- After about 15 days of regular hard work, we managed to bring this video up to you. In making such stuff, we have followed all the terms & conditions that have been agreed with the Pashupati Area Development Trust ,mean to say that it has legal ground as well. The purpose of making this video is to make all Hindus around the world to have darshan of Shri Pashupatinath and to make Pashupatinath famous all over the world and make it easier for the country to move forward on the path of economic prosperity along with the tourism development.
Know something about Pashupatinath:
Pashupatinath Temple is the oldest Hindu temple in Kathmandu. This temple complex was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage Sites list in 1979.This temple was built by Prachanda Deva, a Lichchhavi King, who according to the stone inscription erected by Jayadeva 11 in the courtyard of Pashupatinath in 753 AD.
It is believed that, Once Shiva and Parvati came to the Kathmandu Valley and rested by the Bagmati while on a journey. … More complications ensued, but ultimately Lord Shiva announced that, since he had lived by the Bagmati River in a deer's form, he would now be known as Pashupatinath, Lord of all animals.The belief at Pashupatinath about the end of kaliyug is that when a small shrine half protruding from the platform on the Bagmati River emerges fully, the goddess inside will escape, and this evil period of kaliyug will end on earth.
Aarati is the most important and captivating Hindu ritual. One of the most enthralling practices in Pashupatinath areas is Bagmati Aarati. Bagmati aarati at the banks of the Bagmati River just opposite the main Pashupatinath temple every evening. The dazzling environment of Pashupatinath during Aarati time is a blissful moment for attendance. Aarati ritual has a great significance in the Hindu religion. During Bagmati Aarati, the three priests follow the customs with various religious elements like lamps and lanterns by chanting the sacred mantra and ringing the bells that seem so fascinating. The three priests take lamps filled with cotton wicks soaked in ghee (purified butter) and move them in a circular motion and dedicate their function to the divine. The three priests perform regular Aarati by taking lamps where Cotton Wicks soaked in ghee (purified butter) are kept, and move them in a circular motion and dedicate their function to the divine.
Pashupati Sandhya aarati was started as a regular tradition in 2006 and is continuously practiced. The large mass of devotees and tourists observe the sandhya aarati. The Vedic, mantras, and classical and the lighting of the lamps make the glaring environment that refreshes your mind and soul. Bagmati Aarati attracts a large mass of people every day.
Pashupati Bagmati aarati starts at 6 pm approx... every evening and lasts for about 2 hours, and is also famous as Pashupati Sandhya Aarati/ Bagmati Sandhya Aarati that Sandhya means evening in English. Bagmati aarati provides every follower with ecstatic moments. Tandav dance is a sacred dance performed by Lord Shiva. During Aarati time, the followers perform ‘Tandav dance’ for Lord Shiva. Monday is the day for worshiping Lord Shiva and visiting Lord Shiva. Bagmati Aarati attracts a large mass of devotees and visitors every day, but more on Monday.
