This tool is called "loop turner". (11:29)
The pink tape is made of urethane foam with a sticky surface.
It is very useful as a guideline for stitching. (12:35)
This white strip is hard interfacing that is usually used for waist band. The white strip is just a "PP strap" that is often used for packing work. Both, it is in order not to slide while sewing (sewing gap). When the thickness of the fabric is different, the pressure of the presser foot and the feed dog are not stable. Putting this tape means adding the height, this is very useful. PP strap is also used for stitch guide.(30:01)

Watching this video from end-to-end is like taking a dress-making master class. When you joined the binding at the top of the side slit it felt like the audience should stand up and applaud as if it were Wimbledon. Thank you for sharing your expertise.
I love your comparison. It's great to see someone else having so much respect and admiration for these highly skilled craftspeople.
I love to see all the sewing aids she uses, the awl, the permanent sleeve board, the pressure steam iron, etc. And her use of her fingers! I learn so much from watching. Wish I had that sleeve board and iron!😊
I so much love watching your video’s. Anyone that gets something made by you is certainly getting their money’s worth, that’s for sure. Linen is difficult to sew with, that’s a fact and I hope that all your special efforts are appreciated. You are an amazing seamstress, that is beyond a doubt. Take care and I hope for you a long happy life.
She is VERY precise with all the stitching and measure. I think that contribute to the success of her sewing. Precision is so important
This is a professional with years of experience. Don't get discouraged if you can't sew this well, just keep at it! We can learn from the BEST here. So lovely to watch. 👏👍💕
I know that this is a relatively simple garment, never mind that linen frays like nobody’s business, but again the attention shown to detail is phenomenal, I hope the lady that gets this garment appreciates the time and effort taken to produce something so flawless! Thanks for sharing this, I learn so much from your videos, patience being the main 😃👍👏👏👏👏👏
I think this company specializes in making a sample custom garment for higher-end wholesale or retail customers. But once the sample is no longer required one of the customer's employees might get the sample. Lucky person! At least this is how it worked when I worked for a retailer and our buyers were given samples to keep sometimes.
That neckline was a great deal of painstaking work, I commend her patience and skill.
Welcome back , we miss you!
Beautiful tunic!
Remarkable craftsmanship!!
Wow! It is amazing to watch her hands. There is so much skill and experience and amazing attention to detail. Just mesmerized. Thank you!!
For some reason I am only watching this now. I find it very interesting how lightly they press parts of the garment while it is under construction. I realize they are using a heavy and powerful steam iron and depending on the fabric they would be using a press cloth, but just the same it's interesting. Also as simple as this garment looks it is surprising to see how long they take in doing some steps, like making the bias binding, applying it around the neckline and neckline slit, armholes and side seams. This is why the garment looks so much better than most of us make. The more I look at the fabric the more I like it. I have a feeling the colours are quite lovely if we saw it in real life.
I have a dream. I want to go to 洋裁 school in Tokyo when i am retired. now it seems atelier saison has fulfilled my dream.

Loosely woven linen is a very difficult material to sew with. As usual she is amazing.

I'm sure I used to see the pink tape is made of urethane foam with a sticky surface sold on Amazon Canada or the USA. Now I can't find it. What Brand name is it? Thank you. This is the first time I've seen the pink urethane foam strip used on either side of the sewing foot. Another very intelligent sewing technique. This video is over 100 minutes long and it doesn't include all of the preparation work - pattern drafting, fabric layout and cutting, tailors tacks, preparing instructions for the sewist, plus all the steps the highly skilled sewist did. If I tried to do this even if I had a similar pattern it would take me at least two days and it wouldn't look as good. But practice makes perfect!
The pink tape is made of urethane foam with a sticky surface. We buy them in a kind of professional shop in Japan. I'm afraid to say that we do not know if it is available outside of Japan. Thank you so much for a lot of your words!!

Hi! When pressing the finished French seam to one side she sometimes putting a strip of paper under it. I’m guessing it’s to prevent a shadow showing through on the right side of the garment. Am I correct? If so, that’s so smart!!
Yes, you are correct! We don't want to make a trace (like a mark) of seam allowance because of pressing by the iron. Thank you!
@@ateliersaison thank you for responding! And considering I love to use French seams this knowledge will be very useful to me. So glad I watched this video!!
Thank you!
Hermoso, cómo todo tu trabajo.. 👏👏👏😊
Incredible care taken at all stages. Wonderful to watch. Is this pattern available? It looks so comfortable...
Unfortunately, we do not share patterns.
Thank you!!
Thanks 🙏
Thank you so much. There are still a lot to learn from you. Very precise and in details. Do you have shop sell your stitching.
We do not have any shop. Thank you.
Ben tesekkur ederim cevabiniz icin isiniz gercekten mukemmel .
Outstanding. This is how to sew.

And I consider it the best lessons in teaching sewing

Great perfection!! What is the sleeve drafting method they used....any commenters please help if you know it....I am new to sewing.
New to this site and now a BIG fan. What was the thin stiff plastic strip (placket application) ? Do you need a special foot? Also...anyone know where to source that measuring tool used to place the seam guide? LOVE LOVE LOVE your sewing skills and technique. Inspirational.
This white strip is just a "PP strap" that is often used for packing work. This is in order not to slide while sewing (sewing gap). When the thickness of the fabric is different, the pressure of the presser foot and the feed dog are not stable. Putting this tape means adding the height. This is also useful for straight guide line. The measuring tool is sold by Japanese sewing shop (popular shop is OKADAYA). Thank you.
So beautiful, i whis it was mine :-)))
Know-how is wonderful. Chan ,I am a suit expert.
Man, I really need to find the time, to actually watch these videos from start to finish, instead of skipping through them - you're so meticulous with every little detail it's like taking a sewing course.
It would be great, if you could add a couple timestamps, though, so it's easier, to find the segments that tackle specific details.
Does anyone know what the pink adhesive strips are ? Where to buy them? Amazing .....she is deft and super efficient
The pink tape is made of urethane foam with a sticky surface. We buy them in a kind of professional shop in Japan. Thank you!
@@ateliersaison thank you .You are very kind to reply so quickly .
Thanks for another excellent video. How wide is the strip for the continuous bound placket?
The width is 5 mm. Thank you!
Thank you so much for another great video. I learn so much watching. Do you mind me asking what is the white stripe material used at the start of sewing - to grab fabric?
The white strip is hard interfacing that is usually used for waist band. Another white strip is just a "PP strap" that is often used for packing work. Both, it is in order not to slide while sewing (sewing gap). When the thickness of the fabric is different, the pressure of the presser foot and the feed dog are not stable.
Ps
Please can you tell me what the pink stuff is that you use for a seam guide 🤔 many thanks 🙏

@@ateliersaison it looks very handy to have !
Wow 😍👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
What are you using as guides, one is pink and the other some piece of white plastic? Love your use of the awl.

Do you have any videos on you sewing stretch material?
@@patriciapadilla6486 No, we try not to choose stretchy materials as much as possible.
Excelent!👏👏
Is the textured gold colored ring on the middle finger of her right hand a thimble?
Yes, it is.
Top 10 👏👏👏👏
Is the needle holder on the front of the machine something to purchase, or is it something she just attached with Velcro?
About black needle holder? If so, this is the one that came with the needle when we purchased it. She put it on the sewing machine. Thank you.
