I'm not even a mountain biker, but this has recently been my favorite channel, for some reason these are very relaxing to watch for me. Only improvement I wish for is 60fps video, just for that extra smoothness.
I do agree that 60 frames would be nicer, but it's limited by the technology, GoPro's can't film in 60fps and keep the same quality of footage, as well as other settings being downgraded.
it actually just makes it annoying to load at a decent quality on UA-cam, plus, 60fps ain't the right amount for the dark north shore woods, just makes the video more grainy

Typically run heavy duty tires with lower air pressure for this type of riding. Also run a tubeless setup which uses special tires/rims and sealant instead of a tube so you don't get as many flats.
Just watched the first of your videos today, and my goodness this is incredible and insane. I’m not sure what I am more impressed with…your ability as a rider or the technical skill of whoever created that trail down that mountain. I mean, it’s not like it’s short little bit. Someone put in a ton of time to create the ride, put in the wood trail parts and just ensure you had all those challenges. I never knew anything like that existed. So amazing to watch. Thanks for sharing.
Great riding guys Gopro doesnt show how crazy steep the upper sections of Boundary and Lower Ladies are. Still trying to figure out some of those corners so great to watch your lines thanks for the great content.
I have accidentally gotten lost and walked a bike trail once. Didn't even know biking downhill was a thing at the time. Ended up falling in the mud because some places were too narrow to walk on.

pretty i sure i got this pet peeve from my days in college, when i would get trapped behind professors who would stop to chat on the paths around campus, blocking the way, and since poison ivy grew everywhere, going off the paths was just asking for a rash. Boundary is the best trail on Fromme. I first rode it solo on a nasty rainy winter day and if i started with 9 lives I had 1 left by the time I got to the bottom. That double down ladder to creek crossing is a dice roll in the wet. Never been on lower ladies cause im always crossing back to lower expresso/digger to exit. Will have to check it out.
It's worth it! The crux move (for me at least) is that 90 degree after the root waterfall (where they both got hung up). Still don't clean it consistently.

Dave what grips do you have on the McSight? My current grips are too skinny for my hands and I've been thinking about upgrading to maybe rev-grips but wondering what you use first, thanks!
I use Deity Knuckledusters. They're a medium-large grip in my opinion. Good cushion. Grippy in the dry. I've used them for several years now, although I might try to find something with a softer compound for the wet winter months.
Standing around in a mountain pass! xD Not even in the side which still is not the safest place but in the damn middle of the trail. Reminds me of people who lay around in the blind spots of downhill skiing trails,

Is it possible to take the Norco sight in the Bikepark? I don't ride bikepark often. (90% trails 10% park) I'm just looking for a bike which I can throw on everything and don't have to be scared something breaks. Or should I go for a bigger Enduro? I have ridden the sight once and I really liked it.
I only ride park 1-3 times a year and the Sight handles it just fine. I put a 170mm fork on which I like better overall, but it's a 'nice to have' not a 'must have'. As for a bigger bike, I think it really depends on your trails and riding style, but I find the Sight hits the sweet spot for 90% or more of my riding.
do you recommend I use cleats for downhill? Do you think they help with stability/being able to control your bike better? and do you use heavier or lighter bikes when riding downhill? I've been told that enduro bikes are heavier than cross country bikes and I want to know if my struggles in the mountains on a GT Bruno was a weight issue as well or exclusively a skill issue.
So...somehow the utoob algorithm brought me here a couple weeks ago, and I'm stoked about it! I honestly can't comprehend how the bikes don't just crumble on these trails. If anyone who's actually in the community could enlighten me...how many years does it take riders to get to this skill level? Unbelievably impressive.
Living on the Shore (or another of the meccas on the West Coast) certainly helps. Each rider is different- I thought I had a substantial skill base built up before moving out here, but that turned out to mostly just be fitness- many of these features were intimidating at first. A year or so of riding 3-4 times a week brought my skills a LONG way and now, three years in, the three trails featured here are in my top five favorites on Fromme and now I'm happy riding them on a older 120 mm trial bike, my hardtail, or on my enduro bike. That being said, I've seen a lot of riders progress faster (I'm cautious and methodical in my growth), but I also know many long-time riders who are happy sticking to more moderate trails and/or flow trails instead.
Hey Dave- what's your ratio of back braking to front braking (when and IF you ever even need to brake! LOL!!!) I've been taking steeper stuff and pretty much always just back brake...Any tips or thoughts? btw- AWESOME CHANNEL!!!
Thanks! As for braking, it's hard to say exactly. This isn't very helpful advice, but I'd say as much front as I can get without locking up and losing traction. Weight distribution is heavily biased towards the front so that's where a lot of your braking power is going to come from.
