  • In recent weeks, Israel has found itself in an unprecedented situation following the October 7th attack. The nation is now facing simultaneous conflicts on three fronts, with a major campaign in Gaza, a mini-war in the north, and another campaign in the West Bank. The strain on both the military and public patience has reached critical levels as Israel navigates through this multifront challenge.
Zooming out to the bigger picture, the orchestration by Iran is becoming increasingly evident. The global stage is set for a potential war as Iran pulls the strings of various players like Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Houthi rebels in Yemen. Their actions threaten not only the stability of the region but also the global economy, pushing Israel and the West to confront difficult decisions. As tensions rise, the question becomes: What steps should Israel and the Western world take in response to this intricate web of geopolitical challenges?
To unravel these complex questions, we turn to our most trusted expert, the man with the insights, Dr. Dan Schueftan. Dr. Dan is the head of the International Graduate Program of National Security at the University of Haifa, with a wealth of experience as a teacher at the IDF National Security College and Command and Staff College. His advisory roles for Israel’s National Security Council and former Prime Ministers Yitzhak Rabin and Ariel Sharon, coupled with his prolific writings on Israel’s National Security, make him the go-to expert for understanding the intricacies of the current geopolitical landscape. Join us as we explore the analysis and recommendations of Dr. Dan on the unfolding events that have captivated the world's attention.

Annex the land. Bulldozer the fence with Egypt to facilitate the Gazan Al Masris moving there.
Israel needs to have defensible borders. From the river to sea.
I'm not Israeli or even Jewish but it's time to stop the soft approach with Islam.
The world needs honest and open dialog with the followers of this ideology. Face the fact that this is not a peaceful religion. Rather it is a supremacist ideology that strives for world domination. A death cult that values death more than it values life.

This is just an ‘I wonder’. I wonder whether this Gaza war is touched by Isaiah 11:14? The now returned and united Israelis fly down on the shoulder (ועפו בכתף פלשׁתים ) of the Gaza Strip. Is that the north part?

It is not a foregone conclusion that Israel will even win this war in Gaza. Israel is hiding the number of soldiers killed in Gaza. Some estimate the number to be over 4,000 so far. Israel cannot sustain those types of losses for much longer.

I was in Israel a few years ago in a hotel in Jerusalem. One of the managers in the hotel was an Arab. he was charming and polite. He told me that his son was studying at the Hebrew University. He told me he owned an apartment. He told me he owned land. He then took his phone to show me works of art he had produced. One was of the Via Dolorosa in colours of the Palestinian flag. I asked him why , of all the colours of the flag did he use red for the road. His reply was that liberation must be achieved through shedding blood. Now, I reflected hard on the earlier part of the conversation: Here was a man in a successful position in a well established hotel, children who were educated, owned property and reasonably settled in his manner, yet he harboured an ambition to chuck this all away in favour of committing bloodshed. And this was one ordinary guy.

Don't worry, it's a Jewish\Israeli thing, challenging one's views is not considered disrespectful if done without malice, Dr Schueftan knows they respect him and is not offended by them disagreeing with him. A Jew must have two synagogues, one he goes to, and one he doesn't go to... :)

Yes I completely agree with Dr. Dan. This comes from a once bleeding heart liberal who finally woke up and looked around and noticed where my bleeding heart liberal ideals were taking me and my country. I had been believing a lie perpetrated around the world now not just isolated in my area of existence. I have grown up I started seeing things through grown up eyes. Unfortunately I see a lot of grown up eyes that never grew up. That was something of a mind twister but you get the idea and if you don't check because I don't think your eyes are open you're still in la la land as Dr Dan said. Thank you Dr Dan for having the balls to stand up and say what's truth.

Brilliant sage, who is a realist and knows a job has to be done. One thing I know, there is no such thing as a sweet old lady, harm her children and see what happens. Israel was a sweet old nation, now it can’t afford to be. Really enjoyed the debate, learned a lot, talked with honesty, reason and logic. You give me some hope for the future but you can’t reason with unreasonable like Hamas. It’s a completely different mindset. Good to listen to the different generations being able to debate so well and have the freedom to do so. At least they are able to question openly and not suppressed. Appeasement never works. May Israel find peace and build the fantastic country you were doing. ❤

Man, I love this guy. He's saying the exact truth despite how ugly it is. The world doesn't want to address the reality of the situation regarding Palestinians and especially Iran, and the world ignores the truth to its great detriment. He is also correct that most Americans are simple-minded. As an American, I see the weakness this has bred everywhere and I know that we will pay for it intensely. I'm infuriated and embarrassed at our government's constant finger-wagging at Israel since this war started, as if we have the moral high ground. America telling another country, much less Israel, to put up with horrific and constant terrorism in order to avoid civilian casualties is some fucking nerve. Anyway, I loved this conversation, and Dr. Dan is a gem full of necessary wisdom.

We were in a Jewish museum in Germany and the guide has told us about something he said he witnessed when he himself was on a similar tour with a Jewish group.
The guide at that tour tells the local Jewish history of Jews coming, living in the German town. Then there is a pogrom, the Jews are killed, then some time later Jews come back to the town, rebuild, live for some time, then there is a pogrom, the Jews are killed. Then some hundred years later there is another pogrom and so on...
A Jewish immigrant to Germany from Eastern Europe then speaks up incredulously: "But why did they keep coming back?"
The guide turns to him and says: "But you are back here, too."
People want to believe they can live happily and in peace with others. They will forget the danger they are in because it is emotionally more comfortable to go about your day trusting your neighbour than thinking about him waiting for you with his knife around the corner. But that is exactly what happened on October 7. Workers from Gaza have betrayed the Israeli people to terrorists by providing information on the families living there.
    Never forget - is important.
