- This is how I band or dock the tails of my lambs. This is not done for cosmetic reasons or for looks but strictly for their health. Woolly Ranch is a small NO KILL sheep farm located in the mountains of Fancy Gap. Virginia. #sheepfarm #nokill #sheep #sheepfarmer #sheepfarming #taildocking #dockingtails #lambtaildocking #newbornlambcare #caringfornewbornlambs #lambcare #tailbanding
So informative! Thank you so much for taking the time to film this! I’m sure it will be very usual for sheep owners! 😊
She smiled at the camera when you were done, that was so cute! So this is just like when you band the testicles to make a goat a wether. We have banded several and some cried and laid down like you were killing them, and some just shook it off and were fine. Thanks for sharing this!
Same exact way with calves. Some don’t seem to notice, and others scream like you have truly injured them. 🙄
Well explained Kristen I have heard you explain this before but others don't know!!Thank you for sharing your life with us all!!You take excellent care of the animals!!Blessings from Virginia always!!🥰🐑💜🐑🩵🐑🩷🫏💜

Dumplin looked like she smiled right after you were done and showed her face

Good job mom.
Very informative!
4:44 This reminds me of “Little Bo-Peep” & “Mary Had a Little Lamb” from Nursery Rhymes (1983)
Yay! I’ve been waiting for educational videos!
Oh wow. Those poor babies. I know you said it's only a little uncomfortable for them but they don't know what's going on so of course my heart breaks for them, but it's for their own good so I understand.
I've only ever had cats and dogs as pets, and they have bones in their tail, my Cara do, so I didn't know with sheep this was even possible to do.
Thank you for the information and being a wonderful woman caring for all these guys ♡
Thank you for sharing this process! I’ve been so curious ❤
What a great video; so educational!

I was so curious to know ❤ thank you!! I knew if you were docking, there was a good reason! My son 4.5 year old and I have been watching your videos since before Tinkles was born

That was really interesting even to someone who has nothing to do with a farm. Great job explaining it to us Kristen!
So informative! I'm a city girl from Chicago, but I'm learning SO much from you!! You truly do have an amazing spirit!! I think your voice is so calming, but uplifting, if that makes sense! 2:48 Is Lamb Sqaundered from “Little Bo-Peep” & “Mary Had a Little Lamb” in Nursery Rhymes (1983)
We just got our little lamb 6 days ago. When we got her they banded her tail. Her tail was starting to smell 2 days ago and i noticed today that she had a few maggots back there. I washed the area with antibiotic soap. And then sprayed it with disinfectant wound spray (maid for horse, sheep, cows…). Am i doing the right thing ? Just keep washing the area and using the spray? We have goats, pigs and chickens, this is our first lamb.
