what would happen to the optical output of the intensity modulator if you apply to it randomly polarised light?

At minute 13, it seems to me that the signal being applied to the Mach-Zehnder modulator is a modulating signal, namely the RF signal, as the bias signal is continuous and has no frequency.

It is CW mode, single source
