but I think they edited out a significant chunk due to them restarting. This Exodus video itself had 20 minutes cut out for some reasons The Package has some notorious death zones (like the fuel rod turret part). Will be curious to see how long that takes them. Pillar theoretically should take at least 2 hours unless they do very well with all the sections or try to run.

I think Ryan just up and died in Long Night of Solace is because there is a soft kill area where he was in the drop shield and I think the Blind Skull gets rid of any notification that you are in one.
The hardest level for me on legendary and they did the LASO is the exact same amount of time Edit: Also the reason the reticle is lower on console is the way bungie wanted to make the gameplay and cutscene comp. They wanted to make reach feel huge and make maps seem open even in smaller spaces. By lowering the reticle a couple centimeters it opens up so much for your screen and can make it feel so much bigger
@@GeneralAdvance As much as it sounds like that's the case it's not, as evidence from the gameplay. Plus it is more helpful than hurtful, games that have centered reticles can feel small and compact. Look at destiny, it's gunplay seems tight and wooden simply because of a centered hud. You explore vast worlds but they feel too grounded and tiny.
Lowered reticle was done because the console Halo games had really low FOV. Lowered reticle, as you said, makes it feel more open and less claustrophobic. In Halo CE, the reticle is centered and feels fine because CE had higher FOV. On PC, Reach has a centered reticle as default(you can lower it if you like) because the FOV is high enough that centered doesn't feel claustrophobic.
Did the editors start cutting out alot of the video to make them shorter? I've noticed this and even next weeks laso are 1 hour 30 but looking at the in game time im 30 minutes in yet they are at 41 minutes... Would hate it if they were cutting out alot of the deaths to make the videos shorter. That's not what laso is about
They should do a LASO shenanigans where 3 of them don't fire their weapon or kill anyone, and see how long it takes the 4th person to figure it out and/or lose it
I just beat this game on Legendary by myself yesterday. I was having a difficult time on Solace until I remembered something one of them said by hiding behind the station. Worked for awhile then I hid under the Corvette and it worked for awhile lol

Been doing some Halo Reach with my father lately and we found that the elites, grunts, and brutes have a unique precision shot weakness. If you shoot them between their chest armor and helmets, so basically their necks its a one shot kill with a sniper rifle and a DMR. Elites, not so much because of their shields. I have no idea how this will work on LASO but just thought I would pass this information on. You can see Gavin doing this between 31:04 to 31.32 on the Brutes. He's not hitting them directly in the helmets, he's mainly getting them in the neck.
The first time they encounter brutes, if they go left up the stairs to the balcony that oversees the courtyard, there is a sniper rifle and I think a magnum
Pro tip: if you want to take over a wraith, shoot out the gunner and then hop in his seat. This causes the AI to force the driver out of the tank and then you just take his place.
How are they confused as to what happened to Ryan last part? His screen turned red right before he dropped so it's obviously that he was out of bounds??

The reticle is designed too be on the lower third of the screen for the bungee halos and destiny. Halo 5 and I think four moved it too the middle. 343 gave the option for middle of the screen or lower in the options!! Please like this so they can see and adjust if they want too

the achievement for not using armor abilities only requires YOU not to use one, so if you have a co op partner play with you and do the jetpack section while you wait behind it will teleport you past it and let you skip it entirely
To steal the Wraith just jump on it, not grab on with the x button but just stand on it, crouch and punch the drivers hatch until it breaks and exposes the drivers head then shoot the driver in the head and boom free undamaged wraith.
I was impressed when they managed to get to the last section of the level in like 45 minutes, and then I saw that there was still 40 minutes left on the video...
I swear Geoff really improves these videos nowadays. Great way of keeping the memory of that great man now that he's gonna be more absent than Gavin from now on.

The reticle is designed too be on the lower third of the screen for the bungee halos and destiny. Halo 5 and I think four moved it too the middle. 343 gave the option for middle of the screen or lower in the options!! Please like this so they can see and adjust if they want too

the achievement for not using armor abilities only requires YOU not to use one, so if you have a co op partner play with you and do the jetpack section while you wait behind it will teleport you past it and let you skip it entirely

To steal the Wraith just jump on it, not grab on with the x button but just stand on it, crouch and punch the drivers hatch until it breaks and exposes the drivers head then shoot the driver in the head and boom free undamaged wraith.
I was impressed when they managed to get to the last section of the level in like 45 minutes, and then I saw that there was still 40 minutes left on the video...
