Here's is my tip. Two points importants at first dates: Places to have really long conversations, which allows you to get the other person; and adrenaline, whether it be sports, or anything that makes her heart beat faster.

I've had good success with shooting, Its fun, its unique, you usually have good time for conversation while waiting between shooting, and you get a chance to show off in a non-threatening way.
Go to a PUBLIC shooting range (nothing is more creepy than going into the woods with a gun and a girl). If its her first time shooting, you can incorporate a little touching usually.

Totally agree about the dinner date. It is HORRIBLE. It feels like a job interview. An activity is the way to go. I would advise just shooting hoop or playing air hockey and then getting a snow cone or something and just walk around a little where some place has nice scenery. Not saying a dinner date will always go bad they are super awkward for the first time.
so i have just got back from a " first date" i asked her to go watch a film.... we had a blast though! and we spoke to each other tones. after words she said to me " want to go do something else?, go bowling" and we had even more fun :) and got to hug her too which was great.
maybe it would have been a good idea to watch this before going... may of avoided going to the films but hey it worked for me :D all girls are different remember so anything can happen :).

Picnic is the best in my opinion, but not in a park. Take her somewhere romantic, a river, a lake or somethign where you are on your own. Shows that you are creative and not as boring as all the other guys who take girls to fancy restarantes just to show off.

I've found that mini-golf is a fun first date. Especially if your in High-school or college. It's fun, easy going, AFFORDABLE, (however, if you're going out to eat. Go somewhere a little nicer) you're able to make some moves, without being creepy, and having a little light competition can play with the sexual tension a little bit.
