Thank you so much for sharing your video and thoughtful recommendations! I had the opportunity to dine at Chops Grille on the Ovation of the Seas during a memorable trip to New Zealand, where we were celebrating our 10-year wedding anniversary. With all the rave reviews highlighting the exceptional quality of the meat, my expectations were understandably high. My children, who are quite delightful and were brimming with excitement, couldn't wait to experience what we hoped would be an extraordinary dining occasion. Unfortunately, our visit fell short of the high standards we’d anticipated. Despite the premium pricing, the meat quality was underwhelming-surprisingly, we found the offerings in the main dining room, where everyone dines together, to be superior in both flavor and presentation. The sauce portions at Chops Grille were notably small, and we had to repeatedly request additional servings. Compounding the experience was a disappointing level of service that failed to match the sophisticated dining promise. The overall ambiance was dim and lacked vibrancy, making the setting feel uninviting, especially for families hoping to celebrate a special occasion. We’re eagerly looking forward to our upcoming cruise in a few weeks, and your recommendations for Wonderland and Jamie Oliver’s restaurant are already on our list. These spots seem far more exciting and enticing based on the glowing reviews from fellow passengers, and we’re hopeful for a more rewarding dining adventure. Thank you once again for your insight. For those contemplating Chops Grille, be aware that it can be hit or miss. While we remain open-minded and not overly demanding when it comes to dining experiences, this one felt like a significant letdown. I sincerely hope others have a more satisfying experience if they decide to give it a try. Here’s to many more delightful and delicious voyages ahead! 😊
Love this feedback and insight into your experience, and so sorry to hear about your Chops Grille woes - doesn't sound great at all. I certainly loved my Jamie's Kitchen and Alice's Wonderland (which I've done twice now) dinners, so I'm really hoping you get the experience you deserve there. Let me know how you go! Otherwise enjoy your cruise!
Enjoyed you review of the specialty dining restaurants. We are on Ovation next month for a 7 day sailing and want to try these experiences. Did you pre-book the 3 night dining package prior to your sailing or did you op for making reservations once boarding the ship?
Thank you! And no, I had no problems at all. Kids got whatever they wanted. My eldest opted for the adult meals. Once you're at the table, they are more than happy for you to have your fill in my experience.

Thanks for the honesty on the trip. We are travelling 12 January.
So glad it was of help. I hope you have a wonderful time. I've got another video doing a full tour of the ship as well if that's of help.

Thank you! I really hope you enjoy your trip. We pre-booked the 3 nights.
A different format. I like it.
In terms of the type of food at each restaurant?
@@motivatedtravel Your way of describing the event. You concentrate on the experience rather than the food.
@@davemcduckful Got you! Thank you so much for the feedback! Perhaps because I was focused on the kids sense of joy.
Great video. Did you have issues with kids ordering from adult menu?
