I love that the studio couldn't actually afford to fly Lambert out to Thailand to film with the rest of the cast, so they planned to just film all his stuff in LA and then splice it in, using a body double the rest of the time. He however was having none of it and flew out to Thailand on his own dime (complete with finding his own place to stay) stayed for the whole shoot and even personally paid for the wrap party. He believed, rightly, that Raiden's scenes would flow better if he could actually interact with and bounce off the other actors, but regardless of the reason I respect that he went above and beyond to do the role justice. So many actors would have just taken the money and let the editor worry about the rest, but Lambert wanted to do it right.
The truth is that in my opinion Christopher Lambert's performance is very overrated, it seems that he has already confessed this, that he doesn't consider himself that good an actor, but you can see that he is very hardworking. For me, what matched this one was Raiden's appearance, which fits his appearance like a glove. Raiden matches Christopher Lambert perfectly, perhaps he is the actor with Raiden's appearance at the time. It's incredible how they managed to represent Raiden visually, I don't know if they could do anything better than that. It was a very interesting visual choice. Even though I would change a lot of things in the script, I would make changes to Raiden's personality

Easily identifiable features for their colored portions and underneath, uniform black all around, as ninjas should be. I never watched the movie in theaters, but I introduced all mortal kombat games to my nephews. And then proceeded to show them this movie. Their reaction was all I needed. And this scene made them jump in excitement. Worth it.
While watching the 2021 mortal Kombat all i could think about was how much better this one was everything from the pacing the casting story and fight scenes. This was so much better
This movie always puts me in a good mood. 5 years old watching this for the first time. Scorpion, sub zero, and reptile were always my favorite characters. Everytime I seen them fight I was always imitating the fight moves as the scene was happening. Then I'd go outside and make up my own fight scenarios lol
Please for the love of Mortal Kombat whomever directs the next movies for life. Do not ever try to remake this scene!! You will never win and beat this intro scene!! Its perfect.
This movie was seriously 1,000% better than the remake. I liked the remake, but the original was just insane. Sick entrance by subzero and scorpion….they knew they were in trouble when Sonya says “move aside” with her gun pointed and subzero puts his hand to the gun, freezes it, and easily breaks it off. Scorpion eyes, the mask, even the stinger coming out was perfectly done.
Best Mortal Kombat movie to date with literal perfect casting. Also, for anyone who want to know the song is, its Scorpion and Subzero by George S. Clinton.
I still remember the reaction from the people in the theater during this scene as a kid. As soon as these 2 came out, the audience came alive specifically for Scorpion. Eveyone went nuts the moment the special effects for the ice and especially the snake were seen. Sub-Zero comes in: Ooooo! Scorpion comes in: Ohhhhh!!!! The audience that day made this scene.
8 years old In 1995, and played Mortal Kombat absolutely everyday on Sega Genesis after school with my neighbor. This is the theater was epic. I still remember it clearly.
Sonya: "When I want backup, I will radio for it" *Sub Zero and Scorpion enter Johnny Cage: "Got that radio handy". Cracks me up every time ha ha ha ha ha lol.
I had a better time watching this whole 3min clip than I had watching that new "Mortal Kombat movie". Calling it a movie is repulsive. Now this, this was a movie.
Don't get me wrong, when I was a kid, I must have watched this movie 100 times. Amazing stuff. This movie is rough to watch today, but there are still parts in it that give me goosebumps.

despite some cheesy moments, this movie breathes awesomeness with scenes like this when two deadly ninjas shot from a low angle enter the room through the clouds of mist to some badass music. pure badassery
The greatest movie scene of all time is when these two enter. 40 years old and I still occasionally watch this scene.
48 here and I smirk like a teen Lol. Bet I’ll tell you the same 10 yrs from now. : D
@@camf33likewise. 39 and still grinning like a fool when that music kicks in 😁
46 here.. I gotta go back to this every so often.. I seen this movie in theaters 10 times. I had to limit it to 10.
Hell ya man, 38 here. I was in 5th grade when it came out. Also went to tower records and got the soundtrack lol
this scene alone is better than 2021 mk
Fixed:
10x time better.
💪💯
Despite being mind controlled. Scorpion and subzero are still badass
100% agreed.
No way lol
Lmao truth
The lighting is so beautiful in this movie
Have seen this movie at least 35 times back in the day. What a masterpiece.
