Fantastic video! It's interesting that everyone who got earth 1 didn't get much out of it. On a side note the audio is only combing through one headphone for me and is a little quiet. I triple checked my headphone connection but it looks good and other videos come through fine. Im not sure if anyone else is having that issue
Nice vídeo, i just got into Terra mystica, (average player trying to improve My Game) and What u said about everybody Going for earth1 was completly true, thats was the part of the Game that was like oh yeah to get 120 Points just get e1 and ull prolly win against your homies, lol , in the other hand , still a puzzle how to really get good at this Game, i mean prlly most of your opponents did a normal opening at This Game, still they werent able to get a good score, so i still need to learn how to exploit each plan once u decide go for it THX for the vídeo, Nice to see the n*1 player at bga teaching how to improve our Game, looking forward for more stategic content . Great video, looking forward to more strategy content. I have some questions for you regarding this video's topic. Aside from shipping + big dwelling openings, what other openings do you usually consider when deciding to skip earth 1? It seems like developing a superior economy is somewhat necessary to compensate for the 18 or so points you lose not picking earth 1. So for instance, in this game, if the shipping tile had been taken, would you still go without Earth 1? Do you consider skipping earth 1 for factions that don't have innate scorings? Furthermore, when would you consider picking up an economic favor tile on turn 1, even if Earth 1 is available?
Hi! Thanks, those are very good questions! As for opening (and conditions to skip earth 1), very often I would say that getting the double spade action together with an economic favor that helps you hit an early cult income is the way, and can often compensate for the lack of earth1. In the game, if the shipping bonus was not there I may still have skipped earth1, but then temple up with fav air2 (hitting the early worker cult income in R2), still aiming for the SH in R2, although it would have been harder (may need the 2w action). Skipping earth1 is definitely a possibility for other faction than those with innate scoring, but you need to have the right setup and a good plan - it's harder this way for sure.
Hi Zoras got a question for ya - do you think Dwarves could also be a good race to pull off the no E1 strat? Since they have strong innate scoring ability and also a very good first TP. Would going for E2 better for Dwarves?
Hi B Y! Welcome to the channle! Yes, for sure, dwarves need a lot of workers to use their ability, and e2 can be really good for them in the right context. That is generally the case if there are some cult income on earth; generally speaking, to get enough compensation for taking an economic favor rather than e1, you need two things: hit a cult income with the taken favor and get the 2 spades action on R1; if you can get these two, it is almost always good to sacrifice earth1 for an economic favor.

Yes the problem is with the recording - was one of the first videos I made :D
This is a great video and it's really humane to share your insights with everyone :)
Yeah, more often than not, games without earth one just feels memorable.
