Great video Yan! Really enjoyed it 😊 I can’t tell, but I think your ‘front sail’ is either called a Genoa or Jib

Yeah this one’s the Genoa, I’ve got a jib in the sail bag as well that’s only a tiny bit smaller. They are both pretty small though! They don’t even go all the way up the forestay. I reckon a much larger gib and Genoa could be cut but then again the boat won’t go much more than 5 knots so I guess it doesn’t need to be bigger, but I’d love a large jib to just use for downwind sailing since hoisting the mainsail as demonstrated is such a PITA single handed.

As sound as you can afford it, get a tiller pilot. It transforms single handed sailing.

I will! this is certainly on my shopping list. Only issue I have is I have 0 electrics so it will probably come in an end of season re-fit along with nav lights some USB chargers and a little solar panel. I've also considered that on my next outing I should raise sail heading into the wind given how easily my sails came back down at the end of this trip without loosing control.

@@yanafloat it might be worth trying a bungee cord & rope set up until you get your electrics sorted. There are examples on UA-cam.