The Shang Tsung guy was so creepy to Sonja would not play well today
As badass as the ninjas are, Raiden will always be my favorite character. Everybody just stops fighting when he shows up and that electricity runs through his eyes lol. Fuckin boss.
Ah ah.......☝🏻⚡😈
I have NO IDEA what ppl are talking about when they say this movie is bad
This movie is amazing
And I don't mean in a so bad it's good kinda way
This is hands down the best movie based on a video game ever
1:19 when the door opens and the music starts you already know that you’re done 👊🏻
The way he opens it from the outside through the symbol on the door is such a badass little touch
Bryan BD lol what?
Okay but it's hilarious how thirsty Shang Tsung is for Sonya 😂😂😂
Brilliant, brilliant scene. As “deadly” as scorpion and sub-zero are to Johny, Sonia, and and Liu Raiden comes in and demolishes them both in a blink of an eye. Gotta appreciate his flex.
The most badass entrance in entire cinema history!!!
I never watched the movie in theaters, but I introduced all mortal kombat games to my nephews. And then proceeded to show them this movie. Their reaction was all I needed. And this scene made them jump in excitement. Worth it.
wow, how interesting your desire to show this to them. Not all kids like these things but I'm glad they did.
The whole scene is great, but the entrance by Sub-Zero and Scorpio is pure art. Periodically coming back to rewatch the moment, since the childhood
While watching the 2021 mortal Kombat all i could think about was how much better this one was everything from the pacing the casting story and fight scenes. This was so much better
1:15 is what you came for
This movie always puts me in a good mood. 5 years old watching this for the first time. Scorpion, sub zero, and reptile were always my favorite characters. Everytime I seen them fight I was always imitating the fight moves as the scene was happening. Then I'd go outside and make up my own fight scenarios lol
This movie captured the essence of mortal Kombat better I feel like
Absolutely
Please for the love of Mortal Kombat whomever directs the next movies for life.
Do not ever try to remake this scene!! You will never win and beat this intro scene!! Its perfect.
The new movie may or may not be great but seeing these two walk through a door on the big screen as a kid was the absolute best.
Nothings beating this and these characters, not the 2021 movie! Its just too epic!!
If I'm on a boat and I see those two mfers walk through the door, I'm praying Lord Raiden really does exist.
Ill never forget hearing the audience's nervous laughter when these two came in. They dont makem like this anymore.
What are you talking about?
They need to do a remake of this 2021 version best mortal Kombat movie ever!!!!!!
This has to be the coolest Character Entrance in the History of Videogame-Movie-Adaptions
Best Mortal Kombat movie to date with literal perfect casting. Also, for anyone who want to know the song is, its Scorpion and Subzero by George S. Clinton.
"Hey, be nice to the lady she was just doing her job"
Shang tsung was actually being really nice offering her a tour
@shawapatchkid Yeah, he offered to "give it to her" himself.
Scorpion really creeps me out with his eyes.
Johnny Cage: "Got that radio handy?"😀
2022 I still haven’t seen a scene better than this br💯💯💯🔥🔥🔥
I'm so glad that they brought back the guy who played shang tsung for MK11 I'm so happy
I'm a 90s kid, this will ALWAYS be Mortal Kombat to me
I still get shivers when Scorpion and sub-zero enter! Love it!
Sonya: "When I want backup, I will radio for it"
*Sub Zero and Scorpion enter
Johnny Cage: "Got that radio handy".
Cracks me up every time ha ha ha ha ha lol.
Damn! Shang Tsung's stalking skills were on point!🤣🤣
Scorpion looks absolutely amazing his eyes are deadly as he/she they them is 😂
Who is here after 2021 movie to see how good Mortal Kombat movie should look like?
Wasn’t impressed with the new one. Specifically the storyline. Graphics, cast, acting were fine. But it seemed like just a buildup for a sequel.
I had a better time watching this whole 3min clip than I had watching that new "Mortal Kombat movie". Calling it a movie is repulsive. Now this, this was a movie.
How nice of Raiden to produce color-matching lightning for Scorpion and Sub-Zero. I bet they were pleased.
Don't get me wrong, when I was a kid, I must have watched this movie 100 times. Amazing stuff. This movie is rough to watch today, but there are still parts in it that give me goosebumps.
Still better then the new one I doubt anyone will be watching it 20-30 years from now.
@@zack6892exactly
That boi shang tsung was rocking the hell out of that perm 😂😂😂😂
Always loved this version of Scorpion and sub-zero’s outfits.
This MortalKombat movie is 100x better than the 2021 version.
